While I'm in New York I try to find Italian restaurants. I found this hidden gem that blew my mind with the amount of food and the quality. My friend and I ordered a three course meal and every dish was freshly made extremely savory with each bite. We enjoyed our meal out side, nice little set up. Nice place. Upon searching the area for a nice place to dine in, came across this one and it looked good enough to try. Glad I did. The online menu (that I saw) differs slightly from the in house menu, so keep that in mind. From the days leading up to coming here until I finally was looking at the menu live, I simply couldn't decide what I wanted - steak or lobster. I had settled on the 'Land & Sea', which had both, before I got here. Once here, they didn't offer that on the menu - but they were gracious enough to offer to put a tail on the fillet mignon for a slight extra cost, so I got what I wanted in the end. Needless to say, everything tasted great and the mignon was generously portioned and cooked the way I wanted. The tail was a good size and plump. I also ordered the French onion soup as an app and it was done right. Perfect actually. For dessert - it was difficult to settle on just one thing, but tried the cronut, which was divine. The staff here was excellent. Literally everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the bus boy were friendly as can be, even though the place was crowded and busy. That is always a great sign. It's strongly recommended you make a reservation on a Friday/Saturday evening. I went on a Friday and I had made a reservation and I was so thankful I did. It was very crowded coming here and when I came inside, I saw a line and every table was occupied except the one I made a reservation on. The place is small and there is limited parking. When I Google Earthed the area, I figured I should be able to easily find a spot, but the area was crowded and there were no spots - either on the grounds (which shares the space with other businesses) or even on the grounds next door. Nothing in the street. I was lucky on my third rotation that someone in a strange spot in the street was pulling out. So arrive earlier and expect to look for parking on a busy night. All in all, a great place and option. They have more than enough menu choices to satisfy most and everything was delicious and made right. Again, everyone was welcoming and friendly, which makes the entire experience that much more. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting good food and a great dining experience. read more

Came last night to celebrate my mother's birthday. We were greeted immediately and sat right down. Our waitress was awesome! She was attentive and friendly, offered great suggestions, and made my mom feel special. We ordered off of their price-fix menu that runs Monday through Thursday for $30 you get an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert & coffee. She said that the eggplant rollatini and shrimp risotto were the two most popular starters so that's what Mom and I got. My mom enjoyed the eggplant, it came with two rolls. The shrimp risotto was creamy and tasty but I did feel that I needed to add my own salt and pepper. After your appetizer is when they bring a house salad that consisted of mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, and radishes. For the main entrée my mother chose the New York strip steak which came with mashed potatoes and vegetable of the night which was snap peas. My mom does not like things spicy so she got the sauce that comes on the steak on the side. Overall my mom was dissatisfied with the steak as she thought it would be softer to chew but the flavor was delicious. I ordered the sole which came with snap peas and rice. The fish was delicious flaky flavorful with a nice crunchy topping. The rice was nothing to rave about, but it's rice... Yellow rice with some bits of peas and carrots. For dessert my mother ordered the tiramisu and I had the New York cheesecake with strawberry drizzle. It was very nice that they put a candle in my mothers dessert and everyone in the whole restaurant sang happy birthday. It should be noted that the restaurant is small and was packed the entire night! You must make a reservation if you're looking to come mid week for the price fix menu... Make note this was on a night where it was pouring rain and there still were no available tables for walk-ins. read more

This was our first time going there. The atmosphere was laid back. The staff very attentive! We were celebrating my mom's birthday. Sge had mentioned an item she ordered was salty. She doesn't cook with salt but the waiter had no problem taking it back so the chef can remake it to her liking! She had said he did not have to but the waiter insisted he wanted her to enjoy it. We had our daughters bridal shower here. The hostess Loreinnie was exceptional throughout the planning and during the event. The food was delicious and plentiful. I guess I can call this a follow visit. I was here two years ago. What an improvement! The stuffed artichoke was absolutely delicious! The alaskan cod and it just as good as the stuffed artichoke dish. Mom had the chicken parmesan and the chicken she felt that the chicken could have been cooked a little her her liking. It was years since our last visit. Place was nicely redecorated and expanded. Quite elegant. We had the forty dollar prix fix deal. Many excellent choices were offered. We ordered the crab cake and mussels marinara to start Super delicious. Then I had the lamb chops and wife had the blackjack steak with sautéed spinach. These entrees were preceded by excellent salads (served on cold plates). Dessert with coffee was included (cheesecake and rice pudding). Everything was 5 stars. Also the service was just perfect. I had dinner plans with the girls and they were quite familiar with this restaurant but I wasn't. From the start, the wine, the bread and the butter was all delicious. Then came the appetizers we shared everything. We got a Barata, scallops and lobster ravioli holy moly yum, I could've eaten that and would've been quite happy and delightfully satisfied!! Believe it or not we also ordered entrées. We ordered the "Michael's on Main steak", we had to share that cause it was BIGGGG!! Our other friend ordered a chicken dish, I couldn't tell you which one, I was too preoccupied with the big piece of meat in front of me. I couldn't finish it so I had to take it home and I ended up having three meals out of it!!! I can't wait to go back again and again and again... it's pretty pricey but well worth it!!! read more

The food is actually pretty solid (the main course was sadly the most disappointing part) but you honestly can't beat the early bird dinner special, seriously. The chicken parm didn't have that crispy texture that I love and the pasta was too watery, but the bruschetta and the calamari was nice. The most frustrating part of the meal was waiting for a table. We waited over an hour for a party of four, and the whole time there was a table for six open. No one sat there till the party of four after us was given the table. Had dinner with boyfriend and company at Michael's On Main in October, 2021. The owner (a new owner to the establishment since just before covid) made excuses for her friend and hostess' behavior after she groped my boyfriend during dinner then whispered "Bitch" to me when I went to use restroom. I don't k ow this woman. Where did this woman come from?! Needless to say, dinner began as a pleasant experience and abruptly went sour. Keep your man close and away from their hostess, owner's friend. It is unacceptable to disregard such employee conduct and make excuses for her behavior and inability to control her personal vendettas. My boyfriend was a regular at Michael's On Main, it's where I would ask him to take me when he wanted to take me out. He revisited once with the guys but did not enjoy it. He found it distasteful-no pun intended. Now we give our business to their former chef who, since, owns his own restaurant, outstanding on all levels. read more

We stayed in Nanuet over the weekend and we're searching for a restaurant. I always turn to yelp and it never disappoints. We found Michael's on Main to be a gem. Nice ambiance and not too loud, just the way we like it. The service was top notch and everyone was so friendly. We started with the Thai calamari and shrimp which was out of this world delicious. Then we had the short rib egg rolls also very good. For our entree we went with the special Angry lobster tail over linguine, so delicious. Next time we're in Nanuet we plan on going back. read more
