    Red curry with rice

Absolutely one of the best Thai restaurants in the DC metro area. Been living here for 10+ years and it's one of my favorites. Small restaurant, inconspicuously on the side of the road. Amazing food, the BEST mango sticky rice and curry in the area and the ladies who run the place are so sweet and welcoming. 10/10

I placed a mobile order for drunken noodles with chicken (my go to Thai favorite). My order was ready upon my arrival. I was greeted right away. The restaurant was empty at the time. Getting into this lot is a bit tricky or at least it was for me since I was not familiar with this location. I had only been to the Silver Spring location. There is parking. My food was not spicy as I had requested. There are different levels and since it was my first time, I chose the almost spiciest level. It could have been hotter for me. I ended up having to add my own pepper at home! The flavors were good. the portion size was fair. I won't say it was the best Thai I've had. I would possibly give them another try, but won't go out of my way.

Thursday 1/2/2025 I came across this spot on an instagram post that was mentioning the best DMV Thai so I had to see it for myself. I made an online order through their website and got the pad see-ew (beef-mild) $14.95, pad Thai (chicken-mild) $14.95, and the mango red curry (chicken-medium) $15.95. - The pad see-ew was really good and is easily in the top 2 for best pad see-ew I've had. - The pad Thai was a new experience for me as it was my first EVER experience trying it but it was just alright (thought it would've been better). Also the chicken portions were significantly less than I expected. - The mango red curry was a dish I had HIGH expectations for but it fell flat. The "mango curry" taste and flavor were underwhelming even with the addition of the mango peices. Overall, this spot has some pretty decent Thai. The pad see-ew is THE highlight and the other 2 dishes could've been better. If you're in the area searching for Thai then this is a solid spot for your Thai cravings.

I loved this restaurant! When we entered, we were greeted by Amina who is very friendly and funny! The restaurant is comfortable and made us feel at home. Very casual. 3 of us shared the drunken noodles and Kaprow which came w a side of rice. We were pleasantly full (we didn't have food babies). The chicken drunken noodles were delicious! I loved the spice and flavor. The beef Kaprow also had a great spice level, flavor and the beef was tender. We took a chicken pad thai to go and that was delicious. The sweetness was just right. The iced Thai teas were refreshing and not too sweet! We will be back!

First time here with friends. Don't let the outside fool you, the food is delicious. The tofu was plentiful and delicious. It was mi first time trying the drunken noodles and the portions were so large I have leftovers for work the next day!

I placed an online order for pick-up. The site was very user friendly, I had no issues placing my order. When I arrived at the restaurant, the employees were super kind and greeted me right away. It was very clean inside and super cute. My food was made right away and I took it home. It was still hot. Very delicious. Highly recommend this place. I ordered the panang curry with chicken. This was my first time here and it won't be my last.

Ordered takeout. The photo shows the dish. Flavor is good to me. However, the size is too small. The dish has five shrimp, all the eggplants showing in the photo and some bamboo shoots. It's a bit over $20. I don't think it's worth the price.

Basic no frills Thai food. I didn't feel like driving to my typical spots. I appreciate that this food is Halal. Ordered Penang tofu and veggies, thia fried rice and crispy basal fish. All was flavorful. Historically they have vented the fried fish so that it does not get soggy. It was not done this time and it was not as crisp as usual. Still an enjoyable meal with enough for leftovers.

Just came here for lunch with a coworker and the place was completely empty. I think part of it was because we did come a little early (11:40am-ish), but left at 12:30pm and still no other people ate inside. There were people picking up orders or door-dash deliveries, etc. In any case, we sat down and the service was very fast and courteous. I ordered the Pad See Ewe and it arrived promptly (and super hot too!). The portions were decent and our water was filled once. It was super quiet, so not sure how the vibe is on a Friday or Saturday night. When we paid, the waitress (who I think may have been the owner?) arrived with a ipad where we simply tapped our credit cards and put in a tip. NGL, I like to tip in cash, so I preemptively took out my cash to show the waitress I was not going to forget tipping her, all the while I tapped "no tip" - even though I did tip her! Haha. Overall, a great lunch spot and I will definitely come back here. My only thing I would comment is that there are not a lot of parking spots in front of the restaurant.

Thank you for being a reliable place for me to get great food for 7 years and counting! Whenever I want some comfort food that's not complete junk food, Amina Thai is a great place to get takeaways from. I know how to cook them at home but sometimes, I just want a break. And Amina Thai is somewhere I don't mind spending extra $$$ for something I know how to fix at home. I especially love their fried rice on days like that because it's well seasoned, and the ingredients always taste fresh. I dislike fried rice elsewhere usually because of the stale tasting rice. I'm a weirdo who likes my fried rice tasting somewhat moist. We made a phone order and the order was ready when we arrived in 15 minutes. I normally dislike anything with coriander in it but if it's used as a garnish by Amina Thai, I know it is going to be great. And with a squeeze of lemon, I was a happy camper again after a long week. Other dishes I love from Amina Thai are their yum woon saen, massaman curry, pad kee mao, lad na, and kaprow fried rice. Really, anything and everything! As a side note, their parking spaces are a bit limited but it's not impossible to find nearby free parking. They also take Amex, which is great.

I noticed that some of the tables have been changed from square to rectangular, making the dining room feel more open and spacious. Each table is now decorated with a small lamp, and artwork adorns the walls--simple updates that add warmth and enliven the ambiance. Another noticeable change is the packaging for the entrée I ordered. It has been updated from a square container to a rice bowl, which I much prefer. The previous packaging reminded me of a school cafeteria, while the new presentation feels more appealing. During my last visit, they also offered lunch specials, which no longer appear to be available. That was a bit disappointing, although it may have been a promotion when they first opened. Their menu is somewhat atypical for a local Thai restaurant, with offerings such as tacos, burgers, and sandwiches. I was in the mood for my usual favorites--Pad Thai and Pad See Ew--but neither is on the menu. I ordered a Thai iced tea and the Kao Mun Gai Tod. The iced tea was good, but I would have preferred a bolder tea flavor. It seemed a bit diluted, possibly from too much ice. The chicken, however, was crispy and flavorful, and the rice was cooked perfectly--tender rather than dry or chewy. Our server was attentive throughout the meal. She checked on us regularly and promptly cleared our table, providing excellent service.

This time around, we ordered pad thai, one dish with shrimp and one with beef, crabmeat fried rice, and the khao soy noodles. We've had the Drunken noodles before and they are consistently good. The fried rice, my first time for this dish, was very good. Three large shrimp, chicken, chunks of pineapple and some veggies with a very tasty rice. Yum. One disappointment today that I think is worth mentioning. We routinely get the Tom Yum soup and it is one of my favorite things here. Today, the broth tasted like sriracha sauce. My partner agreed. The manager came over and asked how things were. I told her that I was disappointed in the soup, and asked if they had changed their recipe. I told her that we routinely get this item as a favorite, and that it normally has a complex flavor of spices and this time tastes like simple sriracha. She asked if we wanted a different soup. I told her no, that this is our favorite soup and that we get it every time and it's just disappointing this time. She said it probably had too much chili paste put into it and that she'd talk to the head chef. And that was the end of it. Never heard another word or saw her again. When the check came, the charge for the soup was still on the bill. I'm deducting a point from my 5-point scores in the past because I'm disappointed that the manager acknowledged there was a problem but still charged for the soup.
