We had take-out. The food was tasty. The food price was pretty in step with other local kosher Chinese places. I liked that they offer combination plates all the time and not just lunch. We had two soups, two egg rolls, and four entrees. I was disappointed that there was no soy sauce, duck sauce, or mustard. They did include forks (no spoons) and napkins. We were also disappointed that it didn't come with any fortune cookies. There were four entrees so maybe four cookies would have been nice. In addition, there was also an issue with delivery, but that was not the restaurant's fault. It is just something to keep in mind if you're looking for delivery. The food at Mandarin was really, really good. The problem is actually getting the food. The claim they open every day at 12:00. I've ordered pick-up from them online numerous times, only to be told when I got there (at about 12:30) that the chef hadn't arrived yet. Apparently he has a long commute, all the way from Queens. Well, if you have a job, make sure to get there on time! As a customer, I don't care how long your commute is. You have a time to be there, make sure you make that time! The employees also don't have access to the online system. So when I get there and my food hasn't even been started on yet, I can't get a refund when I cancel until much later in the day, when the manager comes in. It's really too bad. The one time I actually was able to get food, it was really good. I just wish they actually kept to the times they advertise. read more

Iv'e been going for years, mostly had good experiences, they serve very good Steak. Just changed ownership, and I hear they don't serve Steak anymore, i hope they change their mind, there's no steakhouse like Mandarin in Monsey, if they no longer serve steak, they lost me as a customer. read more

I ordered -chicken soup which was ok would give it 5/10 -vegetable egg rolls which tasted like it was reheated from the freezer 0/10 -chicken tacos was alright 5/10 But the sesame chicken was good 10/10 And beef lo main 10/10 But the thing is not worth any penny that I spent. Horrid service. Made reservations on line for 2 for 7 PM. I arrive just before 7 to be told the on line reservations don't work. I showed them the confirming email and they simply shrugged their shoulders. Barely a sorry. They offered no solution like maybe a later time. Just "too bad". How do they stay in business? TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! This place is a mess! Their staff obviously doesn't want to work! We asked to be seated as a 7 person party and they simply laughed in our faces and joked about having to put the tables together! There were 4 tables empty! We walked out, disgusted and will never set foot there again. They lost our business and we will surely advise our friends not to approach that place! Had an excellent meal at this place last night! We had beef fried wontons as an appetizer, I had the boneless rib eye with cabernet reduction sauce, and my wife had the chicken in garlic sauce. Everything was delicious and exceeded my expectations. One or two notes, it would be cool if the lights didn't turn off and an ominous voice didn't start counting down to 0 when you sit down. Also a disco ball started flashing. Ok. It also took the waiters a very long time to get around to us, and some other people in the restaurant seemed to wait a long time for their food. Very good food. Horrific service. We were one of two tables there for an early dinner at 6pm, and started by ordering appetizers. We ordered. They came back 3 times to tell us that each order was not available. Until we finally got an appetizer they had - it took half an hour. Also, despite our request, they served the appetizers and the mains at the same time. We had explicitly asked them not to do that. To make matters worse, after we finished our mains, they told us we had to leave in 10 minutes since someone had made a reservation and they needed our table. Want their food? I went out on a date night with my husband and enjoyed it very much! I had made reservations and got the booth as soon as I arrived. Took the poopoo platter (not sure the spelling) which was amazing!! The food is great, attentive waitress although there's only one so I guess if it's full that would make it hard for her to juggle. She was super nice and they offer free refills and not only didn't she complain but she kept offering to refill! I'm duly impressed. Price is great too! read more

Went last night. Service, excellent, (our waitress was a sweetheart!) Food served quickly and efficiently....Ambiance, perfect; dimly lit, beautiful decor, tables not too close together and, get this, tables AND booths! What a treat! But my favorite part was the food. Wow! They nailed every dish we tried both from the American and Chinese menus. My personal favorite was the 3 mushroom beef dish; delicious and worth a trip from anywhere! This place is terrible. Way overpriced and the staff if terrible. The "owner" is this a-hole named Mordy who has a lousy staff and a terrible way if doing business. Being a long time customer I've seen this place go through it's fair share of changes and owners. In that time I have always ordered consistently the same dish, which I have now been told they no longer offer on the menu. After being transferred to this disrespectful, class-less individual named Mordy who claims to be the owner of the resteraunt he proceeds to tell me that he will "custom" make the dish for me (keep in mind this custom dish came out to 20 dollars). After waiting 15 min for my dish to be ready I drive back home and much to my surprise the dish is very incorrect and nothing like what I've ordered 50 plus times. After calling in to see if they will fix their mistake I once again am transferred to this jerk named Mordy. He then insulted me saying "you don't know what you ordered" and even went as far as saying that he doesn't wanna take "the loss" on the dish, (remember this dish cost me 20 dollars) what a joke the food is already way overpriced. I offered to return the food to which he denied and said "once you leave the store I can't help you" worse then a used car salesman. To end off this shameless individual Mordy refused to correct his mistake or refund me my money and stated he would refund me half the dish in the name of customer service. hilariously funny that's what the owner of a resteraunt considers customer service.
