Most of the reviews were positive and I saw a customer eating pizza at my hotel which was why I ordered. The lady on the phone was nice and very helpful when it came to placing my order. When we got to the store the pizza was pretty much ready a very short wait. The pizza itself looked great, I couldn't wait to try some. The waitress did offer some Parmesan cheese so we had a good start. The slice's were a nice sized. When we got back to the room to eat the pizza it was very disappointing. It had nice size vegetables and cheese but still lacking flavor. The pizza was very bland. I thought it would have had more flavor but it didn't. The crust was a little hard to chew. One review mentioned the toppings falling off. That happened with me as well. I added some of the Parmesan to try to get more flavor but it didn't really help. This place is great. Visited for lunch on a Saturday. My bf and I drove by the area bc we originally wanted Mexican next door but it was closed for some reason so we ended up trying out this place. Their service is great and the place has plenty of seating. We ordered a slice of the meatball pizza, pep, mushroooms/blk olive pizza, and shared mozzarella triangles. The slices are huge - super filling. Food came fast and fresh so that was a plus since I was super starving. I have nightmares every time I hear the name of this restaurant. My office loves to both go here and bring it as takeout. No amount of times can get me to like it. The lunch deals are good, but that's about it. The crust tastes like cardboard and the pizza itself is insanely greasy. Duh, all pizza is greasy, but this takes it to a new level. We have been going to Mama's since they were in the old Roswell strip mall next to the old Roswell Village Theater when the grandfather ran the place.Followed then to Milton parkway location and now NY North Point. Where do I begin???? Let's just start with they have a health score rating of A! Upon entering I was greeted with a warm "hello welcome to Mama's pizza" I only wanted a slice because it's hard to find a pizza place that makes pizza they way I like..... the way they make in Boston. I was pleasantly surprise to find they offer both Neapolitan and Sicilian slices, what more could a pizza lover ask for??? As you can see from my picture my plan was to take my slice to go, you can also see I took bite to taste before heading on my way. That first bite immediately exuded a sound of YES! This is the style of pizza I have been looking for, compliments to the chef! He appeared in the window to receive orders and I immediately gave him a thumbs up and he acknowledged with bow of the head. I asked my waitress the history and I learned Jimmy (the owner/chef) was running a second generation business that started in NY. He has been so successful that even his distributors were able to make a way to supply his business needs in Atlanta.... so literally NOTHING has changed with this business except the location. This pizza joint was a bit disappointing. The thin crust was soggy and very chewy. I've eaten from many NY style joints and this seemed a little overpriced for the quality of the pizza. The cheese on the pizza fell off quite easily. We also tried the mozzarella sticks, and these tasted baked and not very crispy. They also needed more salt. If you are looking a NY Pizza place this is pretty close. The pizza is good and the staff are rude AF! Pretty much NY style to me.

Let me preface this review by saying that I have known Jimmy and his father Pete since I first moved to Georgia through my mother. She would be proud that I am still supporting this family, because they really are good people with the knowledge of how to make clean, simple pizza-related foods. I have now visited Mama's at all three of the their locations, and this one is no different, minus the fact that the original location at Roswell Mall had arcade games that my brother and I used to play against now-owner Jimmy. Setting the wayback machine back to 1993, we used to eat at Mama's Pizza while waiting for a movie at the now defunct movie theater in Roswell Mall. Wow, how times have changed. Dining in during the current Virus has really put a damper on restaurants, so what better way to support Mama's then to show them some love. This was my first visit to the new location, which is just OK, but it gets the job done, and it puts you near Northpoint Mall and all of the associated businesses which is good for Jimmy and crew. I wasn't fond of the previous spot, but at least they were carrying on, right? Like I mentioned earlier, the food is simple but well done. Don't expect a life-changing experience beyond that of the carbohydrates that will nourish your movements later on in the day. The pizza is not a niche-type pie with crazy toppings, but rather a simple take of New York style along with fresh salads. Nothing here is bad, and nothing here is Michelin-rated, so take it as you will. I will gladly come back ASAP and support Jimmy and his family like I have been doing since I was a little kid. read more

Let me precurse this with the fact that we had ordered through Uber eats and haven't actually eaten at the restaurant. The food was good but it was nothing extraordinary. I ordered the chicken fingers which were OK and a little dry. My husband ordered the baked ziti which he said he enjoyed. We also ordered a Sicilian pizza. I'm not sure what we were expecting but it is basically the focaccia bread with mozzarella cheese on it. It is quite big and was decent but again nothing stood out about it. By far the best pizza I have had since living in Georgia. Staff was great. I had a few slices of thin crust and my wife had the Sicilian. She loved it. First time here, after the lunch rush crowd. Had a sausage slice and a cheese slice, made this Yankee transplant feel like I was back North. A challenging review. Overall, I would say our first experience was a good one. Very friendly staff, a fun old-style Italian layout and style. Our satisfaction with the food had some wildly varying ups and downs. No single dish seemed to really bring it all together. The appetizer of mozzarella triangles came out seasoned and crispy, but the marinara was stunningly bland. Fortunately there was crushed red pepper at the table - that, along with some garlic powder and the sauce came somewhat to life. Our lunch consisted of the sausage and pepperoni Stromboli. It was golden brown, firm yet soft - overall excellent. But again, there was the bland marinara. Once more to the seasoning shakers. Our second half of our lunch were 2 slices of spinach and sausage pizza. Mama's drizzles olive oil over their slices which can give the initial impression that the pizza is greasy. It is not, but, the olive oil is dominating over a simple flavor profile like spinach. The thin slices are overwhelmed by the oil, although the end crust was crunchy and tasty. Overall 3 stars, but some significant gaps frankly deserved a 2.5. read more

Lunch offers pizza by the slice at a price that I can handle! There are several options to choose from. You can just have pizza and a drink or be healthy with a salad. I didn't choose the more healthy option (ie the salad), but it looked super yummy. I will definitely try it next time. Where to start. This was a delivery order. The pizza (white pizza) was so skimpy on cheese it made the entire thing taste like cardboard. It was awful and had zero taste. The Chicken Parmigiana sandwich was wrapped so tight that when I unwrapped it, carefully, all of the cheese pulled off because it was stuck like glue to the wrap. Next, the fries. A thin crust cheese pizza. It's the simplest thing one can get at a pizza place. When it's done right, it's truly sublime. The combination of a good, chewy crust, a tangy sauce, and a creamy cheese. Don't get me wrong, I love my pizza toppings. But just once, for me, try just getting a thin crust cheese pizza from Mama's. I'm willing to bet that you'll be happy that you did.
