    Country Skillet
    Angela V.

It's a family tradition for our extended family to meet up at a spot for brunch after the holidays. Usually it's somewhere none of us have tried, but decide to go purely based on photos from Instagram, word of mouth, or a foodie tv show. This year, we went to Blueberry Hill Breakfast Cafe. They have multiple locations, but we decided to try the cafe in LaGrange. Because of the location, there are lots of little shops to stop in before and after eating. The menu is quite expansive, but I decided to go with the country skillet which featured ham, bacon, tomatoes, and onions; plus potatoes and eggs. I asked for cheddar cheese, but I wished it was shredded and melted. It was still edible. The skillet came with two pancakes. The atmosphere was very family oriented, and it appears as though there are a lot of repeat visitors. If I'm in the area again, I'd go back to try other items on the menu.

    Ham and cheese skillet. Horrible

I tried out blueberry hill cafe and the first experience was okay, not the best but not the worst. I got the Nutella and banana crepes which were good. Personally I think prices are to high for the amount of food given. I went my second time and ordered a ham with cheese skillet and red velvet pancakes and I was extremely disappointed. The skillet consisted of chunks of potato on the bottom with a full slab of ham (not cut up) and poured cheese which was way to much. And on top an egg. I had to put up the ham (which isn't much of a problem) but is pretty inconvenient. The cheese even when mixed with everything was all I could taste. The skillet cake with toast or pancakes and I asked for red velvet pancakes because I had them at another location and were very good. I knew there would be an extra charge so I was fine with that. The pancakes came and they were burnt, they were brown on the outside which looked nothing like RED velvet pancakes. The inside was dry as a bone and tasted terrible. I took one bite and knew I would not be finishing that. I talked to the manger and told him about my issue with the pancakes and that I'm not paying the extra charge and he was friendly and apologetic. I left the comment about the skillet out because I already ate too much of it. The waitress we had had a constant attitude and also I wasn't aware of the 2.80 charge of coffee. I thought it would be complementary since the prices of the food were insane. Before the fix in my check it came out to $37.59 and after talking to the manger it went to $35.45. DO NOT RECOMMEND AR

This place is very casual and small. The ambience is cozy. The service was great. It was on point and she was constantly asking us if we're OK or if we needed anything which I like and the food was OK. I'm a big fan i'm strong coffee so the coffee here is not that's wrong lol but better than most. I love my hashbrowns crispy the shoelace kind these were OK. However it's a simple place and it's not expensive. So definitely a place to check out.

We stopped here for the first time since covid-45 and remembered why we love this place. I took my wife here after she had some medical testing done, and she wanted to eat here. I ordered the pumpkin spice pancakes and she had egg omelette with sausage, potatoes and English muffins on the side. It was more than we could eat for one meal, see pictures. We will continue going here for many years into the future. Our server was Sarah and she was the best and tipped accordingly. Thanks for great food and service. The Millers.

My first time at this location in Lagrange. I usually go to the one in Oak Brook by Butterfield Road. I was over in the area and decide to stop in for breakfast. I was immediately seated by the window area. It was a nice and sunny day to look out the window. I ordered the scrambled egg, sausage links, hashbrowns with wheat toast. A nice cup of hot java. The food was good. Everything came out exactly the way I liked my food. Hot and freshly made with some tender loving care. The service was ok. I kept having to ask the waiter for some grape jelly. It's like she forgot until she came back to my table to refill my coffee mug. Other than the jelly issue everything else was ok. The prices are decent. Clean and spacious dining area.

Both meals came with a soup of the day which for us happened to be creamy chicken which we both enjoyed very much. The actual food however was not the best. The steak sandwich was cooked well , but was missing a sauce to bring the flavors together. The chicken basket turned out to be dry chicken tenders. In my opinion they were over cooked.

Good decent place for breakfast in the area. We found ourselves in La Grange around brunch time and decided to give this place a try. We were seated immediately, which we were pleased about, as many spots in the area typically have long waits. Space is quite large, with many tables available, and two main seating areas. Staff was kind, attentive, and welcoming. We ended up ordering typical breakfast fare, and it was so-so. I got eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, and toast. While cooked fine, and as ordered, the food lacked much flavor. It appeared the food was not seasoned, which I guess is better than too much seasoning, but still, a little bland. Based on other reviews, it appears this is a common occurrence and trend at this restaurant. Luckily the table did have hot sauce (3 different kinds), salt and pepper to season as you would like. Overall, I would say Blueberry Hill has more of a diner feel, with large portions, so-so food, friendly staff, and fast service. Decent, but nothing to write home about.

If you're in the La Grange area Blueberry Hill is a must try for breakfast or brunch. We've dined here on a couple of occasions and we are always impressed by the delicious food and the friendly service. Both indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) dining are available and are great experiences. The outdoor dining situation consists of patio tables along the sidewalk and the indoor dining has a casual diner atmosphere. It's usually busy, especially on the weekends, but the staff is always friendly and the service is always excellent. Now onto the food. We love their skillets. They are always generously portioned and they come with two pieces of toast or two homemade buttermilk pancakes. We always pick the pancakes because they are so fluffy and literally melt in your mouth. We've also tried the Stuffed Apple French toast which is a dreamy combination of soft, delicious French toast, warm apples, pecans, and cream cheese. It's incredibly filling because it's so rich. The potato pancakes are always good, too. They're perfectly crisped and an excellent savory addition to breakfast. The chunky monkey waffle is another of my favorites. It's a crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside Belgian waffle with pecans in the batter. It's topped with fresh banana slices, chopped pecans, chocolate drizzle, and whipped cream. The pecans paired with the bananas and chocolate are the perfect sweet and slightly salty combo. If you are a fan of waffles, you definitely need to try this one. In all, we are always impressed by Blueberry Hill and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious spot for breakfast/brunch.

I had the red pepper and cheddar quiche -- delicious! It was light and fluffy and came out in great timing. The salad was crisp and fresh, and the dressing was light -- just enough. But for a premium price, I expect premium product, and this place is rough around the edges in ways that feel easy to fix. I'm pointing them out in hopes they'll be corrected. First the positive - the food was pretty good. Not great for the price, but pretty good. Drip coffee was better than most diners/cafes in the area. The ambience was pleasant. Here's the issues. 1. The furniture needs a refresh and I don't think the place has even been open that long. The side tables by the window are losing their finish - a fragment of wood got caught under my finger nail as I was sitting down and just lightly grazed the table with my hand. I also brushed away a few additional flakes coming up. The chiffon curtains are charming until you look closer and see they're speckled with food from past diners. A moss ball decoration in the bathroom is missing half its moss. It's little stuff, obviously, but when I spot things like this at a place otherwise charging a premium partially for cute aesthetics, I always get concerned that the lack of attention to detail might also be getting reflected in the food. 2. Value for money and food quality are also an issue. $20 for one slice of sourdough cut in half, a rather overdone French omelette with sour cream on top (not mentioned on the menu and a weird choice) a bowl of fruit I wasn't interested in rather than a choice of free side, and sausages I paid extra for, is not good value to me. The bread was good! The omelette was mediocre. The sausage was very solid, had a slight funk to it that I liked and suggested to me it was made in house - but 7 dollars for two sausage patties is absolutely wild. I would suggest Milkstop rethink the combos on its menu to include more and be priced a touch more transparently. 3. Finally, service. Everyone was VERY KIND, again, want to stress that, but service was slow and rather inattentive for most of the meal. The place was only half full, but water and an initial drink order were slow, and I waited for a while for the check while the staff chatted amongst themselves in the corner of the room. Not trying to be a dick, the life of a service worker is tough, but the place was mostly empty and I noticed they already charge a 3% service gratuity on your orders, so I'd expect a little better. Basically this place has a very charming surface with some wonkiness around the edges. I will definitely come back again but guys, come on - ditch the gross chiffon curtains, for both our sakes.

I ordered the skirt steak medium rare and it's was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Flavorful, tender and juicy! Hash browns were extra crispy and the grilled onion enhanced the flavors. The pancake and ham sandwich was as big as your head! Country fried steak was filling and topped with delicious gravy and cheesy hash browns. The chilaquiles was some of the best I had. A bit spicy, but the homemade salsa verde was delicious! We've ordered many different entrees from the menu before and they were not disappointing. The cream of chicken soup, patty melts, onions rings, milk shakes, blts, cheeseburgers were all delicious.
