Went in because of positive reviews from fellow yelpers with regards to their boba drinks and donuts. Today, decided to give their boba a try, as well as their donuts. Decided to get a mocha blended with boba and a couple glazed blueberry donuts. The mocha drink was pretty good but the boba was very soft and mushy. As for the blueberry cake donut, it was okay but nothing to rave home about. Overall, legit donut place. They also make sandwiches but I didn't get to try one. I stopped by here last week and they were very friendly there. The food is amazing. Donuts are fresh and the menu is very big. You can come for breakfast or lunch since they do make sandwiches. Two words: Maple Bar. The Maple bars are AMAZING. The rest of their donuts are also very good and come in the usual varieties (e.g. glazed, sugar, bear claws, danishes, fritters, etc.). The service is unbelievably nice and they'll usually throw in handfuls of donut holes (given a certain minimum order) just because that's what they do. Cops also frequent the establishment which should say something, aside from a certain police stereotype. read more

This little shop is right by my workplace, so I stop by occasionally and am never disappointed. Everyone that works there is very friendly. It gets crowded in the morning, but the service is super quick. Their subs are alright. You can get a chicken blt with avocado for around $6. I think that most of the good reviews on yelp are doctored by friends or relatives, and personally, I normally log on and leave on opinion only after I was mistreated and/or scammed. Well, not today!! I love this place and have been going there daily for years. You get fresh, quality food and a generous serving of coffee for pretty much half the price of what you'd pay in Starbucks(where I've terminated my patronage after discovering this place). You also get faster service-as it appears that these folks have written some sort of an algorithm on how to keep traffic moving. I'm not kidding. When they see you pull up in the parking lot they prepare what you normally get and you're on your way in under a minute. Amazing! We've been going to Mama's Donuts for 11 years now, and can honestly say they make the best donuts, pastries, and croissants in L.A., bar none!! Mama's is owned and operated by a charming Vietnamese family spanning several generations. They all learned our names from our first visit, and greeted us by name ever since! They make you feel like family! Their donuts are always fresh, but to get the best pick, get there early, because so many sell out fast! Our faves include the chocolate chip croissants, ham and cheese croissants, raisin Danish pastry swirl, and their glazed donuts are so fluffy and light! We have to take periodic breaks, since it's so easy to get addicted to their yummy fare! They also make Cappucino, iced blended coffees...everything they make is fantastic and well-priced. The man that helped me was nice. I've never bought a donut before. He knew I loved blueberry when I walked in. I got a blueberry cake donut and a cinnamon crumb cake donut and he put 2 donut balls in my bag too. I think he was the donut master. I was almost going to cry because it was my first time buying a donut. I thought he would think "why is this weirdo here at 4am getting a donut?!" let me tell you something...this place is so good, you'll have to go to your doctor first to make sure your clear to eat these donuts as often as your about to. and it's not even just about the donuts here. don't get it twisted by the name. they have other foods that are excellent. simple and great. the donuts are made fresh daily, probably multiple times a day I would imagine. I usually find myself here around 4-5am when they open. I get a few donuts, all are delicious so I'm not going to single out any of them. then I get 2 chicken breast sandwiches to take home also. those are where it's at. there is just great flavor in those, and it's just chicken, bacon, some mayo and jalapeno slices, onion and tomato I think. it's great. on the roll and he puts it on a double sided grill. a must have. the family that owns it are also real cool people. never had any issues with them. they've always shown they're customers respect when I've been there. and I've seen them outside the shop in the area, and they've been cool then to. prices are good, no issues there either. only issue is location. the area is a bad area unfortunately. other then the bad area, this family has perfected the donut. go try them out if you haven't. read more

I had really high expectations on my first visit to Mama's Donuts, especially after seeing all the great reviews and photos of donuts. Those expectations were immediately crushed when I walked in and found that there were hardly any of the "fancy" donuts shown in the numerous Yelp photos. The visit was only made worse when I sat down to enjoy my donuts and a roach crawled across the table. This roach was fearless. He didn't even flinch when I grabbed my napkin to kill it. Needless to say, my donut experience was over. The staff, while very nice, didn't seem at all surprised when told about the roach on the table. I ended up leaving 4 cronuts on a nearby bench for someone else to enjoy. I couldn't bring myself to eat them after being joined by an unexpected "guest." read more

I've been coming to this place for over a year now. What I love is how they remember everyone and treat everyone so well. This is just a place that gets it right every time. Like I said, I've been coming for over a year and have yet to have a bad experience. I have yet to have anything, but a great experience. Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing. I rarely write reviews but this time I feel that I have no other choice. I purchased 4 muffins and half a dozen doughnuts to go on Sunday morning. One of the cinnamon glazed doughnuts had a hair on it and after being grossed out and throwing it out we moved on, however, today when I was eating one of the rasin bran muffins, I found a hair in, I threw the disgusting thing out and now I'm wondering how many people are eating these products without realizing what they are really eating.
