It's Mama's not Mickey's so it's not what I expected...all fried! This adorable little shack in the midst of the pool area serves up fresh hot bites if you're not really in the mood to go a bit further down to 'Ulu Cafe here at Mama's Snack Stop they have a small menu offerings but it seems to be a popular option to have as well. With entrees like Fish and chips, Fish sandwich, Coconut Shrimp, Chicken Fingers, or just need a snack they have Mozzarella sticks, Mini Corn Dog bites or French Fries...yes it's all fried but the service here quite quick though I forgot to ask about the cross contamination with the shrimp and just ordered so hoping that there isn't as I enjoyed some of the Mini Corn Dog bites. Yes some there were super tense tiny and the cutest bites I've seen, 12 total and you're given packets of ketchup and mustard upon request and because it's so small they greasiness got to the best of me and gave up half way. At $12 it's resort prices and no I don't think it's worth it at all but they do have many other options as well and this is a great fun hot snack at your convenience...too bad nothing here is Mickey shaped lol! Yes, it is Disney... and the child in me wants to bump it up a star but let's keep it real, we're reviewing the food. FRIED everything snack stop. Lol. Their menu is tiny but it has enough options. We opted for their chicken fingers with fries (comes with one dipping sauce, they charge for extra dips - ketchup & mustard are free). Decent sized portion to be shared. Then we got mozarella sticks with marinara. Enough to get us by until we could find better food / healthier options at the resort. Other options were the Ono sandwich, fish & chips, coconut shrimp, and the mini corn dogs. Resort pricing - $15 to $20. Nothing to rave about. Just the same snacks you'd get at a theme park. We shared these among 4 adults since too much greasy food no longer settles well for any of us. Haha. Food came fast from the pick up window. BEST COCONUT SHRIMP on the island!!! We stay at Aulani every summer and this is a MUST HAVE eats whenever we come. I don't care for coconut and my hubby doesn't like shrimp. However, we both agree that this shrimp is so good and worth it every bite. It's currently $18.00 and comes with four nice size shrimp and french fries. We got some snacks at Mama's because we had just arrived at and didn't know our way around. All they had was heavy fried food, and we lost our appetite for the rest of the day. Fries: bland. Deep fried breaded Ono (fish): My wife wondered if it was a chicken nugget, and that's not a good sign. The fish sandwich had good flavors, but it was just the deep fried breaded fish in a sandwich. We learned that there is much better food elsewhere at Aulani. Try Off The Hook or Poolside Service, and avoid the fried stuff. read more

While staying at disneys aulani we stopped here a few times. Nice spot to grab a bite to eat while at the pool if you dont wanna wait for the server's. It serves the same food as the other pool sode Restaurants and pool waiter services with a more limited menu. Chicken fingers are good, but then again as long as their fried and cooked what chicken fingers arent lol. You get alot of fries with it and id say its worth its value. Lines can get long since its only one window. If the lines long id just go to one of the other spots. Not worth waiting. read more

I didn't see any servers around the lazy river section and it was about time to eat lunch now that the breakfast buffet food had already past digestion. Located right next to the shave ice spot in between the lazy river & pool is where you can find this lunch spot. A few tables outside but I took my tray to where we sat by the pool. The line seems to be long at times and then short. Since I kept walking past it refilling my drink at the Ulu cafe, I was able to order with no line, lucky me! I highly recommend the chicken tenders which comes with French fries. But for the price of $15!? Hmmm, I would have been full had I been given more than 4 pieces of chicken.. Debatably the best Fish and Chips on the Island.  Mama's Snack Stop makes Kona Longboard Lager Crusted Ono Fish and Chips.  Picture yourself lounging by the pool with your lava flow drink.  What would be better than "Loco Style Fish and Chips"?  The fish is moist and tender with a crispy batter that you can taste a hint of that Kona Lager.  The French fries are always great.  You even get to pick your sauce for your fish.  Every time I go to Aulani I get these.  Can't go wrong and a wonderful additional to your pool drink.  Eat some lunch then go float down the lazy river a couple of times.  Best Day Ever Promise. read more

I was impressed with the fact that the fish wasn't overly hot so it was easy for a child to eat right away. Service = quick! for over $10 you can get three pieces of chicken tenders and a probably two handfuls of French fries OR you can get a 4 pcs coconut shrimps w/ fries. It's convenient for sure when you are out lounging by the pool and suddenly wanted to eat something. You can also get a hotdog for $7 which isn't TOO bad; it'll satisfy your hunger for sure. Given the price, I do wish that they can give a slightly bigger portion. I dined here twice and ordered the following: 1. Portuguese Dog with crusty bread and garlic aioli, ketchup, and Dijon mustard. The dog was pretty good - got that crunchy casing and had a touch of spice. The crusty bread was alright, unique though. The presentation was interesting as well (don't think regular hot dog style... more like burrito but on a bread), they hollowed the crusty bread and stuck the dog in the middle with all the condiments drizzled inside the bread. And because the way it was presented, as you're eating the dog, when you get to the end of your last few bites, you'll end up eating only the sauces plus bread because all the sauce dripped down the to the end of the bread. 2. chicken tenders: fries were the thick cut fries, the chicken tenders were cooked well. crispy on the outside and is well seasoned. After swimming for an entire morning or afternoon, you'll get hungry and you'll want some food. Mama's Snack Shop is located in the middle of the resort by the Waikolohe Pool. Everything on the menu is finger food so the kids will like it but I personally love the fried chicken tenders. For some reason, meat just taste really good after you been out in the hot sun for hours. The prices are high but you're paying for convenience and you're on a Disney property. I recommend coming here when it's not peak lunch because the line is shorter or there's no line. They cook the food really fast but wear your slippers here because the ground is hot and there's no water to cool your feet down. read more

Mama's Snack Stop is a new quick service eatery at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. Mama's was developed in response to complaints that Aulani didn't have enough dining options. Not sure if this is what guests had in mind. Anyhow, the fiancee and I decided to checkout Mama's today (6/24). When you order, you will choose your choice of sausage: Local Red Frank ($5.75), Portuguese Sausage ($5.75), All-Beef Hot Dog ($5.75), or Buffalo-Ranch Fried Chicken "Tender Dog" ($6.75). Then you need to choose your bread soft roll (hot dog bun) or crusty bread (baguette type) and your choice of sauce (ketchup, yellow or dijon mustard, or garlic aioli). You can also opt for a basket of fried chicken tenders with fries ($9.95), a side of french fires ($2.95), Maui Chips ($2.95), macadamia nut pineapple cupcake ($4.50), or fresh tropical fruit ($5.00). Drinks are bottled water ($3.50) or fountain drinks ($3.00), though you have to walk across to the Lava Shack to fill up! There's also a keiki menu as well. So, on this particular visit, the fiancee didn't feel like getting anything, though I opted for a Portuguese sausage with crusty bread and dijon mustard. The sausage was served in a hollowed-out bun much like Puka-Dog. The crusty bread was good, with a nice, crusty baguette like exterior, while the Portuguese sausage was nothing special. They were also really skimpy on the mustard and there was barely any, so I'd probably add more myself next time. Would I go back? Probably. A fast food establishment along the poolside and water slide area. I would say if you aren't feeling for any food or tipping at a restaurant, this would be a option. Food quality would be the same as like a Disney Park. Fried Chicken, Fries, Fish and Chips, and Sandwiches. Kids meals are available for the little ones. Price wise is decent and the amount food given is ok. Felt alittle sick after eating, maybe the bad oil? Not too sure but I wouldn't eat here again for my opinion. This place is fast and easy to get food by the pool however I would not recommend it at all. One day we had the fish and chicken strips, they already had them ready after I ordered and were super rude when I asked about sauces. The fist tasted like oil and the paper the set it on and nothing else. I love fish but this was actually kind of inedible and I didn't finish it. The chicken strips which I thought were the same all throughout aulani, these are way different. They also taste like whatever oil they use and were not good. Again I love disney chicken strips but these were awful. They do have shrimp here too which I didn't try but I would think it would also taste heavily of oil. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this and I would go to the restaurant by the pool that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner or order from the bar if you want decent food. read more

Coconut shrimp - best coconut shrimp I've ever had. It's slightly sweet/nutty and pairs well with the sweet & sour chili sauce that comes with it. I personally like to make my own "poor man's horseradish" by mixing some ketchup, mustard, and Tabasco sauce. Chicken strips - executed perfectly. Crispy batter w/ a side of ranch or BBQ sauce brings out the giddy kid in all of us. Fries - I haven't tried their chili cheese yet, but the regular fries are perfectly fried and salted. No complaints. Kids meals are $8 and come a choice of fries or apples and with soda or water. Typical baskets will run you upwards of $11 bucks. It's hard to justify paying $8 for a hot dog considering you could get 4 hot dogs at that same price at Costco. I lined up for a good 20 minutes (during lunch hour) to buy food for the rest of my family. Fortunately, I wasn't hungry so I didn't order anything for myself. As a pescatarian, I could have gotten away with eating the coconut shrimp (although I'm sure everything including the chicken tenders are fried in the same oil), but for actual vegetarians, there really aren't many options other than overpriced salads, some of which come with chicken.
