I called to schedule an appointment and I was very adamant that I wanted "funky color" peekaboo highlights (a non-natural purple color) and the woman on the phone recommended the "perfect person" to do it because she does "wild colors" all the time. Unfortunately she had no openings for almost a week but I figured that would be just fine since it would be on the last day of our vacation. When I got there, I told her exactly what I wanted and she showed me the only purple color they have and I told her that I'm nervous it would be too dark and not show up and she said it would show up just fine because she was going to lighten my hair first. So as I'm sitting there for 10 minutes (alone wondering where everyone went) she finally comes back and says "Unfortunately we have EVERY single color EXCEPT this one! If you want I can reschedule you for Sunday or Monday..." I explained to her that I was going home (almost 3 hours away) and wouldn't be around for Sunday or Monday, but I was open to switching colors because I really liked the bright pink that she showed me. After I told her I was willing to switch colors she says "Well let me go check again to see if we have the purple...." After about 5 minutes she comes back and says "Good news! I found the color but it's in 'dem-permanent' if that's okay" I know the differences between temporary, semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent colors so this was not a subject that could fool me at all. So I told her that the demi-permanent would work just fine. So she puts in the lightner, lets it process, and then when it comes time to wash it out she only washed the the hair that the foils were in, leaving the rest wet... this was different than what I was used to however I figured it was just a clever little trick of the trade so that she only had to dry that one part instead of all my hair. Well I was wrong... because it's not that she was being clever but she was just being lazy... while my hair was still soaking wet in the sink she begins putting the "demi-permanent color" on. Well... let me just say that if you put any 'permanent color' on DAMP hair for half the amount of time, it becomes 'demi-permanent' instead of permanent... this leads me to believe that she lied and had the color but didn't want to take the time to blowdry my hair and was just trying to rush me out. So as my hair is "processing", I'm still sitting there with my head in the sink for about 15 minutes. She comes over, rinses out the color and after looking at my hair she says "that's so weird, the color didn't take... I have no idea why, there's no reason it shouldn't have" It was probably because she put it on while my hair was soaking wet and she was trying to do a half-ass job. So then she begins to dry my hair (using a blowdryer and her HANDS not even using a hairbrush) and the phone rings. So she answers the phone and shes apologizing to the person on the other line saying that she got "stuck with a client" and shes going to be late and shes so so so sorry.... talk about unprofessional. Once my hair is dry she applies the color again and lets it process for about 15 minutes and then she once again washes only that part of my head (no place I have gone has ever just washed part of my head... even if just one part is colored... she just didn't want to have to blowdry it all.) After she washes it, she blowdrys it (again using her hand for most of it and then a brush just for the hair that frames my face). After all is said and done, I look at my hair and I see absolutely NO PURPLE at all! My hair just looked black. This was exactly what I was worried about and she told me that it wouldn't happen. So then as I'm going through it trying to find the highlights, she tells me "it only looks dark now because it just new, but after a couple washes, you'll see the purple REALLY pop!" So I took her word for it and paid the dreadful $130!!! Then a week later (after only 2 washes) all you see in my hair is offcolor oranges and browns. YES I use color protect shampoo and conditioner that I bought at a salon. I called to tell the manager what happened and asked that I would like this to be fixed, even if it means just coloring all my hair black. The manager said "I'll give you a call back in a little bit".... well it's been 2 days and they still haven't called me back. This is by far the most unprofessional salon I have ever been to! read more
