I have not found the right salon in Nashville yet for highlights and have yet to be satisfied. Friends of mine highly recommended this salon so Saturday morning they called to see if they could get me an appt. they were very accommodating and were able to secure me an appt for highlights with Leti. Leti did an AMAZING job. Not only did she rock it, she was quick too....so a double bonus. You are talking about someone that is so picky with how their hair comes out. I am over the moon happy and received a ton of compliments at a holiday party this evening. I have been going to Manal for more than 8 years and have followed her from salon to salon. She now has her own salon in Lincoln Square. She is incredibly skilled as a stylist, and makes certain that she understands what her customer wants. My hair is fine and thin and works best with a perm. She gives me perms several times each year; she is quick and my hair remains in good condition, never burned or frizzed. The atmosphere in her salon is welcoming and peaceful, with nice music playing, tea available. She is friendly and warm, but very professional and works very quickly. She has recommended Aveda products that work well with my hair, but is never pushy in trying to sell products or services I don't want. I can't recommend her more highly. read more

I met Manal a few months after she opened. I was elated! I had tried out a few other salons in the neighborhood to get an idea as to who I was gonna use for my wedding day. If you look closely in one of my photos, you can see the back of my hair, as I wanted a modified version of a 'pinup' hair style. I was trying to do a romantic version of a 50's look! I had a rehearsal with her a few months before, and she showed through on the day of! Not only for me, but also for my MIL, SIL, and best woman! My hair lasted the entire evening! Wow. I first got a haircut with Manal last year when she was at Michael's. I posted a review there - it was about Manal rather than the salon. She was wonderful. So when I found her in Chicago, in her own salon, I hurried on over. I will never regret it! She works hard, has excellent skills, takes an interest in her art, and is very pleasant (and not at all fake). I also got my eyebrows done with her. With both haircut and eyebrows, she took her time doing an excellent job, and then when I asked her to take a little more length off and do the arch a bit more, she happily plunged into perfecting her work with my feedback. Manal is not only a truly amazing stylist but also a really nice and incredibly person. She speaks 4 languages fluently! But let's talk about my hair. My hair is tough to cut - super thick, coarse, and very straight. It doesn't do well with blunt cuts that so many stylists like to give it. But she knew right away what would work best with my type and length, and luckily it's what I was going to ask for. She gave me a scalp massage before my wash, which was heavenly. Just came from a waxing appointment for my daughter. They were kind enough to squeeze us in on short notice, which I really appreciated. This was our first time at Manal Studio, and it was impressive! The studio is beautiful, impeccably clean, stylish, comfortable. Manal couldn't be friendlier or more professional, and the same can be said of her staff. They greeted us warmly, offered water or hot tea and invited us to sit in a comfortable waiting area. I have lived in Chicago and the near burbs for almost ten years and have been searching for the right stylist and salon the entire time. I don't think I've gone to the same place twice in that time. I'm picky and I want what I want. My patience and persistence have been rewarded! Manal is a tremendous stylist who never disappoints. She is warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home in her beautifully styled, ultra clean salon in Lincoln Square. She listens well and ensures she understands exactly what you are wanting to achieve with your hair. (And if you don't know, she's an amazing artist who will ensure you leave with a cut and color that suits you and your hair type.) She is detail-oriented, taking the time to explain what she is doing and ensures that every nuance is, quite literally, perfect. For other women out there who rock a short do like me, she's perfection - the lines are clean yet feminine and there are no scissor marks. EVER. Manal is also a great colorist, executing beautifully to create depth and definition. Finally, there is never any pressure to buy products or services. If you ask about what products she is using, she will explain what they are and why she's using them, but it's completely up to you if you want to make a purchase. I am so happy that my friend recommended Manal to me. I have never liked my hair more or received so many compliments on my hair in my life! I have very straight, fine, rather thin hair and Manal has given me a short cut which works beautifully.
