Four of us visited this morning and had a nice breakfast! We chose to order from the menu which did indeed save us a few bucks! Glad we did as I am not much of a fan for the morning buffets ! My Uber driver told me this was the best breakfast buffet in town. Ten minutes later, I found myself here. I got here at a good time because there was no wait! There is no waiting area, so you have to line up outside if there's already one party inside. I opted for the breakfast buffet ($15.99 per adult), and it was marvelous. I can't really eat much for breakfast, but I enjoyed all the fresh fruits: watermelon, canteloupe, honeydew, grapefruit, grapes, strawberries, etc. Too bad coffee is not included in the buffet. The corned beef hash and French toast were most notable to me. Service was ok. You have to ask the server for the bill, and then you bring it to the counter to pay. We enjoyed our breakfast at Mammy's. It's in a great location in Myrtle Beach. We were able to walk from our resort. They had a cute and simple breakfast buffet which allowed us to quickly eat and transition back to vacation mode. They had healthy options to more hearty options on the menu including all the traditional items you'd expect. The price was good for the options as well. The service team were friendly and attentive. This was my first time here. I went for the buffet, but it was $16+ and it was heavy on the meat items. I ended up ordering off the menu. The poached eggs were hard boiled and the toast and hash browns were cold. I'm not a fan of establishments charging more when you use a credit card, although it is becoming more commonplace. The best breakfast location on the grand strand. The buffet is always stock with fresh items small batches and I think that is why it is such a great value for the money. The eggs are light and fluffy and the homemade biscuits are spot on. I highly recommend this place after multiple visits it continues to be consistent and the service by all the staff is just outstanding! I've been coming to Myrtle Beach since I was kid in the 70's and 80's and my family never ate breakfast at Mammy's ! When I got older and moved away from the east coast I still came home to the Carolinas every 2 to 3 years and still I had heard about this place and how you would sometimes have to wait in line outside for it. Well , that is something I don't care to do. But anyway , I finally came here on September 21st and it was well worth it and I didn't have to wait in line. When I was leaving though there were a few people waiting outside to get in , so I guess I had good timing. I was seated right away and ordered coffee. The buffet line was filled with a pretty good selection. The first thing you see is fresh fruit and let me tell you , you have to get the Strawberries. They were so good and fresh. I live in Las Vegas and we get those California Strawberries and they don't have half the flavor these did , must be all the GMO. I also got a slice of Cantaloupe , a slice of Pear , and a slice of Peach. Now to the main items. I got Grits , Biscuit and Gravy , Sausage Patty and Sausage Link , Scrambled Eggs with Peppers , Corn Beef Hash , and the Strawberries the first plate. The Grits were thick and good like I like them. The Scrambled Eggs were good. I liked the Sausage Patty better than the Sausage Link. The Corn Beef Hash I didn't care for. Biscuit and Gravy was good , but mine are better of course. The Strawberries as I said were great and I got more on my second plate. On my 2nd plate I tried a Pancake with Strawberry Syrup with pieces of Strawberry in it and more Grits and some fruit. The Pancakes were pretty good and fluffy. The price is really reasonable and that is why it's probably been in business so long. From my understanding they been in business since 1953 and I'm sure they will be here many years to come. read more

We try to visit Mammy's each time we come to the beach. Mammy's has a good menu selection as well as a breakfast buffet. There are a lot of items to choose from on the buffet but it is a little pricey for me. That's because I don't eat that much but you are a heavy eater it may be worth the price. This place has been here serving the area since 1953. Definitely looks like an ole style diner outside but they have kept up the inside. Food is simple, yet good. We order our eggs over-medium well. This is not easy for most places but they got it perfect! There was also a buffet available but we opted for ordering simple. Otherwise we would have eaten too much. Hahaha. Coffee was great our server was thorough and kept our glass, mugs full. We wanted to go again but the next day line was around the corner. We will definitely be back. Mammy's has been a local diner, open since 1952-3 in the middle of the "tourist trap" part of Myrtle Beach and surrounded by dozens of other breakfast, pancake and waffle houses, so they must be doing something right. We were in Myrtle Beach the week of Thanksgiving Week and enjoyed Mammy's so much, we ate breakfast there twice. The buffet is plain ol' Southern fabulous. The restaurant was busy on Wednesday and much busier on Friday. Most notably, the fresh fruit (watermelon, oranges and grapefruit) was sweet and juicy. All breakfast items were hot, fresh and constantly replenished. Particularly notable items were the special egg scramble, homemade biscuits, fluffy pancakes with heated syrup, seasoned home fries, hash browns and the LINK SAUSAGES. We ate. I am a slow eater and I also share with the Hubby so i had his plate in the middle to eat some hashbrowns since he was done instead of putting on my small BLT plate. The server comes by and starts picking it up...BIG PEEVE OF MINE ASK BEFORE TAKING MY PLATE...I said I am still eating that. The inside seems ok, looks like carpet could use a cleaning. 5/13/13: First time in SC & at this restaurant. We got there around 9:45 am & the line was out the door. It was packed. We got in and seated pretty quickly though, so that was cool. I had already checked Yelp and their menu ahead of time, so I knew I'd be ordering Chicken & Waffle. My friend got the buffet. The server was quick with the drink order, but I barely saw her anymore after that. My waffle was very bland and cold. The chicken breast had a good flavor to it, but I had to put a punch of salt on it to make it pop. I ended up taking most of my food to go. It was just too many people in there for me. My friend enjoyed the buffet for the most part because he's greedy and eats anything. He got seconds of the eggs and bacon. The bacon was soggy, but, again, he likes that. The food was just OK. Buffet anywhere from $1-$5 over what regular menu items are with a lot less food, soooo... Considering the place is so close to the beach, price is not as bad as it could be ($56 for 2 adult buffets w/coffee). The place is very dated, but I guess that's part of the "nostalgia". We went to Mammy's twice in the five days we stayed there. The buffet had amazing prepped food, as well as fresh food options for my spouse and kids. I loved the pecan pancakes with smoked sausage! Never had anything like either. So amazing! One of my kids got their blueberry pancakes- filled with real, fresh blueberries! So delicious! Our first stop when we got to Myrtle Beach. Mammys have been a staple for Myrtle Beach for a long time. Me and the kids had the breakfast buffet. It was a pretty decent size buffet. It was in two parts. Half of it was fresh fruits and the other half was hot foot. You can have all the bacon, sausage, eggs, corn beef has, grits, biscuit?gravy, and pancakes that you want! I ate here twice on my most recent trip to Myrtle Beach. It was in the off-season, and right when they opened, so it wasn't very busy at all. It's definitely an older building, but very clean on the inside and the staff is super friendly. Plentiful items on the buffet, the usual breakfast buffet fair. The bacon is extra crispy (how I like), and the French toast is quite tasty. They also have bountiful biscuits and gravy and corn beef hash if that's your thing. The eggs do taste fresh and not some weird bio engineered product. Only two items keep me from giving it five stars First, the price, with coffee it's a touch over $20 a person. I don't think that's crazy, but for breakfast it's pretty steep. It's very tough to eat anywhere near that amount of food to justify the cost imho. Maybe drop the coffee price from $4 to $2? Second, food temperature. I visited two days in a row, both when they first opened, both when the buffet was super fresh. At best everything was room temperature. I'm not super hard to please, and thankfully it was tasty enough, but I could see, as other reviewers have mentioned , the food temp being a little bit offputting. All in all, I would certainly recommend and return. If they could get the food temp correct, then the pricing piece may be a little bit more in order. Nobody likes paying for an expensive meal and it being room temperature. read more

This place is delicious! It's a cute diner with great waitstaff. Their prices are cheap/reasonable in my opinion. They have a breakfast buffet with everything breakfast you can imagine. I've never tried it but my family has and they liked it a lot. Tons of fruit on there too! I've been twice and both times got the Philly cheesesteak off the lunch menu (available after 11). First time I got half fries half onion rings. Second time only onions rings. The meat is shaved finely, the cheese melted throughout makes the fish have a creamy texture, and there's a perfect amount of peppers and onions. It's so friggin good I crave it on a weekly basis. They close at 2pm which I'm not a fan of, because I never make it in time to eat here, but it's a breakfast place so I get it. If you have a chance, give this place a try! read more
