I'll preface with this is my 2nd stay at this property. While it's laid out fairly well (once you…read moreget the lay of the land down) there are a few quirky things that take some getting used to. - Flashing your room key virtually everywhere. Yes, i understand security, but even getting to the pool deck you have to have your bag checked and room key presented (non weekends). Weekends one gets a wristband. - Service is hit or miss. My first impression of the front desk was not positive. As the person helping us had an aura of not wanting to be there. - Shops / Casual restaurants close way too early. If you want a quick bite / snack after 6pm, your only option is Chez Bon (Sim to a Starbucks). Gelato they have rocks though (they're open until 10pm or 11pm depending). FYI beach is across a small boardwalk path of sorts. Umbrellas are reasonable for the day at $32. Chairs are included. LIV nightclub is a bit small and overrated for the price. Also, it's a no re-entry. They did not specify this when we attended a concert there.

Got into town late and the hotel restaurant was closed. A Google search showed me Primo Cafe and…read moreMarket, one block away was still open. I checked it out and glad I did. Nice clean store with lots of drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options) prepared foods, desserts and pastries, snacks as well as Sundries and souvenirs. I didn't want something too heavy and was trying to eat somewhat healthy since it was after 11:30 p.m. and I needed to go to sleep soon. I was able to order a salad that they made fresh and I'm super impressed by the size of the salad itself and all of the great ingredients inside. Especially appreciated how she heated up the grilled chicken and gave me a ton of avocado. Usually when you add avocado to things it's just a few slices but they make those avocados really big down here in Miami and I feel like she gave me almost a quarter of the Giant avocado. It tasted good, she was very pleasant and it was a very good price.

The rest of the sandwich was just really soggy greasy. The empanada I got was stale and underwhelming. Service was nice. I wouldn't order food here again, as I've seen others have had trouble with the quality of meat being bad as well. This place did have a variety of convenient items here if you forgot sunscreen or wanted an ice cream.

Really was excited for this meal prep company because they are one of the cleanest I have found-…read morethey don't use seed oils or xanthan gum or other thickening agents. Lots of pros- great customer service, vacuum-sealed meals, ALL ingredients listed on label, healthy and low calorie meals, and fair prices. Unfortunately, a few cons that outweigh the pros- next to NO veggies in the meals (3 pieces of broccoli or asparagus isn't enough), only deliver on Wednesdays, food has a weird texture and consistency (may be from vacuum sealing it while it's hot), and the flavor overall is lacking. I was also bummed that despite being so "clean", they are package in plastic. I didn't mind not "picking" meals every week (just the # of them), but a lot of people may have an issue with that. Really wanted to like this company, but wouldn't recommend it.

My husband and I are trying three different food delivery companies over this month. Each company…read morewe have food delivery for one week lunch and dinner for myself and my husband. I'm doing this to lose weight and my husband's doing it to maintain maybe lose a couple of pounds but nothing major. That' is consistent with all the other companies we are trying. I make our breakfast and we would eat just their lunch and dinner. This was the only company out of the three that I did not lose any weight the whole week. Because me and my husband got the exact same food, we weighed the meals and sometimes there was a huge difference in the weight of the meal, but the calories are the same You do not get to pick any food on this plan although you do get to pick some dislikes and other than that you getting what they give. They state that it' is an organic farm, so you will get local and fresh. I found their meat to be very chewy. And their vegetables were not cooked or severely undercooked. I like my vegetables al dente and I had to put the spaghetti squash in the microwave for six minutes just to get it a decent texture. Also, the first day we had broccoli rabe or broccolini, and it was literally raw and not good. Their broccoli was very under cooked as well. Plan on cooking the veggies most of the time separate from the meat due to veggies being pretty raw. So if you want to eat organic food, that's grown local - so they claim, this might be a good way for you to go. I found the food macros to be off significantly and no consistency in the meals. They also say they only get local or wild caught, and one dinner they had salmon. It was not sockeye salmon, nor did they state where the salmon came from or what type it was Out of the three meal companies that we tried, this one was the worst. They delivered a little after midnight and they do not put an ice pack in the bottom of the bag, just on top which was thawed by the time my husband woke up to get the bag at 5am.

My friend found out about this small artisan food market that was being held on Lincoln Road in the…read morerun up to the Food and Wine Festival. I love Lincoln Road and all of its art deco architecture so it was fun to take a little road trip to check out the market in one of my favorite Miami locales. Lincoln Road is a historic road in South Beach with restaurants and shops. It is closed to cars so you have to find parking on one of the side streets or at one of the city lots nearby. We lucked out with parking but Waze sent me off to the market in the wrong direction. If it wasn't so hot out I would have really enjoyed the extra exploration of Lincoln Road. Eventually we got turned around in the right direction and found the market next to a vintage market that was also being held. That is the thing you can really love about Lincoln Road, there is always something going on. Once we finally found the market it was a greatest hits of some of the best local prepared food vendors in the area. These are the folks who don't have a brick and mortar location so you follow them on Facebook or Instagram to see where they will pop up. We ran into our friends from Sinabuns who we last saw at Dessert Wars at the airport convention center. Also on hand was Better Than Your Mother's who makes cookies so decadent that they are laced with edible gold. She kindly gave us a sample of the best chocolate chip cookie I have ever eaten. I Knead More was selling outrageously delicious guava and cheese babka but I was most excited to find a booth selling four medium stone crab claws for $17. Stone crab claws are God's Christmas present to Floridians. Yes they are expensive but they are so succulent and sweet and only here for a short time. I bought a box and dug in with my friend. An extravagance befitting the holidays. The market even had a booth where you could scan a QR code and enter online to try and win tickets to the SOBE Food and Wine festival. Tickets run from the $100 and up price range per event so wish me luck. This market was a nice way to support local businesses and get everyone excited about the upcoming festival. I am so glad I had a chance to check it out.
