Stopped in for lunch on our way back from Tulsa. Found this small place, extremely happy we stopped. The service was excellent, the owner came out to see how are food was 10/10. They offer prime rib after 3pm and it did not disappointed, amazing flavor perfectly cooked medium rare. (Didn't get a pic before hubby started eating). We ordered potato skins for appetizer loaded with toppings 8/10. The patty melt was flavorful and perfectly grilled wheat bread 10/10. Bread pudding very fresh and tasty 10/10, homemade. Cheesecake what can I say, just satisfying. The place is diner mode decor, simple, and clean. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. Definitely plan on a future visit. read more

Just had lunch with my mother here, we absolutely love this place and the food is always so good. Service is impeccable as well. Always a treat to get to see the owners and talk to them. A town steeped in Oklahoma's oil history is bound to have a few memories of that past. Mamadou's is such a place. The decor is minimalist 90's diner complete with nostalgic photos, well worn booths and dark faux wood floors. The menu is a diverse as a proper American diner. I ordered a prime rib and was served a very large portion. I asked for medium rare but only half of it could be considered so. Mamadou's Restaurant menu covers lunch and dinner, with a variety of sandwiches, diner style meals, steaks, daily specials and a menu for the kids. The faded sign out front advertises for their Bar and Lounge, with Karaoke every Friday and Saturday night. Inside the restaurant, there is a sign over one of the doors to guide customers to the bar in the back. The barely legible sign out front; it leaves you wondering if the bar is still operating. A cooler in the restaurant implies that beer is available. A big 12 oz ribeye, with fries, a side salad and today's vegie, green beans. The green beans seem to be the perpetual "daily vegetable." They show up in every Mamadou's customer's picture, and for good reason. Who doesn't like green beans and the green beans a Mamadou's are tasty; well-seasoned with bacon or ham. The dressing for the side salad appeared to be made in the restaurant. The ribeye steak was a generous 12 oz slab, cooked exactly as requested; a steak house perfect medium rare. Juicy, good beef flavor, wearing sear marks from the open flame grill. Unfortunately, it was tough. I could only salvage about half of it. My wife enjoyed an excellent catfish sandwich with fries. The restaurant is comfortable, nothing fancy, small town diner ambiance. Good friendly service. Mr. Momodou Ceesay, the owner came out from the kitchen to buss tables himself. He dropped by our table to greet us with a friendly smile. This restaurant is an icon of the Glenpool community that has been serving up good food since 1996. read more

I really really wanted to enjoy my food but I had a few issues. Ordered on recommendation the French onion soup. I was surprised to find that it was so salty that I couldn't eat it . The broth looked rich but actually tasted of Campbells French onion soup. Hardly any onions and just a small amount of cheese added. Not the more common bubbly over the bowl cheese topping. My daughter who ordered the large soup which she had before and agreed it was too salty but at least in her bowl she had a lot of onions. No matter , I ordered the blackened chicken over spicy pasta. To my utter surprise there was no flavor in the sauce other than the taste of cayenne. I love spicy food but this was absolutely bland . The chicken pieces were ok but I ended up only eating a few bites-as it was just impossible to eat something that had little flavor. I have passed this place for years on trips to Tulsa and was curious but never stopped until my last trip. I am really glad I did! I ordered the Philly sandwich and it was very good. The meat was shaved prime rib, and was very tasty. The bun was fresh and had a good texture. The fries were cooked well too. The service was quick and very friendly, and the owner stopped by my table to ask if everything was good. The next time I'm in the Tulsa area I will definitely be stopping in. read more

I heard someone say this was the best prime rib around, and I will have to agree. It was cooked perfectly and had a good beefy flavor. This restaurant was everything we wanted it to be and more. Service was excellent, food was delicious, and the place made you feel at home and cozy. You can tell the people who run Mamadou's really care; we were checked on by staff members several times throughout our meal and they were so kind. I got the 8 oz prime rib cooked medium rare with a Caesar salad, loaded baked potato, and green beans (my husband got the same but cooked medium), and we were so happy with our experience. Inconsistency of service for TAKE-OUT is disturbing. Rarely do we ever get our order correct. Example: last night, only ordered two large soups. One was potatoe soup, loaded. A solid restaurant for a great meal at a great price. We stopped by on a whim while we were traveling to Dallas. We both love prime rib, so we went for it. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was surprisingly open around dinner time. We tried the stuffed mushroom as an appetizer, and they were outstanding. Lots of cheese and the stuffing was almost like a dressing, very different; but tasty. Our salads came quickly and their house ranch is tangy and delicious. We ended up waiting from this point for 45 minutes. The waitress came by after about 25 minutes and told us our order was almost ready. Then she came back after another 10 minutes and said somehow they lost our ticket in the kitchen. She offered us a free dessert and said she would huddle them along. The prime rib was good, not outstanding; but good. It was a little on the cold side. Now the surprise was the green beans. They were done old school with ham and bacon! Overall we will come again, the price was reasonable, the food good, the wait staff really kept up with our drinks. Hopefully this was a one off on the order. Small but Very clean family owned resturant with all the fixings of Southern Comfort Food Stopped in there as it was a family favorite for Prime Rib it was Tender and ever so juicy. But I saw the Fried Catfish and that was all I needed to see and Boy o Boy it was Cajun Seasoned to perfection and Mouth watering.
