I've been coming here since 2007 and even went to the location that they had in West Dallas. It's always the same great food, the same amazing staff and service and I just wish that I could eat there once a week if not almost every day. My go to items are the ceviche to status as well as the shrimp sea cocktails but everything on the menu if you like seafood and fish is just about as amazing as it can be I love to sit at when I call the counter and the bartender is standing right there. I love Mambo seafood, I have been to this locations several times over the years and it is - always consistent in quality of food & oysters - always consistent with customer service - always a good experience What I order : - Mambo Special fried rice - michelada regular - oysters - Vuelve a la vida soup This combination is the best I know it may sound weird but it is so good and always hits the spot when I am craving oysters! I recommend ordering these items if you haven't tried them out yet! I love sitting in the patio when sun is setting. The epitome of mediocre. The setting is very plain, kind of reminds me of a school cafeteria. The service was good. Had dinner here tonight with my daughter. We had: Dozen raw gulf oysters - seemed fresh enough, comes with a side of ketchup (if it was meant to be cocktail, I tasted no horseradish). Shrimp Tacos - my daughter liked them, said she would give it 3.5/5. I did not try them. Mambo Vuelve a LA Vida - 2/5. Shrimp, squid and octopus sauteed in ranchero sauce. I was not a fan. Wow, what a great experience! We found parking very easily and our party of 6 was seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Other waitstaff also checked in on us too. We ordered the fried shrimp plate, shrimp tacos, and mambo combo. We ate our hearts out and especially loved the shrimp fried rice! We've eaten here several times and everything is consistently fresh and delicious. The coconut shrimp appetizer and grilled fish tacos is my go to order. I usually get a topo chico chelada that I definitely recommend. Last visit, I tried the pepinada margarita and it was amazing. Not overly sweet and tastes fresh. The tamarindo stick and cucumber and jicama with chamoy was a fun surprise and of course were all fresh and delicious. Staff is always great and I've never noticed it being too loud even when packed. Ordered the snapper via UberEats from this location. I took a few bites and as I dig in noticed the entire fish was black on the inside. Immediately I vomited everything I had eaten. Contacted UberEats and was only a refunded a portion of my order. Contacted the restaurant and they did not assist. I had to throw out everything that I ordered because who in their right mind would continue to eat from a place ghat clearly is too lazy to conduct QA on the foods being served. This is disgusting. Quite puzzle as to how this occurred but I do know that they just lost a customer. read more

I usually visit the location by Greenspoint and have never had an issue. Last week we were in the area and invited an out of town friend to this location. I ordered my usual with rice. The rice didn't taste the same and I thought maybe because it's a different location. I barely ate any but my friend ate all of his. He poured his vuelve la vida over the rice and said it was better. Well my friend had violent vomit all night. I honestly think the rice had been frozen got to room temp and refrozen then recooked. I hate to admit but I will never be back to any location again. Have been going to this Mambo's location since the day it opened. Being a regular, the Waitstaff (Viceli) remembers what and how we prefer things which makes our visits even more pleasurable. The seafood is always hot and fresh and the menu is varied so nothing gets repetitive or old. The salmon is the best and best priced that I have had when compared to many different Houston restaurant locations. This restaurant is absolutely a keeper. read more

Being a Houstonian for years and always noticed Mambo around figured give it a try. Oh boy where do I start, first off it was a total waste of money and not good. We were the first ones there on Saturday and when we walked in they were still doing employe meeting for the day, so we figure we get our food first. NO, mistaken, everyone else who walked in 15 mins after us was getting food while we just sit there hungry. Not just one tables 3 tables and I see to go order coming out and ready to go, while we just sat there waiting. Finally I ask the her to check on our food, 15 mins later she brought it out. Fried rice was cold and every other fried dishes were cold as well, so it must have just sat there on the counter for the last 20 minutes. The rice was super dry, fried dishes were bland an soggy, and greasy. I have no idea why this place was packed? If I was the only person at my table didn't like the food, then maybe you can say im a picky eater, but everyone in my family of four didn't think the food was even average, below average at best. Will not come back, please please if you want better fry mexican seafood, just go to Captain Tom. Food was below average at best and service was subpar. read more

This was my first visit to Mambo Seafood. They had a few tables remaining on a Saturday night. I was surprised to see the freezers fill of fresh fish on display. The long takeout line is definitely a good sign. Our waitress was friendly and quickly placed crackers on the table while we waited for the order. The shrimp and fish wasn't as crispy as I would have liked but the fries were okay. The glass of soda was so large that I couldn't finish it . The new manager was engaging and kind. This place become my new sanctuary since I moved to this area across I-10. The food is consistently good, great micheladas, quick service eventho staff speak Spanish only a few of them speak English. I always have a table no matter how busy they are. Nice outdoor tables. I strongly recommend the octopus scampi and the grilled corn. They use fresh corn instead of frozen. Usually go at least once when I'm working out in Houston and it's usually pretty damn good.. only reason why I have this one a 4 star is because the rice taste like Chinese rice.. idk what it is about Houston, but I literally went to 4 places and all the rice taste like Chinese food rice. Tried a fried platter, grilled platter, and calamari as an appetizer. Overall the fried food is alright, theres a light batter on both the fish and shrimp. The grilled shrimp was overcooked. Neither the grilled or fried preparations have seasoning, it's literally fried or grilled. The menu items and prices are very similar. While inside, the environment is much like Connie's. Simple, colorful and plenty of seating. I was good, so I stayed away from the fried section. I ordered sauteed shrimp and it came with 2 sides. I chose their fried rice and salad. My meal was pretty good! The fried rice mixed with the sauce from the shrimp was very tasty. My friend ordered the fried shrimp platter, so I tried a piece. I'm glad I didn't order it, it tasted very bland. This is a decent place for the money. Can't complain about that! read more

The waitress took my order, and bought part of my order out, I didn't see her again until (about 15-20min later) halfway through my lunch, I had to send another waitress to get her. Then I told her she forgot part of my order. She replied "let me go check on it" which meant, let me go order it, because it took another 10min for her to bring it out. She bought it out after I was finished my meal. The next time I saw her she bought me the check, didn't ask if I needed anything, just gave me the check, smh told me, I can pay at the register....
