This is a nice family friendly hole in the wall restaurant. If you want some down home good cooking, this is where to get it. From authentic and delish polish food, to other dinners made with love, and now some great new sandwich options. They always have good soups I want to grab to go too. I'm part Polish and was raised on food Polish food. Their pierogis are spot on and delicious...even some unique ones like buffalo chicken or chicken florentine. Last week I stopped with my son and had the more traditional farmers cheese pierogis. They were some of the best I ever had. Even better than what I grew up on. The lazy pierogis and sausage were equally delicious. It's solid, quality homemade food with love, and has a cozy feel.

    Handmade pierogis and "deconstructed" pierogis.

I will never eat pierogis again! There's no point...they wouldn't be this amazing! Completely made by hand, the pierogis are hot, crispy, melty goodness. John was so personable and funny, and the food was absolutely wonderful. According to John, "The entertainment usually starts in about 15 minutes."

Great place to stop and eat while enjoying Olcott Beach/ Carousel Park. Staff was very nice and friendly. The food was good. Great selection of unique pierogi flavors. They had polish beers stocked along with the typical American staples. They close between 2pm-4pm to get ready for dinner service.

Short ribs with mashed potatoes - most delicious!!

Hubby and I had dinner here a few weeks ago and the food was fabulous. Service was terrific too. It is owned by the chef and her mate. He takes care of the service and is really kind and attentive. The chef brought out her homemade banana cream pie to show the patrons and everyone wanted a slice! Presentation of the food is wonderful and we wished we could have eaten more. Doggie bags were a must. We can't wait to go back when the weather is nice enough to walk along the lake there. Great place to eat!

John and his wife are both jovial and welcoming people but the pierogis are amazing - just as good as grandma made!

Was a bit confused at first because they brought placemats with the breakfast menu then a bit later brought regular menu's. The waitress brought waters and told us the specials. They do not serve alcohol. It was a while before she came back to get our order. We both got coffee and ordered a special that was a stuffed pepper with mashed potatoes and garlic bread. Huge portion & half came home because we had to get the crapes. Got an order of 3 to share. We got the cheese, cherry & apple with cinnamon. Of course the cherry were my favorite but they all were good. They also offer blueberry, strawberry (in season) peaches & cream. Also took part of mine home. The food got 5 stars but the service was very slow.

One ordered pork chops and the other meat loaf, both served with a potato pancake & cabbage. I didn't catch what the actual dish was. I had one goal, a plate of potato pancakes. They were good but not exactly what I expected which was grated potatoes. These seemed.closer to mashed potatoes. Maybe over mixed? Also I received 1 small tube of sour cream, certainly not enough for four potato pancakes since they'd give you the same for one. My friends appeared to enjoy their meals. A bit disappointed but I'll still go back since they're definitely the place to go to get good authentic polish food. Next time it'll be pierogi and kielbasa! 2025-91

In several instances, food was being brought out for only some people at a time for a few tables. Then by the time mine comes (and I'm starving btw), it's almost completely different than what was described on the menu, and even worse, the waitress didn't realize?! I ordered the Sto lat omelette because I'm Polish and love the flavor combinations of farmers cheese, sour cream and dill. Here's how the menu described it: "smoked kielbasa, bacon, farmers cheese, tomato, caramelized onion, mushroom sauce, sour cream, dill" What I actually got was an omelette with cheddar instead of farmers cheese, and no sour cream or dill. The added home fries and ketchup were a nice surprise though. When I made the waitress aware that this seems to be a different omelette than described on the menu, she said "there's only one omelette on the menu". I pointed out the swapped cheese and missing ingredients, and she asked if I wanted the kitchen to remake it, or just bring me the missing items. I said I'd be fine with being brought the missing items. So they brought me out a dill sauce (?), and sour cream (no farmers cheese). Then charged us full price, no apology. While I enjoyed the different omelette they brought, I was disappointed to miss out on the Polish flavors I was looking forward to. While the atmosphere is cool and maybe a drink at the bar would be fine, I absolutely will never come back for food.

We were told our reservation did not show that. They found us a table out of range seeing the band. A couple sitting near us had the same problem. They were told by the owner that the information doesn't carry over to them. So why ask? I knew it was clam night with a limited menu but wasn't aware that none of the regular Polish food wouldn't be available, only 3 Flatbread and a chip flight. I ordered steamed clams & my husband ordered raw. We also ordered a shrimp Alfredo Flatbread. My clams had a few that were gritty, his were ok. The Flatbread was really good. We would have ordered a 2nd but they actually ran out. It was barely 7:00. I had to flag someone down to get more water since it was never offered. The band was really good! Overall not a great evening. Did we just hit them on a bad night? I'll be back when they're offering their normal menu to see how it goes. 2025-52

Had an amazing meal here. Everything was super aromatic with a lot of complex flavours. We tried:…read more - Clear barszcz with mushroom dumplings: this was my first time trying borscht and this was thankfully unchallenging while still being interesting. Loved the dill. - Bigos: my friend ordered this. Was really flavourful but I did not see any mushrooms in contrast to the menu description. - Mushroom golabki: fell apart easily and was hard to eat with gravy but all the constituent parts were tasty. - Sauerkraut & mushroom pierogi: dominated by the (delicious) sauerkraut and incredibly buttery (butterily incredible?). - Side salad combo: enough for two to share. Beets and sauerkraut were astonishingly delicious and coleslaw was quite good too. Carrots were bland. - Excellent complimentary(?) bread. A note on portion sizes - as a small man with an average appetite I thought the soup + one cabbage roll + side (i.e. 4) pierogis + side salad was manageable and enjoyable, but I think I would have been defeated if I had tried to have the soup with a standard entree of two cabbage rolls. Service was a bit rushed and servers seemed in a bit of a hurry to clear dishes before we were done, and it was impossible to reach the restaurant on the phone to modify our reservation, but we did visit on a busy Saturday evening.

This place confirms my Polish friend's sentiment of "Polish food is kind of like village comfort…read morefood." I got the platter for two (28$) which came with 4 perogies, 2 salads, 1 choice of chicken or pork schnitzel, hunter bigos stew, sour cream, and some kind of onion au jus. Also separately ordered two pork rice cabbage rolls and the warm barszcz borscht soup with wontons (chose the mushroom filling). My partner got the roast beef plate which had the option of subbing for perogies, so we were able to try four flavours between the two of us. The cabbage rolls were soft, tender, and comforting. Tasted like they were homemade with care, with the tomato sauce being the only thing that was processed. I could see how this may become bland for those looking for bursting flavour, but for me, having dined out so very frequently in the last few weeks, that was just what I needed as a relaxing meal. For the perogies, my filling preferences from best to worst are: minced pork, cottage cheese & potato, sauerkraut and mushrooms, cheddar & potato. Likely wouldn't order perogies again though because the mushy outer dough just reminds me of chinese dumplings and i kept getting confused after each bite revealed equally soggy fillings. The chicken schnitzel dipped into the onion au jus was just lovely. The fattiness of the jus complemented the lean chicken cutlet and gave it an earthy umami coat of flavour. Very nice. The occasional two bites of roast beef had me feeling like I was Violet at the Willy Wonka Factory. The more I chewed, the juicier it got. I pronounced out aloud in wonder of this sentiment actually, "mmm, that is definitely roast beef!". The borscht soup was...interesting. I think the dill was too overpowering and threw me off while trying to taste the delicate beet flavour that was supposed to be the main character. Mushroom wontons were too 'cremini concentrated' for me. Also got the kompot, which is just boiled fruit water with little to no sugar added. I had it cold, with two cubes of cooked pear floating about. It was a great fruity beverage to cleanse my palate of the dense carb-heavy meal. At my return visit, I will make a custom order for 1 cabbage roll, 1 chicken schnitzel, 1 side of coleslaw, 1 slice of roast beef, and 1 glass of kompot.
