I had such a first visit great experience at Mancini's Sleepworld in Salinas today! The store looked clean, beautiful and inviting, with a wide array of comfortable mattresses on display. I went in to purchase two pillows and was very fortunate to work with Maria Ruiz who was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the process so easy. She asked good questions and also explained what probably happened to my existing pillow which was over 7 years old. I ended up choosing two firm Tempur-Pedic pillows, and they are absolutely wonderful. After struggling with my old pillow that kept collapsing in the middle, I went home, tried my new Tempur-Pedic pillow, and enjoyed the best nap I've had in ages! My neck and head felt evenly supported and very comfortable. Maria also shared the inspiring story of the company's founder and famiy when I asked. I learned how over more than 55 years, Mancini's Sleepworld has grown throughout much of Northern and Central California. It made me appreciate even more the care and quality they put into their business. Next time we need a mattress, I'll feel completely confident buying it from one of their stores--and I'll definitely explore their selection of sheets and other bedding, too. I am not the type to the write negative reviews but Mancini's really screwed us. We went in August to order a mattress for our new place we would be moving to in October. Rod told us he had it in the store but we told him we didn't want it delivered until October. He said that was fine. We received a call a week before delivery date telling us our mattress was now on back order...aka they SOLD OUR MATTRESS and now we were stuck waiting another 4 weeks. We completely understand that everything is backed up due to covid; however this is exactly why we were purchasing our mattress in August. There was nothing else we could do so we waited. Our mattress was finally delivered 4 weeks later & we received a low box spring and not the regular height we ordered. Ron said he would have someone pick up the box spring and deliver the correct size. We quickly realized the mattress wasn't even the one we ordered! (It was the same brand and looked the same but it wasn't the pillow top we ordered...) At this point, after the third mistake, I called Ron and asked for a full refund and I returned the mattress. Truthfully, Ron did not seem apologetic AT ALL and did nothing to accommodate us for the trouble. When he sold the mattress we ordered in august, he supposedly took $50 off our total but then we received that flimsy box spring so pretty sure that's where the "discount" was given. When we called to ask about the box spring he told us he thought that's the one we wanted because of "the changes we had made"...to this day I am not sure what changes he was talking about because we did not make any changes... I also called corporate to try and file a complaint and they never called me back...very disappointing. We ended up going to JcPenny and got the correct mattress in 2 and a half weeks and $200 cheaper than Ron's "deal" he was giving us. NEVER GOING BACK HERE & NEVER RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE! OK. So this is like my second review in my whole life. We normally don't go out and spend thousands of dollars on a bed but this was the time to do it my wife and I walked into the store and met Rod and he gave us an hour and a half demonstration of what they had and we discussed with him what we wanted. We went with the Tempur-pedic model that was a little bit more than what we wanted to spend but it was well worth it. Unfortunately one of the units upon arrived was malfunctioning a little bit or should I say just a little too noisy I called right up and he had it replaced immediately. My significant other and I have been shopping around for a bed since July when we knew we'd be moving to a new house and decided our current bed was causing us both significant back pain. We went to other local mattress stores and laid on beds until we had an idea of what it was that we wanted. I went online to do research on prices and Mancini's was notably the least expensive for the brand we desired, so we popped on over to the Salinas store. We were helped by Jake, who was helpful but not at all pushy, which I really appreciated. Other stores you can tell the sales people are on commission, this was not at all the sense I got at Mancini's. Jake allowed us to have the time we needed to try the beds, and even helped us find a most cost-effective solution to my significant other's desire for an adjustable base, and my desire to not spend wildly, considering I'm a broke graduate student. When he quoted us the prices for what we wanted I was amazed! I had anticipated paying 500-1000 more based on what other stores had quoted us, but with the great price I couldn't say no! We ended up getting the bed I wanted and the base my s.o. wanted, and we are both very happy. Jake's helpfulness and calm demeanor made the whole experience very pleasant. My friends are all super excited to lay on our new bed, (they're so jealous) and they were also impressed with the pricing. Had a rather unpleasant experience with Adam, ordered a bed frame for our new place and received a delivery date. Once the deliver date came we got no call, I called adam and he stated that our bed frame was one month out. He told us to go into the store to make things right, we settled for a set that he had in stock and was going to deliver the next day. Next day comes around and they showed up with the WRONG bed frame, we decided to simply give up and take what was delivered. read more

My fiancee and I went back to Mancini's to exchange a mattress that we had purchased over 3 months earlier as it wasn't quite as comfortable as we would have liked. Rico assisted us in the transaction and allowed us to spend a few hours wallowing all over the matteesses. Once we found the mattress we liked Rico did the exchange, had delivery set for the following day and walked us through the paperwork. The entire process was seamless and very enjoyable. Went in for their Labor Day sale and was really impressed. Great prices and even better service. This was the third store we went to and the only store who did not have a twenty-something pushy sales person. Just the opposite. Rod helped us out, he was friendly, knowledgeable and was everything we could hope for in a salesman. He gave us options but was not pushy at all and helped us choose a VERY comfortable mattress. I had a futon, and needed a cushion for it. Found one at Mancini's for a good price, and purchased it. But when I took it out of the wrapper and placed it there was a chemical smell. I thought the smell would go away, but it is two years later and, though faint, I can still smell it. Apparently this is common for products like this made in places like China. Some of these chemicals are carcinogenic. Be careful! read more

We continued to check adjustable beds, and decided to return to Mancini's. This time it was Ron who immediately greeted us. He has a more assertive, probably better described as experienced, sales approach. Yet, took his time to show us several different mattresses, etc, walked through store with us, answered all our questions. Presented an exceptable cost & suitable bed set. Never pressured us. I asked if we could walk around & "try out" the ones he suggested, on our own, and to discuss privately, which he did. I was becoming very tired & overwhelmed with all the info & numbers, so we thanked him, told him we would return. About a week later we returned and Jake was there and in a much friendlier, helpful attitude & mood. We told him about our last visit with Ron and showed him the info & numbers. He made two more suggestions, he said try them out, he'd be there to answer questions. Overall a more pleasant meeting. We made our decision, left to wait for delivery date. The delivery crew was unbelievably fast. The service call prior to their arrival was a very much appreciated. However, we had a defect with the massage unit, which roared it's presence on about the 4th or 5th evening! Called Jake next morning, made arrangements for replacement. Again, great service call to let us know approximate time of arrival, which was nearly to the minute. The crew arrived, again, unbelievably fast. I made a joke about the noise of the motor and one service guy took it very personally and became very rude and aggressive to the point of stepping towards me with finger pointed in my face. He made an angry comment to me that I don't tell him anything about motors, he had 3 years experience. My husband stepped back into the room when he heard the change in my voice. I pointed my finger in the guy's face and told him his behavior was uncalled for & unnecessary and I would report him. Only unpleasant issue about the entire process. I'm very glad I recognized that people have bad days or whatever the reason for their seemingly unprofessional attitude, as far as Jake was concerned at our first meeting. It remains unknown to us if the aggressive delivery guy was reprimanded, suspended or fired. All I can say, he won't be allowed back into my home. Thanks Jake and Ron! read more

My husband and I just purchased a mattress set here! We had an idea of what we wanted, but the manager, Jake, was very helpful and we ended up with a different brand... Better mattress, but lower price due to a sale that he told us about. :) They offer free delivery and removal of the old mattress, or moving it to another room, in our case. We also got a free sheet set. (A competitor on N.Main St. does not have as good prices... Also, not as big of a selection as Mancini's has...) Overall, a great experience! read more

Mancini's Sleepworld is a good company who takes care of their customers. I was approved online for credit and went in to Mancini's to shop, and Jake helped me with my numerous questions. I had 18 month payment plan with no interest, (but it had to be paid off in 18 months or interest is charged), done! I was charged 50 dollars for a delivery fee. When my furniture arrived, there was only one guy who told me his helpers had called off. Luckily my boyfriend and two of his friends were here and were able to help the guy bring up all the furniture. I called Mancini and told them I should not be charged for the delivery fee. They agreed, and told me to come in and pick up two free pillows. A year went by, and I finally went in to Mancini to get my pillows and hoped they would remember me. Jake was there and he gladly gave me two (very nice, expensive) free pillows for the hassle of the delivery a year earlier. I am very pleased with the way they handled everything without a hassle. I am a lifetime customer. read more

Bought a mattress from Mancinis in Salinas and they screwed up the delivery so bad that we just ended up canceling the order. They have horrible customer service, never called us back when there was a problem with the order. When Mancinis came to deliver the mattress the sales person had screwed up the delivery. The new mattress was in and the old mattress was out by their truck when they decided there was a problem with the paperwork, so they put the old mattress back, even though they claimed that they would be back the next morning to deliver the exact same mattress again! We had already paid and they weren't disputing the payment, it was something to do with the removal of the old mattress. The manager at the store was "too busy" to handle the issue right then, so we get to reschedule to wait around the next day for another two hour window. If it was a simple paperwork issue they should have been able to just finish the delivery instead of making us reschedule for a new two hour window. They were supposed to schedule it for the next day and we never got a call back. We just ended up calling and canceling the order. read more
