    ### **Absolutely Terrible Customer Service -- Raising Cane's Has Lost a Customer**…read more **Raising Cane's in Virginia Beach has some serious customer-service problems.** During the **grand opening week**, I ordered six chicken fingers. When I got home, I discovered that **two were missing from my order**. I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager named **Bianca**, who told me to come back and said they would replace the order I kept my receipt, wrote down exactly what happened on it, and included Bianca's name. I finally returned to the restaurant today, **September 11, 2026, at approximately 1:00 PM**, expecting them to simply honor what their own manager had promised. Instead, the manager on duty told the employee at the counter to give me **two chicken tenders and NOT replace the meal**. **Are you serious?** This wasn't about getting something for free. **Your restaurant made a mistake. Your manager told me how it would be corrected. I kept the receipt and came back as instructed. Then your manager on duty decided not to honor that commitment.** That's not customer service. That's **cheap, stingy, and disrespectful**. If two chicken tenders are such a big deal that you're willing to argue with a customer and disregard what your own manager promised, then you've got a much bigger problem than an incorrect order. The manager on duty today was **unprofessional and handled the situation terribly**. There was absolutely no effort to make the situation right or leave the customer feeling valued. And let me be clear: **Raising Cane's has lost a customer over this.** I could be starving, drive right past a Raising Cane's, and **still choose somewhere else to eat**. That's how badly this experience has soured my opinion of the company. Mistakes happen. **How you fix those mistakes is what matters.** Raising Cane's had an opportunity to fix a simple problem and keep a customer. Instead, they chose to be cheap over two chicken tenders. **Never again.**

Their Coleslaw is perfection. It's pure coleslaw, just like I like it, without sauce or mayonnaise. They have an extensive list of milkshake flavors, which I'm told are amazing. A few are seasonal. My continuous dieting has kept me from trying them. But when December arrives I may splurge calories on an Egg Nog Shake. Anytime I'm in the area, or close to the area I'll stop and buy enough for two meals. Each sandwich is wrapped in a thick heavy aluminum foil type wrap, which keeps the bun soft in the refrigerator. The coleslaw is best for me on the side. But there's never enough for the second day. Yesterday I ordered two side orders of coleslaw. They were the same small size of the "slaw on the side" ones. I know they must have larger containers. Next time I'm going to be more descriptive in my order. The personnel are friendly and helpful. Every time I've been, regardless of time, the same woman has been at the register. The location is just off Military Highway. The storefront appears to be on that major thoroughfare. But the parking lot is entered and faces Valley Drive. If approaching from the south there is no curb cut. One had to make a U turn to reach Valley Drive. If headed north from the restaurant I continue on Valley Drive and take a right on Raby Road which takes you to a traffic signal on Military Highway. The storefront is attractive and captures one's attention. The inside is spacious with fast food type booths that are larger than most. The walls are decorated with hangings such as one featuring the Old Dominion Monarchs. There were once rumors of a store being built in the Haygood area. So far that hasn't happened. Please come a little bit closer to me Cook Out. We are waiting impatiently for you.

My…read moredaughter remembered enjoying Bojangles chicken in Manhattan years ago, so we found the location nearest our hotel. When we arrived, Bree, the cashier, greeted us warmly. She was welcoming, helpful, and offered thoughtful order suggestions. She was also patient, professional, and knowledgeable, and she processed our orders and payments quickly and efficiently. The staff who prepared our food were friendly and attentive, making sure every order was correct. Their attention to detail was excellent from start to finish. I ordered Bo's chicken sandwich, not spicy, along with a biscuit and peach iced tea. The sandwich was well seasoned, and the biscuit was golden brown on top, pale on the sides, flaky on the outside, and soft and layered inside. Its flavor was rich, buttery, and mild. The peach iced tea was delicious, and altogether, everything was finger-licking good. The Bojangles team, from the cashier to the cooks and order preparers, worked together smoothly. Even during the busy lunch rush, they remained calm, friendly, and attentive with a wonderful sense of humor. I also had the pleasure of meeting Vince, the Director of Operations at this location. He represented the company exceptionally well. He was personable, efficient, and clearly skilled at managing both the team and production. During the lunch rush, I saw him clearing tables and greeting guests when the dining area became short-staffed because of the crowd. He gave clear, precise instructions without raising his voice, speaking to his staff in a calm and respectful way. The mutual respect between Vince and his team was easy to see. Until next time, keep up the great work.

You can customize nearly everything, and while that kind of complexity could easily bog things down, I've found this location to be impressively efficient. The staff keeps the drive-thru moving, fast and to the point. That said, if you're new or just indecisive, I highly recommend going inside. The menu is huge, and if you're not ready when it's your turn, you might feel a little rushed. My husband and I text our orders to each other and read off our phones to keep things moving. Cook Out was once the king of budget eats -- I remember when a tray (entrée + 2 sides + a drink) was around $5. Those days are behind us. These days it's more like $7-$8, which still isn't bad, but the creep is noticeable. One of my latest discoveries that might change your life: they sell slices of cheesecake. Yes -- actual cheesecake for around $3. You can add any of their milkshake toppings to it. Crushed Oreos on your cheesecake? Done. Strawberry syrup and peanut butter cups? Go for it. It's dangerously indulgent. In short: Cook Out is chaotic in concept, but smooth in execution -- especially at this location. It's not fine dining, but if you're craving cookout classics with infinite combos and quick service, it hits the spot (esp late night cravings!!!!)

In 2023, they closed their original location of Shore Drive and set sights on a new local which was expanded. They have finally reopened and we got a chance to stop in to see how they were doing. Let's check it out shall we? We were seated a minute after walking in. There were a few people dining inside on this cloudy day. The decor is nice resembling a type of restaurant you may see in New Orleans. Right when I was looking through the menu, I ran into Chef Moe who greeted me with a handshake. It has been years since we last saw each other but the vibes came right back since Sophia and I were long-standing customers. We couldn't talk long since he was busy, but it was great to run into him again smiling from ear to ear seeing me there. Great people indeed. How was the food you might ask? Pretty damn good. We both ordered their fried catfish meals with sides (mine came with fries and sweet cornbread and Sophia's with mashed potatoes and gravy and mac-and-cheese). The fish was seasoned perfectly and was huge. It was big enough to cover a football field (just kidding). The fries, as always, tasted great and the cornbread was delish. The both of us ended up taking home leftovers where the food didn't lose any taste from before. It was so refreshing to stop by after so many years. And it was wonderful seeing Chef Moe continue to bring good vibes to the Norfolk community through his cooking. You know we'll be back soon. Till next time :)
