The food is really good. All of the workers are very nice. Texas "Cajun" is always so disappointing but this place reminds me of home.

I ordered two Poboys togo. And asked for some cocktail sauce on the side. They wanted to change me extra for it solely because I was asking for on the side not on the sandwich. Good customer service, and good food is always a plus for us! To top it off the daiquiris are pretty good also. We usually get the Calliope's fried rice with wings and it always hits the SPOT! We have been a handful of times and have tried different things on the menu but what sticks out the most for my husband and I would be the fried rice and wings. Had to get them on that one star because they really need to change their drink machine filter, it's always giving me seltzer water instead of sprite, I find myself getting the pink lemonade instead. read more

I called in my order and it was ready in 8 minutes, picked up thru the drive thru and loved that feature. The food portions are huge. I went by for dinner a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Parking is plentiful as the restaurant is located in the end cap of a strip center on Westheimer. Walking in, I immediately liked the interior. Whomever decorated this restaurant did a good job capturing the feel of New Orleans. Smaller inside than expected, I walked up to the counter to order. This location also has a drive thru window. I ordered the small surf n turf poboy combo for $9.95 before tax. The food was ready in about 10 minutes and during the wait I visited the self serve drink station for their sweet tea. It was very good and I fully expected an excellent meal. The surf n turf is a shrimp and roast beef combination poboy and this one was not up to my high expectations. While the small poboy is plenty of food for one, the taste just wasn't there. I thought the roast beast needed more flavor and the fried shrimp average with the bread being decent. I thought this might be a 4-5 but it turned out to be a 3. The French fries were standard frozen out of bag and a bit of a disappointment at that (2). Not a bad meal but only average and if I return I might not order again and instead try something else on the menu. I will be generous here and give a 3 overall. read more

The blue Hawaiian was amazing. The shrimp was over breaded. Also, I ordered a catfish and I got swai fish. (Two catfish(swai) and 8 shrimp and 1 catfish(swai) w/5 shrimp . my dad is a fisherman so happen to know about alot of different fish. I know what swai fish look and taste like vs catfish. I went thru the drive thru and the customer service far exceeded my expectations. I wanted to try the Cajun shrimp salad but was told it had just been added to the menu and wasn't available to order yet so I went with the grilled shrimp salad. It was pretty good overall. I didn't like that the shrimp still had the tails on them so I had to peel them off of each of them before adding it to the salad to eat. I also would've preferred the onions and tomatoes to have been cut up a lil more as opposed to huge slices. The veggies were fresh tho and I also ordered a small side of jalapeño hush puppies which were decent as well. I would give them another try just bc the customer service was really great. read more

I ordered the small hurricane daquiri along with the 2 piece catfish with fries and a side salad and a slice of french bread. It was pleasantly good. I will definitely be going back because they have a convenient drive thru just in case you dont feel like a crowd. Pros-The fish is big so you only need one. The spicy tarter sauce was a nice surprise. The spicy ketchup was even better. Cons- I need more than one container of ketchup and tarter sauce and they only put one in the bag. I have been here multiple times but I guess today wasn't the day. I purchased a shrimp on bun. The lady told me it would be bout 8 minutes. The order didn't take that long. When I got ready to eat the sandwich, the corn meal was falling off of the shrimp, the shrimp looked dark as if they been sitting up under a lamp. Soo..I can't tell you how much I've passed the place right on Westheimer...and just kept on going. One evening, I had a taste for boudin balls and this place came up on my search. I decided to finally stop in. I decided to order the chicken fried rice along with an order of the boudin balls (carry out). You order at the counter and you can either carry out or dine-in. The food is prepared as you order (I suppose), but they were super quick. My food was probably ready in about 10 minutes. I got in my car and drove home, which probably took about 5 minutes. I then changed my clothes and piddled around my apartment for a few minutes before diving into my food. When I dug in, the food was still piping hot! I mean, I found this quite amazing. The food was HOT and maintained the heat as I made my way through the food. I was literally amazed at how fresh everything was. The boudin balls were large and well seasoned. They had the perfect exterior crunchiness and were soft and yummy on the inside. The fried rice comes with a sauce (presumably, butter based) that you are able to spread over the rice. It definitely enhances the flavor; however, the rice is definitely good without it. The only gripe I had with this dish is that the chicken was a bit overcooked. It was crunchy and hard and for a minute, I thougtht I had ordered fried shrimp. That definitely wasn't a good look, but it wasn't that big a deal. There actually isn't much chicken in the dish to really downgrade the whole experience. The rice is definitely a huge portion....and I enjoyed every bite. I would definitely recommend this gem of a place...and I can't wait to go back to try other things on the menu! FYI, they do have a drive-thru! :) read more

There food is really good , customer service not. I pulled up one night around 8:45pm. They close at 9pm on Wednesday's by the way. Me and a friend order the Callios fried rice , jumbo regular with sausage and chicken gumbo ( really good by the way ) & the 8 wings / chicken fried rice platter , and a chocolate cheesecake. The pricing was okay it was about $38-40 for those 4 items + the up charges. Let me tell you , the food was okay , the wings weren't cooked all the way still a bit of pink on the inside , also as well . The staff was great taking my order but once I looped back around for them to fix the order since the lady charged us for the wrong thing / gave us the wrong order which was the ( callio fried rice ) , everyone completely ignored us. So honestly food is okay , rather you honestly spend that much at a good restaurant versus a lazy , rude customer service that can't cook the chicken all the way. I would go back for the gumbo for sure though. read more

If you're coming here, get the surf and turf Po boy. the po-boy was a delicious and the regular 11in was plenty of food for a meal. You can make it a combo with fries and a drink for a few bucks more if you want. The fries however are very mediocre but you can fix them by dipping them in the Cajun remoulade sauce. The boudin balls are also pretty good, but it's the kind of thing you're going to want to share rather than way all four yourself. My dad was pretty happy with his fish and shrimp platter as well. But again, I'd go with a Po boy. The bread is nice and soft and there's a good amount of filling to bread ratio. read more

This easily became our new favorite Cajun restaurant, the girls behind the counter were very sweet and informative. The strawberry lemonade is the best I've ever had, but the FOOD was AMAZING. I had the boil feast myself, cluster of crab, 1/2 lb of shrimp, 1 lb of crawfish w/ corn and potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection and a great flavor, the sauce from the boil even stuck to the potatoes well to give them a delectable flavor as well! My youngest had the shrimp basket. When I say that was the BEST fried shrimp we have every tasted, I mean we were all blown away. The coating is seasoned very well, the shrimp was perfect, you will not be disappointed. My husband had the Kickin NOLA extra spicy crawfish, and he said that they might be the best crawfish he's ever had. Finally something spicy yet flavorful enough to his liking! I had the kid's meal chicken nuggets because everything else on the menu was very expensive. The chicken nuggets look good on the outside but inside they were like sponges and pouros full of holes. It was like eating a deep fried sponge. I have chicken nuggets everywhere from fast food to regular restaurants. These were off putting. The fries were seasoned well. The two stars is service attitude and the strange spongy chicken nuggets. Also the drive thru staff was rude at the drive thru as if their workload was too much for them or like they didn't want to be there.
