Our friend ordered a pork belly adobo silog and he loved it! For context, this is his first time having Filipino breakfast. He will be dreaming about this for a very long time. My boyfriend got the bagnet Kare Kare. He quite enjoyed the clay pot experience and enjoyed the crispy pork belly. I got the bulgogi silog and I liked that it was a nice twist on tocilog. My family and I stopped by while we were out and thought about checking out Tapsi House since somebody recommended it. We got to the parking lot and noticed it wasn't very busy at all. We were able to find the restaurant tucked a bit to the side, and we were happy to see that there was a lot more space inside. The interior has nice decorations, clean floors and tables, and a relaxed atmosphere. There is also a big section that looks like it could be used for karaoke, parties, or even hosting events. We went to the front and were able to look through the menu before ordering. Thankfully, it was quick and easy to order. We did have to grab our own fountain drinks on the side. We got the pancit bihon, lechon kawali, sisig, and tapsilog. All of the food was very delicious and not too greasy. The lechon had a nice flavor and even better crunch to it. The pancit was not soggy and had a nice chew, along with a light flavor. The vegetables also weren't too watery, which was good. The tapsilog had a nice, rich flavor without being too salty. My favorite was the sisig, which was sizzling as it came out. The flavors blended together for rich, creamy, yet crunchy bites every time. Overall, I was very impressed with Tapsi House. The one star was for our server, the rest I give zero stars. We've given this place so many chances to improve its food, ambiance and overall customer service but fails everytime we dined in. We went the day after Thanksgiving and the place was closed. So before we went on Saturday, I called first to make sure they are open. The Lady who answered was rude and very sarcastic to start off. When we got there, we waited inside, by the door to get seated. The Lady (sounded like who answered the phone), just yelled while she was behind the counter and said "Just sit anywhere this side only". No greetings at all, again sounding so rude. Fortunately she was not our server. When my Mom approached the counter to ask for Coconut Water, the same Lady behind the counter automatically said no Coconut Water! My Mom pointed at the Coconut Juice and the Lady screamed and said "This is NOT Coconut Water its Coconut Jiuce!" Wow. My Mom then asked for a straw, and Lady mocked my Mom's Filipino accent for saying the word straw. To the owner of this place, I hope you teach that Lady some manners. Lastly about the Food. Tasted like leftovers. The Pancit Bihon hardly had any ingredients and most of the Noodles were stuck together, like it wasn't fully stirred when they were cooking it or they warmed this Pancit so many times the noodles got sturdy. Then the Beef KareKare was soooooooo salty. I think they added a whole bottle of the Bagoong Alamang just to make it taste like Kare Kare. Extremely Disappointing Experience We were really looking forward to trying Tapsi House Cafe and Grill in Lake Elsinore, but our experience was far from satisfactory. First, the food presentation was unacceptable. We ordered two different items, yet everything was served in one regular bowl, with all the food mixed together. There was no effort to separate the dishes, which completely ruined the presentation and made the meal messy and unappetizing. The portion sizes were shockingly small for the price we paid. The lady who served us gave very minimal amounts of food, which felt unfair and not worth the cost at all. For what we paid, we expected proper portions, not tiny servings. The biggest disappointment was the Halo-Halo. What we received was not Halo-Halo. It was basically melted ice with milk and a very small scoop of ice cream on top--none of the traditional Halo-Halo ingredients like beans, jellies, or fruits. It honestly looked like it had been prepared a long time before being served because it was already completely melted when it reached our table. Overall, the quality, portions, and presentation did not meet expectations at all. For a Filipino restaurant, this experience was especially disappointing. It's a bit of a challenge to find this place because there's no signage yet. They are located near Bath & Body Works. We've been here several times already after we tried their food. I've tried their Beef Kare-Kare, Beef Steak, Tapsilog, Pinoy Spaghetti... all winners! Although they need to explain you have the option to have garlic fried rice versus garlic over plain rice. The food was good. I really like their selections for the boodle flight platter. The restaurant set up looked a little confusing. Part of it is a venue for parties and the other half is seating for the restaurant and the other part is food ready to go. The service was a little confusing as well. I am all for supporting small businesses - especially Filipino ones - but I need to leave an honest review for this place. One of the first things I noticed prior to entering was a sign posted on their window that basically said that they were hiring for every possible position. That should have been my first red flag. The service was extremely inefficient. There was only 1 more party (of 4 people) that was seated. Rather than being acknowledged, the server/cashier had her back towards the counter and was busy making their halo halo drinks. Then she proceeded to do something else before she acknowledged us. My cousin ordered for her and her kids first. We told the server that we were ordering separately. After taking my cousin's order, the server proceeded to turn her back to prepare I don't know what before she turned to me and asked for my order. I didn't ask for a printed receipt but luckily was given one. My cousin and her kids got their food in an average time, but after waiting nearly an hour for my order and being reassured that it was "on it's way", was asked if I paid because she couldn't find my order anymore. I presented my receipt then was told "5 more minutes". I honestly lost my appetite while waiting. The food itself was good but the service was such a huge drawback that I cannot in good faith recommend this place. I hope they find the help thay they need. I would like to start by saying the customer service here was phenomenal and would give it 5 stars alone. I stopped to charge my Tesla and wanted a snack I saw that they had lumpia and decided to give this place a try. I got a bowl with fried rice, veggies, and beef that was all premade. Best way to explain the bowl was it tasted like it was homemade which hit the comfort spot. The beef was a little tough in my opinion but the veggies were seasoned nicely. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is the lumpia tasted like it was store bought which was still good but I was hoping for that fresh homemade lumpia taste. I was so excited when Tapsi House Cafe & Grill opened up, especially in an area where there are very few restaurant options that I like. The restaurant has been evolving nicely since they first opened in July 2024. They've gotten more organized and made the place look more lovely and inviting with floral decor surrounding the dining space. They just started a traditional continental Filipino breakfast AYCE buffet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 (sometimes later--flexible schedule). Options include fried fish, pork longanisa sweet sausage, fried eggs, pork tocino (marinated sweet pork), marinated fried beef tapa, various glutinous rice cakes (puto, bibinka, kucinta), arroz caldo savory rice porridge, sweet chocolate porridge, fruit (like orange slices) and beverage. I can't wait to participate in their Karaoke Night on Fridays from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm. They also have an AYCE dinner buffet on Fridays from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. We ordered the: - Lechon Kawali Sisig Plate Overall: 9/10 (would be a 10/10 but I def needed more rice but flavor was on point and the lechon stayed juicy! - Pancit Malabon Overall: 9/10 (would be a 10/10 but it was lacking some protein, def needed more. Although the balance between the noodles and sauce and flavoring was just right!) - Hongkong Siomai Overall: 8/10 (absolutely meaty and you get your money's worth! I tried the palabok and turon to go. The restaurant was warm inside, and surprisingly quite dark, even though it was daytime. The palabok itself had a decent taste -- not bad at all. I actually liked that it had a hint of tinapa flavor, which gave it an authentic touch. It was a bit on the bland side, but still enjoyable. That said, the portion size could've been better. It left me wanting more. I also got turon, which looked promising in the poster. But when I bit into it, I was expecting it to be sweeter -- it definitely needed more sugar or caramelization. It didn't quite measure up to the turon I usually get from Filipino stores. Our server was courteous and professional, but unfortunately lacked familiarity with the menu. He had to make several trips back to the kitchen to answer basic questions about the dishes. Additionally, we were served vinegar with our orders of palabok and turon, which was not appropriate for either dish. Overall, not a bad spot. My family and I met our friends who also appreciate good Filipino food and karaoke. Our first visit here was a memorable one. We went on a Friday Buffet night. I really like the beautiful floral decor and twinkle lights that made the restaurant look festive. We were greeted by a friendly woman who guided us on what food they offer. Little did I know she's the owner. Her name is Nikka, whom I had the pleasure of meeting. I admire her hands-on approach. Though she's got a team of people there to serve, bus, serve food, and check on us customers, she did the same especially with more people coming in. She and her staff were attentive and made sure the food was replenished at the buffet and our tables cleared. The dishes were so delicious! Most of the meat were tenderlicious (maybe it's a regional thing to have the pork adobo a little on the firm side and same with the tocino like how my Ilocano Grandpa would make them...still very tasty though!). I also love that they have a variety of vegetable dishes. Out of all the dishes, though I enjoyed everything, the ones that stood out the most are their Bicol Express, Pakbet and other stews with veggies &meat, chopped Cebuchon (not pictured, sorry) with tender meat and perfectly crispy skin. I wished they had lumpia Shanghai or some lumpia, but I would understand it might be something to order on the side to ensure crispiness. The desserts were okay, as I think it'd be better to have turon, leche flan, and maybe small servings of cake (like ube, mocha...). Karaoke was fun for all. No more long drives to Cerritos (LA County), this place delivers authentic Filipino flavors right here in Lake Elsinore (where the Outlet is/next to Bath & Body works). Ashlee is amazing ! We had our baby shower with Tapsi! They rented out a large event room right next door to the restaurant, which included catering, tables, chairs, tablecloths, sashes, and more. If you wanted to add on to the package you can too. It was so beautiful and I'm so thankful for Ashlee and her staff that helped with our event!! Once we found the place, it was very nice, clean, staff was very friendly, and i was amazed that the place could be a karaoke night party place.
