Kind of dimly lit but clean and spacious, I believe this is the only Korean cuisine restaurant within this area unless you head towards Temecula so their prices are a little on the higher end. Service was great, all the employees are very friendly and attentive. We got the tofu soup which came with a side of rice and an egg, kalguksu, bibimbap, and an order of egg rolls. Unlike most korean restaurants, only certain entrees will come with 5 banchans (side dishes) for the whole table, in our case it came with our bibimbap. Everything was really good, classic flavors. The eggrolls I believe were veggie based.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in Menifee! We were welcomed as soon as we walked in by our server, Micah who was amazing!! Very attentive, explained the menu, and gave solid recommendations. The restaurant is clean, spacious and clearly family‑owned, which gives it a warm, homey vibe. Mama's Kitchen is the real deal. It's not an all‑you‑can‑eat or cook‑your‑own type of spot. This is true Korean home cooking, made fresh by Mama herself in the kitchen. The name couldn't be more accurate. The menu offers a good variety of different dishes, which are big enough to share between 2 people. We ordered the Japchae and the Korean short ribs (Galbi), which came with steamed rice and five small plates of banchan. The dishes were the perfect amount for my mom and me to share. Everything was delicious. The Galbi was melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender, and the Japchae was seasoned just right with bulgogi and shiitake mushrooms. The banchans definitely hit the spot. I couldn't get enough of the fish cake, shredded daikon kimchi, and cucumber kimchi. The only thing I would suggest, is the size of their banchan! Their serving size were very small amounts. This was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. Mama even came out to check on us, welcomed us personally, and even took a picture with my Mama!! Overall I was quite pleased with our food, even my pickiest critic, my mom, gave it her official Mom's Stamp of Approval, so we'll definitely be back.

We stopped here on a road trip just off the highway. Love the homie and family owned vibe from the get go. Prices are quite high for the area more like LA prices. Katsu was listed as "giant" which was anything but that. It was large but super thin, almost felt like complaining. The mackerel was the star dish and grilled to absolute perfection and juicy, highly recommend. The rest of the dishes were pretty much just ok. A decent stop but the rating here appears too high IMHO

My family and I moved here from OC a couple years ago and we frequently go back there for various reasons but we were craving Korean food after church in the area and stumbled upon this place. I'm not sure if it's because there are so many Korean food options in Orange County that this in comparison seems just okay. The food did seem a little overpriced compared to other places I've been to but I can understand that there's not really a lot of competition out here. The service was really nice! We had a couple questions about the dishes and our server made sure they were all answered. It's a nice and chill spot to go to if you're ever craving Korean food and in the area.

I usually don't write reviews but I was so pleasantly surprised at this place. Immediately walking in, the server was really busy but very attentive and really nice. The food is a bit on the pricier side but that's expected for this type of restaurant. Food was a 9.5/10, felt like a home cooked Korean meal and the sides were generous and yummy. Would highly recommended the tofu soup and the spicy pork belly dish with kimchi, both were 10/10!! I'm not sure if the lady that cooked was the owner but it looked like she had taken the time to come out and check on some of the elderly tables which I thought was so sweet. Very happy about this place, I could see myself as a regular here

Finally!! A place in Menifee with delicious flavor! Mama's Kitchen is amazing and absolutely what we needed in our little community. Service was terrific, our waitress was very helpful in assisting in our dinner selections. The complementary salad and sides were also great! We ordered the Spicy pork and short ribs...speechless! Oh my goodness! What an amazing new spot! My boyfriend and I just went in to try this last night and it was really incredible. I should've taken more pictures, but we just dove right in. We both had the rice plate entrees, he had his with beef and I got mine with tofu, and they were incredible! The freshness of this food was unbeatable. The establishment was incredibly clean, the service was good & I will be back here so many more times. I loved all the various accoutrements provided with the food from the cucumber and cabbage kimchi to the Japanese style potato salad that was SO GOOD! Starting a new business can be really hard and you can tell the people working her have been trying their absolute best to make it amazing for their customers. Our go to for Korean food is OK TOFU in Riverside. We visited friends who live closer to Mama's kitchen so decided to try out Mama's kitchen. The food was good. We were commenting this might be giving OK TOFU competition for our business. Then we asked for more sides (banchan)... we were told we could only get 2 more sides for free, and we would be charged for any after the 2. Banchan is part of the Korean meal experience... so we said of course, we would pay. Well- the portion of the banchan refills were smaller than the first round, and I kid you not when I say... the potato salad banchan was literally a tablespoon. And all the others were just as small. A tablespoon serving of the sides... and they charged us $2 for each. I couldn't believe they charged us $2 for a tablespoon size of each side. Sad to say, that left a bad taste in our mouths... and we will gladly give our business to OK Tofu where the banchan flows generously and FREEly. read more

We stumbled upon this gem heading home from Joshua tree to SD, I ordered the tofu soup with short beef ribs, and my bf ordered the tofu soup with spicy pork, These orders came with your little sides of rice, kimchi, bean sprouts, etc. we were EXTREMELY pleased by the food it was so good! The workers were so attentive & such good customer care. The owner came out to greet everyone & making sure we were enjoying the food which was a plus she is so sweet. The environment was calm and relaxing to have a hot soup on a cold night. Definitely recommend & we can't wait to come back! read more

Finally tried this place out and wish I hadn't! Terrible food and misleading server! Was told that the portion would be a good size, but was so tiny! Food was bland and cold! Worst Korean food ever! Will never go back! Next door is a wonderful Thai restaurant called Melody Thai, but this place is awful! read more

This place is going to be a new regular stop for us! My family and I sat down here on Sunday. The service was great. The food was even better. The dish had great flavor and the option were pretty broad. This was great as we count carbs to maintain blood sugar. The dish was big enough to share especially spam fried rice. The beef tofu soup and ribs was a winner also. We really enjoyed the atmosphere as well. My 2 year old could eat the fried rice without any additional cutting which was a nice bonus! read more

I was out there for a weekend getaway. I need some Korean soul food so I Yelped around for a bit and stumbled across this place. For a party of four, we got beef short ribs, beef rib soup, marinated chicken, and tofu soup. I was expecting much tbh, but I was wrong. Two of our friends had to get an extra bowl of rice to finish the dishes. You know the food is good when someone orders an extra bowl of rice. It was just like eating at granny's house. The food was authentic and made me feel like I was back at my grandma's house. Had I lived closer, this place would be my go-to place for o.g. Korean food. Highly recommendable. read more

Best Korean restaurant in the area, hands down. Check this place out, it's absolutely amazing and authentic. I've been living in Menifee since 2010 and this place is a god send, especially if you love Korean cuisine. My family and I used to travel to Los Angeles to get our Korean food fix, but thanks to Mama's Kitchen it's only a few mins away. Give it a try you won't regret it. read more

Way too expensive, tried going in today and had to walk out, no one unless they're trying to burn their cash could eat here in this economy! $35 for JUST korean beef, NOTHING included! Meanwhile any other authentic kbbq would have all you can eat for $30, including lots sides and other PRIME meats. I wish they didn't price EVERYTHING on the menu so ridiculously expensive. I don't mind driving to Oceanside or SD to enjoy more affordable korean bbq without have to pay an arm and a leg. Sadly I can't sacrifice an entire paycheck on one meal just to support a new mom and pop restaurant :( read more

The food was delicious. I got the tofu soup combo w bulgogi. Mama chef has an amazing balance of flavors in her dishes. A little sweet, spicy- but not overwhelming. The tofu is very very soft. The meat is tender. The sides are good. The chef came out to say hi what a sweetie! & you can tell she made it with a lot of love worth the price as portions are big & I got to take leftovers home. Really nice waitress & a pretty relaxing place to eat. Will be back very soon! read more

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I could cry. Finally Menifee had something to offer! That's not a chain restaurant. We ordered the tofu soup with beef. So yummy and perfect on a cold day. Japchae is always a must especially if you have little ones. And bulgogi is always yummy! Ordered take out and it came with soup on the side and all kinds of other sides like like you would normally get at a kbbq spots. 100/10 recommend and we will definitely be coming back!!! read more

Ordered our food to go for Valentines dinner at home. We were prepared to wait and they were upfront and honest about the wait time as they were busy. We had the spare ribs, marinated chicken, and spam fried rice. Everything was 10/10. We live near by and we're definitely coming back for more soon. Service was fantastic. Trust me when I say the food is delicious. It's not all you can eat and the portions may not be enough for some but it was enough for me. And you may not think the price is reasonable. Price is high for the portions you get! The service with a specific girl is NO Good!! With two other girls there has been no problem. The place is open and very clean. If you're craving Korean and you're near by. Stop and try it out. read more

I have been going to Orange County to have Korean food as I could not find a Korean restaurant near my home. I was very excited when I found Mama's Kitchen. My husband and I came here for dinner tonight and we were pleasantly surprised as the food was very good. Customer service was great as well. Food is OK but way too overpriced. Place was understaffed and 1 waitress was very rude. We ordered appetizer and main dish but our entree came out before the appetizer. Asked them about it, they said they are working on it. Fine we just ate our entree. They didn't bring out the appetizer until after we were done eating. We asked the waitress for the tab and my husband very politely asked if we can just put it in to go box because we're already done eating but she gave us an attitude saying we should have told her earlier like it's our fault that they brought it out late. read more

Glad to have Tofu Soup in the area.,. Perfect for cold weather. The food was pretty descent, the tofu soup is the bomb, I just wish they have a Non-Spicy option... the spicy level is Mild & Spicy only... pls pls pls have a Non Spicy option?!? Another PLUS is they have the fish option, most of the Tofu Place I've been through has NO Fish option, i love me some Mackerel. Very quiet and clean environment, staff are pretty friendly aswell. Please Do Not take this review for granted! If you are looking for great food, this is the place. To start off the service is amazing, very attentive. The owner "Mama" came to our table and greeted us and made us feel like at home. The food is amazing with huge portions and full of flavor. Overall it is well worth it. read more

A special shoutout to Candace for providing friendly and attentive service throughout our visit. Oh, me and my family highly recommend Mama's Kitchen! Not only do we love mama herself, but we love her daughter who works there and all their staff ! Not to mention the food is amazing, never had anything we could not eat! All I will say is try everything because it's all good! And we love the ambient stair. Because we can watch K-Pop while we're eating...lol! My daughter especially lives K-pop! This is definitely one of those diamonds in the rough and encourage people to come. I've already went twice and it's still my fav korean restaurant in menifee. There's plenty of food. They actually told me one dish is at least 2 servings. Which I really thought was convenient. I really enjoy my experiences there. The service was nice and it was pretty clean. The servers seem a little choppy when it's busy but they're really kind since it just opened. I can see why people are scared of coming into the restaurant because of ghe price but there's a lot of food coming out in that 20-30 dollar dish. They made sure to pack the dry salads in a takeout box and put the mixed proteins in their marinades in another soup containers which was perfect and made it so easy to add on top when ready. I really love that idea! Not only that but the food was good. I really enjoyed the squid salad it had a nice sour balance. The papaya salad I requested Lao style to be the spiciest level 10 but it actually wasn't too spicy. Other restaurants definitely need to take notes because I really just had a bad experience with another Thai restaurant being so careless and my papaya salad sauce spilling not only in the bag but dripped all over my floors.
