Got some takeout. I had fried fish, fries, and hushpuppies. My major turn off here was the frozen hushpuppies. I know they were frozen because they were frozen when I got home with the food 20 minutes after picking them up! The rest of the food was sort of ruined by this detail because then all I could think was everything was frozen and then tossed into a deep fryer. Yikes. WOW. Last time I ordered from this dump, they messed up the order. Called yea we will make it right. Just had another order picked up. They fixed the previous mistake But I ordered fries in their own and hot 12 fries. When asked they said it was a small. I wasn't asked what size I wanted. Shitty service all around. First time visit...and super impressed! Simple southern fare at a good price...what more can you ask for. Momma had the gumbo/fish/shrimp lunch special. She enjoyed all of it, especially the grilled shrimp! Grilling is an up charge, but worth it!! Gumbo had a wee bit of heat, which normally is a stopper for her...but she made it disappear. I had the Sami Q, chipped brisket with onions and peppers on a hogie roll. It was delicious and the brisket super tender. When we drove by at lunch this place was packed, and we now know why. My wife, daughter and I had a hankering for some fish and we decided to give this place a try since it was relatively close and had some good reviews. We arrived a little after 5 and I was immediately concerned because of the lack of a crowd. We all ordered the catfish and were very pleased with the serving size and the taste. First of all, the name "Sami's Southern Kitchen and More." It is in no way associated with the Sam's Southern Eatery that you may have seen in the Tulsa area. Sam's Southern Eatery is a large chain with restaurants scattered across ten or more states. They had a restaurant in Broken Arrow. I never tried it. Apparently not very good; they closed. Sami's Southern Kitchen and More, only has two locations right now, Sapulpa and Saint Peters, MO. It is a small company. With food this good I predict that it will grow. Their menu is large, covering most all essential southern foods: BBQ, chicken and seafood. Every time we have driven by at lunch hour the parking lot has been packed. Jim L.'s review and recommendation for the grilled shrimp got my attention. My wife had the 6 fried jumbo shrimp with the red beans and rice as the side. These were indeed large sized shrimp, with a crispy golden-brown coating. The beans and rice were amazing. Smokey tender beans floating on seasoned rice. They were so good I ordered a pint to take home. I ordered the 12 grilled shrimp meal. Fresh shrimp well coated in a blend of spicey Cajun seasoning and grilled with butter. Served with grilled peppers and onions. Fantastic! Along with it hush puppies and creamy fresh Cole slaw. Finally, I have found my Cajun / southern food restaurant. While surfing Yelp for restaurants that appears appealing. One place Sam's Southern Eatery popped up. They serve sea food and I like sea food. They also serve salads, chicken and other types of food that my wife would rather have. (She's not big on sea food). This restaurant also has a four star Yelp rating. I grabbed Deanna (my wife), jumped in the truck and drove 22 miles to Sapulpa. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived @ 7:30pm. The restaurant appeared to need a facelift, but was clean. We sat ourselves in a booth and was greeted by a very nice waitress. Who was actually the only waitress on duty. For an appetizer we ordered cheese sticks and fried green tomatoes. They were very good. I also ordered the fish, shrimp and oyster combo with red beens and rice with fries. Deanna ordered the chicken strip dinner with corn and fries. My dinner had two large fish filets that was good, three large shrimp that was also good. However ever the three fried oysters was very small and way overcooked. The fries was cold. And appeared to have been cooked sometime in advance. My red beans and rice likewise appeared to be overcooked and pasty. Deanna said her chicken was good, but the fries and corn was cold. They also offered several different types of sauce. This was not a bad idea, except they weren't identified. The waitress was wonderful and the food had a good taste. Get the Sami Sauce! ;) A local recommended that we lunch at Sami's while in the area. Lots of items available on the menu but by far the brisket chili is a don't miss item. Different from the usual and very good! We also enjoyed the basket with 2 fish, 2 shrimp, and 1 chicken with a side, complete with Sami sauce which is delicious. All the pieces were delightfully crispy and not overcooked but the sauce made up for the breading without a lot of flavor. It's definitely in the Sami sauce. They offer po' boys with just about any meat you'd like. We ordered one with fried oysters. It was plentiful, fresh, and pretty good. The waitress was so friendly and very hospitable with helping us choose some of their best items including small bowls of gumbo. She combined things nicely so that we could have a little of many different options. We never went without during our meal and glasses stayed full with refills. Top notch service. Best food in town! No matter what you get you won't be disappointed. We were just passing through and I always try to find places to eat and this place definitely lived up to its reviews. My son had the buffalo chicken wings (more like chicken legs) but who's complaining, I had the steak & cheese sandwich and corn nuggets which was delicious. My mother-in-law had the chicken livers and OMG they were so tender and great texture and flavor not greasy at all. Husband had the smoked chicken and it was equally amazing. The amount of flies landing on the food was a huge turn-off. The food was okay, the oyster poboy was soggy. The gumbo had a layer of grease I don't understand what they would have cooked that would have had that much grease in gumbo. For the same price you can go to Lasalle's downtown Tulsa and get better quality food and service. My daughter ordered buffalo wings, they brought out dry, overcooked chicken wings. When we said she ordered buffalo, the waitress brought out a side of their version of buffalo sauce. Staff was not attentive, we had to ask for silverware (plastic spoon), refills on water and took so long to come back after sitting us i decided not to order an app because of wait time. Okay. So this building is in the former Kum and Go location, which turned into Mariachis, which is now Sam's Southern Eatery. Let me tell you...I'm not a fried food fanatic. I'm also not a seafood fanatic unless it's certain things. Sam's does NOT disappoint. I have been there several times since they've opened. I LOVE the fresh-made Fried Green Tomatoes. They are heaven on Earth! I have had the shrimp salad, which I chose for $1.00 more to be grilled instead of fried. When I received my salad, it was HUMONGOUS! The salad was your basic iceberg lettuce, but fresh. The shrimps were HUGE, and they also put a grilled piece of fish on there to try at no cost. They've been adding lots of things no cost to your meals to try, but don't expect that every time. The shrimp was deliciously plump, juicy, and well seasoned. I did not have a shrimp that was anywhere near under cooked. My husband has had the fried shrimp. Not popcorn shrimp here, folks, probably medium sized shrimp, and 25 of them. The seasoning on them was perfect and they didn't overpower the rest of the meal. If I had any criticism, their sides are just basic sides. But, if you're wanting seafood, you're gonna love Sam's Southern Eatery! It stays busy constantly, so beware, especially during lunch and dinner times, the lot is packed. Atmosphere leaves a little to be desired considering the menu pricing. Some of the foods were fantastic and a few of them were average. The fried shrimp, fried chicken strips, rice & beans, and hushpuppies were all fantastic. The fried mushrooms appetizer was nothing to write home about. Very average. The fried green tomatoes were not the best I've had but weren't too bad. They do give you a lot of food but I feel the menu is a little over-priced in that I can pay the same amount and get a better atmosphere, service and options at an upscale restaurant. Overall it's a nice option if you don't feel like driving to Tulsa for a good meal out. It is definitely one of the better options in Sapulpa. I'd like to see some smaller portioned options with a little lower price point. Almost every table had several "to go" boxes when they left. read more

Omg what can I say I love this place and it better never leave!! The owner is so friendly and smiles all the time and makes you feel at home and if you make a suggestion, he listens to it. I absolutely love the gumbo and shrimp and the catfish and my favorite is the corn nuggets.!! I wanna tell everybody about it, but if I do then I'll never be able to get in because it'll be too busy but that's ok!! we go at least once a week, and he is always smiling and happy, and the food is always amazing!!! I suggested that he sells the rolls!! I think if you get the gumbo special, you should get bowls of gumbo so you should get two rolls but that's just my opinion because they are delicious!!! . I don't have any pictures but I love this place. I think this is the one in Bethany. Customer service is ALWAYS good. I have never ever felt like just another customer. And that's by the entire staff. I love their catfish. I will drive 45 minutes to get it. It's just so flaky and flavorful. My husband loves their red beans and rice and I love their okra. Not a huge fan of the Mac n cheese though. But everything else has been wonderful. Their hush puppies are soooo good. We love to eat here. read more

This place just opened recently. I think it's a great place for Sapulpa because Sapulpa doesn't have anything like this to eat. I had the catfish and shrimp with coleslaw and hush puppies. Very delicious! The owner even came out and gave us little cheesecakes. Very friendly. It may have been because it's new and very busy but the atmosphere just seemed a little chaotic and unorganized. Check some friends for lunch there because I love Sam's eatery and other locations this location however was not very good food was overcooked proportions were very small found a hare and one of the burgers manager on duty gave us 10% off and did not charge us for the burger very disappointed as I love livers gizzards fish and more probably will not go back to this location read more
