I was staying at the Marriott and wanted to grab dinner nearby, so I decided to try Watercolour Grill House. I was happy to see they offered vegan options, which is always a plus. They started with bread, and I asked for olive oil instead of butter, which they accommodated. I ordered both the cauliflower steak and the vegan steak. The cauliflower steak seemed like it was aiming for an Indian-inspired flavor, but it missed the mark for me. The vegan steak had a good texture, but it was under-seasoned and tasted pretty plain. At around $45, I felt it was overpriced for what it was. The highlight of the evening was definitely the view and, even more importantly, the waitress. She was absolutely amazing--10 out of 10! She was attentive, friendly, and made sure I was happy with my meal throughout the evening. I'm really glad they offer vegan options--that's a great first step. We stayed at the hotel and had breakfast vouchers for Watercolour Grillhouse, but unfortunately it was one of the worst hotel breakfasts we've experienced. Service was painfully slow and the staff seemed almost nonexistent. Tables sat uncleared for long periods, creating unnecessary wait times even though people were ready to be seated. The food didn't make up for it either. My omelet was extremely dry, and the breakfast buffet was repeatedly left empty without being replenished in a timely manner. Overall, the operation felt poorly managed from both a staffing and timing perspective. With better organization and attention to guests, this experience could have been much better. So fulfilling that I had leftovers. Fresh bucatini, 4 OZ Lobster Tail, jumbo gulf shrimp & basil limone sauce is what the dish consisted of. I found the pictures deceiving. Walking into restaurant I felt I was walking into a make shift space and a bit dull/dated. The two stars are really for the bartender for being patience and answering our questions but this is expected of service right? The food was mediocre. I ordered the cast iron Brie. It was described as truffle Brie with a strawberry basil compote. It sounded delicious. Unfortunately it was lackluster from presentation to taste. I didn't get any hints of truffle or basil. It was melted Brie with soggy phyllo dough in it and four small pieces of strawberries with a little sauce in the middle. The snapper we ordered was bland. The band was getting set up when we first arrived so we ordered a glass of Malbec and a non alcoholic beverage. For dinner I opted for the seared scallops and my turned ordered the pork chop and we shared the Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were a hit with the sweet and savory taste. The pork chop was tender and juicy with lots of flavors. My scallop dish fell a little flat. I wasn't a fan of the risotto because the richness of the dish and cheese was overpowering. My wife and I left the freezing temperatures in New York for sunny Clearwater Beach. Unfortunately, the weather was less than expected, however, Watercolour Grillhouse was a ray of sunshine. The crab cake was the best I've had outside of the Inner Harbor of Baltimore. It was loaded with blue claw grab gently held together with a minimal amount of Panco Breadcrumbs. The filet mignon was equally delicious. Wet aged to perfection. They provide a steak knife but it was barely needed. Drinks were finely crafted and delicious. To close my wife order the peanut butter pie. It was light, fluffy and delicious. Finally I'd like to point out that the staff was great. This was highlighted by our server, Lori. 10/10 experience! Food was amazing - I am a big lover of steak and this ribeye was seasoned to perfection. My guest got the filet and was very impressed with hers as well. The sides that we ordered were the mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. We found that the Mac and cheese was made with tortellini which was a nice surprise. This was our first visit. The restaurant is through the lobby and is a truly beautiful venue with views of the Intracoastal Waterway. For appetizers, we ordered the Angry Mussels and the Watercolour Crabcake. Unfortunately, they were out of the mussels. The crab cake was very tasty. I would highly recommend it. For entrées, we ordered the Bone-In Ribeye and the 12oz Grouper (grilled). We both ordered fully loaded bake potatoes, too. I had wanted my ribeye cooked medium rare and it came to table well done. I had let the server know that my steak was overcooked and she told me to "cut into it more and it would be medium rare." This went back and forth for a while and she finally took it back as well as our cold baked potatoes. The manager did show up and appologized. The argumentative server came back with a properly cooked steak and hot baked potatoes. The manager also replaced the now ice-cold grouper. The manager also offered us some gratis desserts. Despite the manager making everything food-wise right, the mood of a relaxing meal with a great view was ruined. I have never had a server argue with me as to the doneness of a steak. We had 2 sushi rolls & the onion soup to start, my son had the ribeye, my husband the filet and I had the pan seared scallops. Thank you! We selected this restaurant for our wedding anniversary dinner while visiting Clearwater Beach. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel so special, they gave us a table by the window and when we said we were cold actually adjusted the A/C. Our waiter Tyler was amazing, he knew just when to ask questions and when to leave us to our conversation. The food was soooo good as were our drinks. We ordered the Mango drink with tequila. So good!!! For dinner we had grilled and blackened salmon, both cooked to perfection. Their sides are of a good size to share so we ordered Garlic Mashed, Grilled Asparagus and Risotto which was a big hit for us. The whole dinner felt like we were in our private dining experience simply because of where they sat us and the kind of service we received. We opted to sit inside but could have sat outside too. The experience upon arriving and just trying to park should've been a clear indication that this was not the right location for fine dining. To park, you have have to pay with your card through this website and the website doesn't let you know whether the transaction is complete or not, so you struggle to pay to park only to realize all five transactions have gone through and you've paid five times to park. Roughly about $50. Then, we get inside and we're seated at a table where the gnats are so abundant they're just circling our heads the entire time we're eating. The waitress is nowhere to be found throughout the dinner to the point where she fails to take our dinner order, only takes our appetizer order, disappears, and we're finally able to put in our dinner order after we ate our apps and waited some more. The food comes out that we ordered, not as we ordered it. The fillet one of us ordered it cooked medium the other medium rare. It doesn't matter, they're all cooked at the same temp. We didn't complain, we sat there and ate it, but apparently our expression when she asked how the food was clearly communicated that we were unhappy, and so she insisted on knowing why we were unhappy, and we told her and so she asked us to cut our steak down the middle so she could see it and then proceeded to tell us that that's the way medium and medium rare are cooked. The food was subpar at best. Clearly you can see from the receipt that this isn't Chili's or Applebee's. They're charging a good amount of money for these plates. The pretzel crusted rack of lamb was atrocious. The macaroni and cheese has absolutely no flavor. I don't know how they accomplished that because their is cheese on it, but it literally has no flavor. If you were seeking a fine dining experience to celebrate your daughter's fifth grade accomplishments this is not the place to go to. Decided to try this restaurant for dinner since I was staying at the Marriott and after along day at the beach; it was just so convenient to go downstairs for dinner. We got seated quickly although we had no reservations, the entire staff was so helpful. Our waiter was so helpful, she went over all the specials and was extremely helpful whenever I wasn't sure about a certain dish. We were staying at the hotel (highly recommend) and had dinner here one of the nights. We absolutely loved everything we ordered. Our server was so friendly and tentative to us during our whole meal. We started with a sweet potato puree and pesto cauliflower. Both were full of flavor, warm, and unique in their own. I ordered the steak for dinner and my wife got the wedge salad. The steak was sizzling hot when it was brought out to us and the mashed potatoes went with it so perfectly. We heard the breakfast here is incredible too and to get the waffle. We didn't get to stop by but our friends who have stayed here highly recommend. Nice view. Easy to get in if you are eating outside. Food good. Service good. Scallops were great. Steak is great but comes with NO sides. You have to pay extra for any side and they are all "shareable" sides so a lot of food and expensive for an add on to the filet. They do have port and the deserts are huge so plan to share. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is the NO side with the filet. You get a huge plate with a filet and that is it! read more

We stopped in this restaurant out of convenience because we were across the street. It turned out to be a great find. They are known for their steaks but we decided to try a few other menu items. My wife and I shared the ribeye and we still couldn't finish it. It was DELICIOUS!! The crab cakes were very good and the shrimp was huge and perfect! I had no room left after the huge meal which included charcuterie (shared by four people) but we decided to share the bread pudding.
