Good family friendly environment. I have eaten here twice. The first time I had the chicken fried steak and then got the strawberry banana pie. I don't know if it was the time in between visits or if the food wasn't that memorable but I didn't exactly remember what I got. This last time I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was big and flavorful. It was not over spicy either. I like spicy and the was just right to me. I will continue to go. read more

After reading so many positive reviews and eating at the original Mama's, I was excited to try this place out. The food was very disappointing. Nothing like the original, I had chicken and dumplings (greenish color and a few dumplings and not much chicken), mac n cheese (TOO MUCH WATER), and mashed potatoes. I thought they might be having a bad day so I went back 2 more times and will never go back. Not sure how they stay in business. read more

So glad these folks showed up in Forney. Good food. Good service. Helpful and friendly staff. Very reasonable. Napoli's, Alfredo's and some of the other pretenders in town may want to gather their staff and come down on a field trip to see how it is done at a well run restaurant. read more

I took my wife to breakfast this morning. It was miserable. We were sited in the back room, next to a group of about fifteen ladies. The noise was so intense it was painful. With the ladies laughing, talking across the tables and screaming, we gave up trying to talk to each other. I have been to rock concerts with less noise. My wife and I did not have a good experience. I have been there many times for lunch. The service is one of the fastest in the area so even when there is a line, you are seated very quickly. the specials are very good and you get a lot for your money. The only trouble is that you get so much food that you will have a hard time saving room for one of their home made pies which are great. read more

Like going to your mom's for Sunday dinner !! Everything was steaming hot when it arrived ! I chose Chicken and Dumplings, very generous side salad with home made dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese. Everything was home made just like your mamma made !! Service was excellent, could not have been better. Don't you just dream of having all your food steaming when it arrives !!!!! Go on Friday or Sunday, my friend had Chicken and Dressing just like your mom made and you dream of !!!!!! They make it both of these days. We just bought a house in Forney and were excited to try this place that was recommended by our title company. We arrived around 9:30 a.m. on a Sunday and were promptly seated by the kitchen. Our waitress was very friendly and brought us our coffee and juice right away. I ordered the scrambled eggs with biscuits/gravy and hashbrowns and added sausage. I did notice it took a little longer than anticipated for our food to arrive but when it did, it was worth the wait! My eggs were fluffy and the hashbrowns were so good! The biscuits were soft and buttery and the gravy had just enough pepper and bits of sausage in it. My fiance's bacon was amazing, would definitely get that over the sausage next time! He said their pancakes were really good as well! Overall, pretty good service, great family atmosphere and a traditional diner experience. I will say we left smelling like food and grease due to our location by the kitchen, but I will definitely be back for lunch and dessert next time! read more
