6/20/26 Ordered 1/2 Genoa Salami grinder with lettuce, tomato, provolone with vinegar and oil in the oven to go with a can of soda. The lady who took my order, and later gave it to me, was very nice. Took 10 minutes to make. I then drove home (about 5 minutes) and it was cold. Not even a remanent of heat. I heated it and it was good. For me, it could use a tad more meat, and it had the right amount of vinegar and oil. read more

Delivery of orders are very punctual. Think salads could stand improvement. Not very well prepared or lacking ingredients that make a great salad. Put does suffice if hunger pains are in the picture. Staff is very professional and friendly. Chicken wings have improved. read more

They are adding $4.55 on to a $15 delivery and they're saying that it is taxes and delivery fees. Sales tax in Connecticut is 6.35% leaving all of the rest for delivery. The delivery driver is using his own car and gas and that is what the tip is supposed to be for. So you want to charge a delivery fee on top of the tip that I would like to give my driver. That's double dipping and this kind of thing should get reported to the State consumer protection. There should be no other fees involved because making food for delivery doesn't cost more to make than food that you pick up. The only delivery fee should be is the tip you give your driver. The restaurant is not the one who owns the car in the gasoline it's not causing them extra money to deliver a pizza, only their employee. read more

Great pizzas. I had a take out of here, 2 times and absolutely like their pizza. The crust is so crunchy and almost close to a thin crust which I love. Great flavors and delicious pizzas (seafood medley and meat lovers). I am so glad to have found a good pizza joint in the neighborhood. read more

I ordered delivery tonight of a grilled chicken salad. I specifically asked if the delivery would use styrofoam, which I do not use. The person who took my order said they do not use it. However, they did! There salad was ok, pretty good size. The dressing was fresh and tasty. I divided the salad up for one or two more salads. I guess the person who took my order didn't understand me. Maybe I will order from them again, not positive. read more

Oh man... I guess the 4th time around showed this places true colors.. Had to bring it all the way down to 1 star... Ordered food today with a bunch of friends. We ordered a party sized pizza half cheese half pepperoni. Also order 10 boneless wings that were supposed to be medium.. As well as 12 bone in wings 6hot and 6terryaki. The pizza got here 1.5 hours after we ordered.. The pizza had the wings on top of the box so the middle of the pizza was missing cheese since it stuck to the top of the box :/ We got 10 boneless teriyaki.. Again they were supposed to be medium.. And we got 12 bone in hot... Supposed to be 6hot 6terryaki.. Needless to say they killed the pizza not to mention after an hour + it was barely warm . We gained the courage to be "that guy" and we called back and told them the wings were wrong.. In fact we even had the receipt and on that they had it RIGHT! the man was eager to send someone back out for a replacement of the wings.. Nice gesture but we are already halfway dome with our pizza and by time the wings would have been back it would have been pointless . he begged and said I want to make it right and send someone now even though I insisted on a credit for next time. Finally he said it will be here in a jiffy and one of our friends is ready to pop pregnant and REALLLLY wanted those damn hot wings (to put her in labor.. Wife's tale?) So I agreed thinking they'll be back soon... No joke my fellow yelpers.... ANOTHER 1.5 HOURS LATER they showed up... By that time we were hungry again ya know.. I mean Jesus practically dinner time now lol.. We went down to get them... Driver didn't apologize just seemed pissed he had to come back (probably felt like and idiot) When we got up we each had a wing and immediately closed the boxes up... They got the flavors and bone/boneless right...but these wings just tasted horrible.. Chewy and dry like leather... Clearly overcooked.. I love five minutes from the place and delivery took over an hour for a large pizza and 8pcs wings. The honey bbq flavor was good but the wings were tiny and over cooked. Super crispy and hardly any meat. The price of the wings do not meet the quality served. Ordered the house special pizza. The pizza was extremely soggy. Very very thin dough. Literally no sauce on the pie but the toppings were tasty. I wonder if my experience would have been better if the pizza was fresh. I won't eat here again. read more

Ordered delivery. Food arrived quickly and was hot, plus the portions were huge, which is awesome. Side salad was what you'd expect and the dressing was good. Plus it came with garlic bread, which I wasn't expecting. However, I felt the calzone was a bit lackluster. The broccoli seemed to be over cooked and the filling was mostly mozzarella with little ricotta. I wouldn't tell someone not to go there, but I know I will be exploring other options when I'm in the area. read more

First pizza was a pickup and tasty so we tried to order via the Slice app. After 75 mins and no pizza in sight I called the restaurant. The woman on the phone couldn't find my order, talked to someone in the background, mumbled (let it slip) that "he forgot," then tried to backpedal. Finally offered to put the manager on and then left me on hold for a long time! The nerve! When "manager" got on phone he did not speak clearly (language barrier maybe? Or faked) asked my name at LEAST two more times, pretending like they were still looking for the order, mumbled other people's names and orders (why?), and then finally offered to take the order anew and make our pizza starting then. I said NO, cancel it. He offered free food but as it was already well past 7 and my wife needs to stop eating at 8:00 pm, that wouldn't do us any good. Slice cancelled the order and refunded, and also confirmed that the restaurant HAS TO CONFIRM THE ORDER before it's completed so they are just incompetent. And incompetence does not inspire confidence in proper food preparation. We will not order from here again. read more

They're a pretty lousy. I'm surprised their still open for business. We ordered a couple of entrees and a pizza on a really slow friday. He didn't get the order right and then yelled at me. It was pretty bad. I definitely would avoid this place. read more

Mommas is consistent, affordable, and quiet place to eat. Salads are particularly good. Staff sometimes slower than expected yet for consistency and affordability of food ( something tremendously lacking in this area) we can easily tolerate the same. Especially when they are nice, polite and personable. Nothing fancy here at all but all dishes are simply good. Only issue is parking is limited and tight spaces. Appears share parking with apartment upstairs so 10 cars seems limited (safely). Also, be cautious of young local kids riding illegal diets bikes, scooters and ATV's in area. Many apartments nearby and they seem to use public roadways as playground- without any police oversight or involvement. Very dangerous. read more

Mama's is down the street from my office, so it was worth a try. Ordered a chicken souvlaki pita with a side of fries. The pita was alright. The bread was soft, but the chicken didn't have much flavor and it was swarming with tomatoes. The onions were nice and caramelized, but the tzatziki didn't have any cucumber in it, which makes me think it was glorified mayo. The fries were incredibly soggy and not worth eating. I picked up my order at the time specified, so they couldn't have been sitting long. Not my first choice to order from, but I'd maybe give the pizza a shot. read more

Second review but ONLY pertaining to GRINDERS. Pizza is good so no complaints there. BUT DO NOT order grinders here. Literally 3 pieces of ham on a half ham grinder. You are better off going to Subway and saving a ton of money, they are better quality. read more

To be honest, for years I never gave Mama's Mama's pizza a thought. I drove by them about 6000 times over the years but after being consistently disappointed with pizza in the area I decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did because it's the best pizza in East Hartford by far, no other pizza shop is even in the same league. Their crust is very tasty and has that crunch on the bottom the way pizza crust should be. The pizzas are cooked to perfection every time and the delivery is w/in minutes of their estimate. Do yourselves a favor and try Mama's, you will not be disappointed. read more

I work a few blocks away and it's an easy stop for a quick lunch pickup. They have an amazing cobb salad. It is a typical pizza joint in a not so great part of east Hartford. I have eaten inside, but i usually do pickup. read more

The staff is kind and helpful. While I dislike the fries because they can be soggy from time to time and I think the grinders could use just a lil more meat (they are great though!) what you need to order are the salads, especially the antipasto. This place is unbelievable. Mamas employees are rude, unfriendly and disrespectful. My order was completely wrong and I called to fix it it could and when not be done. Be careful what you eat there, there meat is just meat no name to it. Just left a very bad review for Vics Pizza in Manchester and it inspired me to leave a good one for my favorite pizza joint. I typically never leave reviews. Pizza is delicious, staff is friendly and care about keeping their customers happy. Quick service, delicious food. Used to work on park Ave and got delivery all the time. Also live within a mile from this place. Realistically probably ordered 60 or 70 times the past 3-4 years and have had a good experience every time. Cheeseburger club is the best!! read more

Will never go back. Air conditioning not working, and it took over 30 minutes for a salad and 2 sandwiches. We also ordered an appetizer that came out AFTER our food. There were also some flies, probably because the back door was open. We asked for some ice and was told they didn't have any. They also gave us a plastic fork and spoon for the salad. The chicken cutlet had very little chicken. Seems like it's more a take out place than a dine in place, although I did hear a gentleman have to repeat the order that was phoned in more than once. read more

I love this place. Burgers are to die for, Steak Quesadillas are awesome. Try a bit of sour cream on the chocolate cake! Tuna grinders..a bit "fishy". NO Coke 20oz. or cans. Haven't had a bad pizza yet. Delivery is fast and food is hot. Staff is very pleasant. read more
