Wow, the smell of wood burning roasted meats got my attention! So much so, that after I got fuel at Costco, I turned back in the wrong direction to check it out. And it was totally worth it! Two taco plate (grilled chicken and carne asada) with rice and beans washed down with a Mexican coke - deeeeeelicious! Each taco had fresh salsa, avocado and cotija on double corn tasted tortillas. The beans were flecked with tiny charred pieces of carne asada and bits of cotija topped the delicious piping hot rice. I've been dreaming about how to get back there again this week...seriously! Great value, super fresh and spicy pickled jalapeños and carrots kicked it up a notch. Total was $13 and some change. Tiny parking lot shared with the Mercado so get there early as there's only 2 tables on the patio;)

I found this place driving around at 7am, looking for a place to eat. It's a small restaurant, and was hard to see behind the two food trucks parked in front. I was excited to see the neon 'ABIERTO' sign flashing and people inside. I ordered the 'Breakfast Special' and a coffee. The coffee was good, served with powdered creamer which I like. I noticed a few people having tacos on paper plates, and one guy on his phone eating an egg and ham scramble. I had to look twice because he was strangely dipping his tortilla in his coffee. The Breakfast Special arrived. It was a take on Huevos Rancheros - fried eggs, ham, and cheese layered in between two tortillas and topped with a light tomato sauce and cotija (grated salty cheese). It tasted good, but I regret I didn't ask for chopped onions which would have added a sharp contrast in taste and texture to the dish. A steady flow of men came in and ordered tacos. They seemed to be regulars, greeting and chatting each other Spanish, ordering without looking at the menu. The pan dulce lady arrived with a big pink box of colorful breads. I was done eating and finishing my coffee, when I saw a grey pigeon, it's head bobbing and looking for food on the ground. It disappeared under the table in front of me. I felt scared and decided it was time to go.

My wife and I stopped by here for a quick bite to eat during lunch time. This was my first time here and I heard good things about the restaurant so I wanted to try it out. The restaurant is sort of small with a few tables and a bench outside. I ordered the carne asada tacos and a carne asada super burrito with no beans, extra cheese, and sour cream. I ordered to go but ate one of my tacos there before I left. My taco was tender and very flavorful. The staff was very friendly and the wait wasn't very long at all. The prices were decent as well. I recommend this taqueria if you're in the area. 7.5/10.0

Delicious carnitas tacos that are greasy, loaded, and affordable. I paid about $14 for a plate of five tacos. Note: I ordered them with refried beans, sour cream, cheese, cilantro, onions, and avocado, so I was charged for a few of the extra toppings. Still a good deal though!

What can I say, I was looking for a good cheap eats place one day and I found this place to have a very strong aromatic fragrance coming from the outside and there were people inside. I decided to walk in with everyone staring at me, was it because I was strong and buff? Well that could be, but could possibly be that I'm Chinese walking into a taqueria and the surrounding neighborhood is predominately Mexican, Hispanic, Latino decent. I must say I wanted to come here to try everything, but I knew my stomach couldn't eat everything and so I ordered three tacos, which were over a $1 each. So I tried the carne asada (steak), the carnitas (fried pork), and the el pastor (bbq roasted pork). I must say that the best choice would have to go with the carnitas, the flavors just mingled well with each other and was quite delicioius. The el pastor had too much seasoning and kinda tasted like a chorizo I once had. The steak was just average. Overall, I'm likely to come back if I want some cheap eats. It's a small shack-like restaurant with limited seating. All food is cooked to order and the staff is friendly. ***I posted a couple of pics***

    Nice, quesadilla from the taqueria!

This place is one of the best in my town!! They serve large portions of meat in your tacos, quesadillas ,etc. I would recommend this place.

    (5) tacos!!!! Yes, R.I.P. To these!!!!

I ordered a burrito with carne asada along with one taco. Right away, I was impressed with the presentation. Everything was neatly packed, and the portions were generous, which is always a plus for catered meals. Overall, the taste wasn't bad, but it didn't completely wow me. The carne asada was decent and filling, though I feel the burrito would've tasted much better with sour cream. Unfortunately, that came with an extra fee, so I skipped it. In hindsight, I probably would've enjoyed the meal more if I ordered a bowl instead, since the flavors might have stood out more without being wrapped in a tortilla. While it wasn't my favorite Mexican-style catering I've had, it was still a solid option for a work meal. I appreciated the portion size and presentation, and with a few tweaks to my order next time, I think the experience could be better.

Sweet :) Wanted something relatively fast and somewhat healthy and hearty, so we decided to go in. I ordered three shrimp tacos which I believe came with corn tortillas, grilled shrimp, green bell peppers, white onions, and some kind of salsa (green salsa & pico de callo). Delicious! There was a pretty good amount of shrimp in each taco, which I was super stoked on. Total for the three shrimp tacos came out to $19.74 (3x shrimp tacos = $5.99). Everything came out perfect and consistent. There is seating outside and plenty of seating inside. When you first walk in, you will notice the bar to the left side of the restaurant. It was clean, bright, and welcoming. The woman at the counter was straight-forward, nothing too crazy to note on. They have a $10 minimum when paying with a credit card, so just be prepared for that :) The best part is... they have self-serve tortilla chips AND self-serve salsa bar! Their salsas were the right amount of spicy (just the way I like it)... Their bathroom is also very clean, which is always a plus. I told my friend that I will make note of this restaurant, because it's so good and delicious... (will definitely come back again for their salsa bar :)

My original dish of choice was the Red Snapper Al Mojo de Ajo. But many years ago I made the switch to Enchiladas de Mariscos. I have tried the Mole Poblano and fajitas. I have been known to get a burrito for lunch. There are other things on the menu I'm sure I'd be happy with. But, when it's Cafe del Sol night, I crave the adobo marinated seafood and chipotle tequila cream sauce of the seafood enchiladas. They are served with yummy cilantro rice, diced mango, salsa fresca, and a small salad. The rotating dishes of my party include Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, the Red Snapper, Fish Tacos, and El Combo. We always get Quesadilla de Camaron as a starter. The quesadilla comes with a side of guacamole, sour cream, salsa fresca, and diced mango for your dipping pleasure. A side order of chips comes with an addictive salsa verde. The restaurant is not without its challenges. It is a small space and often only has one server. The two servers, Tammy and Sonia, have been there forever and are very loyal to their customers. If you are looking for a place with constant stimulation, the latest and greatest in restaurant decor, this isn't the place for you. I come back over and over for the flavors I can't resist.

Taking way one star just because the inside is pretty awkward to navigate (you have to squeeze between tables), and I do wish they offered margaritas haha.
