We had a great experience at Blueberry Hill. We came on a Sunday morning and were able to get a table despite the restaurant being super packed. It's no surprise why they were busy because the food and service were great. Despite having a full house, we got continuous coffee refills, little wait to order, and only about 15 minutes of wait for the food. Wow! We met another couple here for breakfast. First time here for all of us. All I can say is wow! The service, the speed of food prep, the food quality and the care the staff took is amazing. I eat a lot of places all over the country and the world and it's hard to find a restaurant that checks all the boxes unless you're fine-dining and paying a fortune. We were seated right away at a large round table. Jenny, our server was here with water and coffee right away. She gave us plenty of time to chat with our friends and eventually, we were ready to order. She took our order and I'm telling you what - food was out in minutes. Like 5 minutes! It's a family tradition for our extended family to meet up at a spot for brunch after the holidays. They have multiple locations, but we decided to try the cafe in LaGrange. Because of the location, there are lots of little shops to stop in before and after eating. The menu is quite expansive, but I decided to go with the country skillet which featured ham, bacon, tomatoes, and onions; plus potatoes and eggs. I asked for cheddar cheese, but I wished it was shredded and melted. It was still edible. The skillet came with two pancakes. The atmosphere was very family oriented, and it appears as though there are a lot of repeat visitors. If I'm in the area again, I'd go back to try other items on the menu. read more

I tried out blueberry hill cafe and the first experience was okay, not the best but not the worst. I got the Nutella and banana crepes which were good. Personally I think prices are to high for the amount of food given. I went my second time and ordered a ham with cheese skillet and red velvet pancakes and I was extremely disappointed. The skillet consisted of chunks of potato on the bottom with a full slab of ham (not cut up) and poured cheese which was way to much. And on top an egg. I had to put up the ham (which isn't much of a problem) but is pretty inconvenient. The cheese even when mixed with everything was all I could taste. The skillet cake with toast or pancakes and I asked for red velvet pancakes because I had them at another location and were very good. I knew there would be an extra charge so I was fine with that. The pancakes came and they were burnt, they were brown on the outside which looked nothing like RED velvet pancakes. The inside was dry as a bone and tasted terrible. I took one bite and knew I would not be finishing that. I talked to the manger and told him about my issue with the pancakes and that I'm not paying the extra charge and he was friendly and apologetic. I left the comment about the skillet out because I already ate too much of it. The waitress we had had a constant attitude and also I wasn't aware of the 2.80 charge of coffee. Stopped in just to grab breakfast one random morning and I'm glad I did. Walking in it was very clean, staff were polite and greeted us. Although it was packed we were able to be sat with no wait. We stopped here for the first time since covid-45 and remembered why we love this place. I took my wife here after she had some medical testing done, and she wanted to eat here. My first time at this location in Lagrange. I usually go to the one in Oak Brook by Butterfield Road. I was over in the area and decide to stop in for breakfast. I was immediately seated by the window area. It was a nice and sunny day to look out the window. I ordered the scrambled egg, sausage links, hashbrowns with wheat toast. A nice cup of hot java. The food was good. Everything came out exactly the way I liked my food. Hot and freshly made with some tender loving care. The service was ok. I kept having to ask the waiter for some grape jelly. Wow!! Wonderful staff, delicious breakfast! Stopped in for the first time on a beautiful Sunday morning and the place was hopping. One of the guests in our party uses a mobility scooter and from the moment we walked in everyone we encountered went above and beyond to accommodate us. While cooked fine, and as ordered, the food lacked much flavor. It appeared the food was not seasoned, which I guess is better than too much seasoning, but still, a little bland. Based on other reviews, it appears this is a common occurrence and trend at this restaurant. Luckily the table did have hot sauce (3 different kinds), salt and pepper to season as you would like. Always seen this breakfast spot whenever driving down La Grange Rd, and finally had an opportunity to stop there for some good ol' breakfast time. Please do not let the few parking spots in front discourage you, there's a huge parking structure less than a block away, and it's free!! The place was buzzing with a large mix of families, business associates, friends, and lone customers, not one of them had a frown on their face. The place has a very warm feeling, bright lights from the huge windows and offered table seating or booths, all you had to do was ask and they would make the change. Everyone at the table either had their coffee, which the cups were never allowed to go past half empty, thank you Patty, or fresh squeezed orange juice. Since it was pushing closer to 11:00 am, I opted for lunch, the Mediterranean Wrap, which included a delicious cream of mushroom soup with some egg noodles in it. The chicken was moist, they used a nice amount of Kalamata olives, which was perfect for me, with lettuce and tomato. It came with some fries, but I should've went with the fresh fruit next time. The rest of the table had the French Toast, King of the Hill Omelette, children's French toast (which would've been a lot for an adult) and the California Skillet. The eggs were perfectly cooked especially when they ordered them over easy, because there have been times those yolks were still moving. Lol Patty was taking care of us and she did a fantastic job, even though she was working 7 other tables!! She made sure everything was how we wanted it and really took her time to explain any of the menu items and list the specials. If you're in the La Grange area Blueberry Hill is a must try for breakfast or brunch. We've dined here on a couple of occasions and we are always impressed by the delicious food and the friendly service. Both indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) dining are available and are great experiences. The outdoor dining situation consists of patio tables along the sidewalk and the indoor dining has a casual diner atmosphere. It's usually busy, especially on the weekends, but the staff is always friendly and the service is always excellent. Now onto the food. We love their skillets. They are always generously portioned and they come with two pieces of toast or two homemade buttermilk pancakes. We always pick the pancakes because they are so fluffy and literally melt in your mouth. We've also tried the Stuffed Apple French toast which is a dreamy combination of soft, delicious French toast, warm apples, pecans, and cream cheese. It's incredibly filling because it's so rich. The potato pancakes are always good, too. They're perfectly crisped and an excellent savory addition to breakfast. The chunky monkey waffle is another of my favorites. It's a crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside Belgian waffle with pecans in the batter. It's topped with fresh banana slices, chopped pecans, chocolate drizzle, and whipped cream. The pecans paired with the bananas and chocolate are the perfect sweet and slightly salty combo. If you are a fan of waffles, you definitely need to try this one. In all, we are always impressed by Blueberry Hill and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious spot for breakfast/brunch. read more

I tend to go between the chilaquiles, omelets and Monte Cristo - all very different but all some of the best around. You can see over the years that they have expanded at least twice and even added outdoor tables for the spring and summer - the demand is always there BUT since they have a lot of tables and everyone hustles the wait is never bad. Recently tried this place for the first time. We ordered brunch for takeout. The food was cooked fine, however nothing was seasoned. My wife ordered country fried steak and eggs and this was the first time I've ever tasted country fried steak that was lacking in salt. My blue plate special was similarly unseasoned - tasted like there was no salt or pepper used. Not sure if this is how they always serve their food, or if it's a health thing, but the food sorely needs some salt and pepper. This is the first time for me at this location. It's very busy on a Sunday. We had a birthday luncheon here for 11 of us. So we had a couple tables put together and it made a long booth table and another 4 seater booth. It was easy for us to see and communicate. It's simply decorated and feels like home. I am often surprised at the speed of the ticket turnaround times, even with a full house. I would describe the food as high quality, family diner style.
