Oh my gosh!! This place is such a gem. The staff were unbelievably warm and welcoming. The young men who were waiting tables were so sweet and kept coming to check on me and gave me plenty of time to order, check out the menu, and enjoy the ambience of the restaurant. The back patio is so serene with the plants and the little fountain with the water running. I felt so safe and comfortable I could have stayed and read all day long. Not to mention the food was delicious! I had the rustic avo toast with a side of fruit. 10/10 I live out of town and I will for sure be coming back here when I come back to this area!! Love this homey breakfast spot in town. My favorite place by far. Love their benedicts and waffles! My man always enjoys their Alaskan scramble! Last time I got an order of scrambled eggs with cheddar and it was like my Grandma used to make them. Kind of blown away by the bad review, because they don't deliver. It's a small run business and if you're always only 4 minutes away then go in and enjoy the ambiance, or take your food to go. The girls who work there are the bomb.com. Always so friendly and smile when we walk in. It's a seat yourself restaurant, so you choose where you're comfortable. My one suggestion would be for them to get a door stopper, cause that front door really likes to slam, lol but definitely won't keep me away! read more

Great food. Love the waffles (best in Ukiah) and egg dishes. Service is great and best restaurant coffee. Pot of coffee brought to table. Muffins are delicious. In summer back patio is open. Great poached eggs, ask for soft poached. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Lunch salads are delicious as well as sandwiches. Easy parking in nearby lot and on School street. I love this place but dang... when I arrived i was told to sit anywhere but there were no open (clean) tables so i felt dumb just standing there, she pointed me to a dirty table and said it would be cleaned soon. I have seen it much more busy with far less staff. 20 minute wait for coffee and waitress with an attitude. Potatoes are cooked 3 times which can leave them oily and wayy too crunchy. Fiest boiled, then fried, then fried again right before going on your plate. They also put whole chunks of rosemary on top which is just too much. Perhaps grinding it in a spice/coffee grinder would be a good compromise? Thats about all I have negative ro say Anyway on a positive note this place has the BEST Hollandaise sauce ever, I dont eat eggs anymore but I CRAVE this sauce every now and then. Her Baked goods, while loaded with butter & sugar, are amazing. My favorites are the orange choc. chip and any lemon glazed muffin. Breadsticks GO FAST so call in and make sure they still have them if thats what youre going for. See offers lots of Gluten Free options both in baked goods and on the menu. I've been going to this restaurant for a few years, it's always been mediocre but I like to support small business in town. This last visit will be my last visit. Ordered a turkey melt, ( special of the day ). Waitress brought the sando with the cheese on the side. I asked what was up with that? A turkey MELT should have the cheese melted on the sando. Not rocket science. Why the cheese was on the side I don't know and don't care. They should have at least comped a drink or said "sorry about that" or something. Instead they just ignored my inquiry and I ate a $14 "Melt" and left a few pieces of cheese on a side plate for them to reuse or feed to the mice or something. The whole thing was just weird. After being a regular customer, always giving 20% tips, this was just lame. I will take my business elsewhere. Tastebuds or Schatts are much better food for the same price or less. read more

Got the baked bacon broccoli bowl and there's a bunch of old over done broccoli and potatoes... and little bit of cheese and extra crispy bacon... pretty below average but I guess you can get away with that when there's not many options in town. This place used to be really good but every time I go there it gets worse and worse. I have had both delivery and ordered here and both times had problems. On Mother's Day we ordered delivery of three meals and 3 drinks. The meals were delivered cold and the drinks were not even delivered. Phones calls went unanswered as well as messages though their facebook page. Going there to eat is no better because the staff will avoid eye contact in an attempt to not have to seat you. The food is good about half the time but one more than one occasion it has been inedible. Their hollandaise sauce is salty and sour as if it's made with only lemon juice. I don't recommend as there are two other spots near by that serve amazing food. read more

We had an awesome breakfast at Mama's Cafe! It's a little tricky to find because the entry doors and the sign are obscured by trees. The cafe is directly across the street from the Maple Cafe. It's definitely worth finding for breakfast or lunch. Mama's is actually 2 separate spaces with 2 separate entry doors, a bakery on the left side and a sit-down restaurant on the right side. They're connected by a pass-through window. So if you order coffee or a pastry in the cafe, it will be passed through to your server from the bakery side--pretty cool! I read the negative reviews about messed up orders, bad food, and slow service. My daughter and I didn't experience anything like this. The food was awesome. Our orders were correct and they came out quickly. The service was also very good and our server was on top of everything. She had a very pleasant demeanor. Thanks, Mama's Cafe! I understand many businesses are doing their best during the times of COVID-19.... now Mama's Cafe and Bakery has a nice homie atmosphere and a good food selection for eating.... but their servers are not great. Maybe it's just me, but what I notice every time I eat, which is alone, and other individuals that eat alone, don't get great service. I do see many people smiling and enjoying their time and to each their own; but I want good service and that should be expected when it comes to a restaurant that is labeled as four stars right? Now I come here because of the food, which is to my liking, but every time I get, not so great service... it's just a "hi, choose a seat, what would you like" and then THATS it.... no checking in EVER "how is everything? Are you still doing good? Can I get you anything else?" No it just goes straight to the bill AND even at the bill there is no "was everything to your liking?" Etc. Only upon entry and ordering is there a very small amount of communication from whatever server I get..... Now like I said I notice this with people who go and eat by themselves, because I do notice more of a server experience with people who go in groups of three or more and I don't know why that is here. Once again Good food, thank you kitchen for all you do, but I think.... for a four star restaurant, need better service. read more

This was a sweet little cafe that served a very basic yet pretty tasty breakfast. Waitstaff was kind and prompt. There was a beautiful patio out back that you could dine on. Food is good and consistent. However, they will absolutely never answer the phone so you can't call in an order. We ordered online and paid and went in to pick up our breakfast and they said it hadn't printed out so we had to wait another 20 minutes for it. Always such a hassle to eat here. read more
