    Sze Chuan String Beans

Worked up an appetite from swim lessons this afternoon and had a hunkering for those addicting Szechuan String Beans. I scooped up my girlfriend and popped in for lunch. We were seated at a booth. Didn't even need to glance at the menu. I just hit repeat on my solid favorites: Crab Rangoon, Mushu Pork and Szechuan String Beans. Our attentive and friendly server Justin, made sure to bring our waters and sauces before food arrived. Major bonuses points for that. He was also kind enough to bring out chopsticks. Crab Rangoons were served within 5 minutes and seemed on the larger side today. Not complaining just observant. Love the dipping sauce that accompanied it. Szechuan String Beans were on point per usual. I can honestly just eat the whole plate of those solo if they weren't so greasy. Mushu Pork was good, I didn't really care for the pancakes to wrap today so I just gobbled it up with steam rice. Surprisingly, we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Which was nice. My girlfriend pointed out how spacious it is and is considering hosting her mother in-laws birthday here in the future.

Our family has made Christmas Eve dinner at Mandarin House a tradition for 20 years, but this is the last. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed -- from the very unhelpful hostess to the frazzled servers to the weak mai tais to the super bland food. Don't know yet where we'll end up next year for Christmas Eve, but we'll be starting a new tradition somewhere else.

Sad Salt & Pepper Chicken this time

Note to self: love the hot & sour soup, pass on the Singapore style curry noodles, and bummed this time the salt & pepper chicken was mostly just crumbs and hard to chew. Last time, the chicken was tender and delicious.

A blast from the past. Love the decor. Service was great, food was very good. There was a charming detail that I will share in photos. They took a stainless steel wok and made it into a sink in the restroom. The faucet is a pot filler. I love the whimsy. Somebody was thinking!

Everything was delicious! The orange chicken was great! The service was fast and friendly. The place was crowded. It's expected when you have great Chinese food! Some of my pictures didn't come out the best but here are a few.

Ordered takeout. The beef didn't taste right and tasted old. Shame on them. Used to be much better.

Best hot and sour soup ever and my favorite waitress of all time. The orange chicken was good but the crab wontons were great

Do they properly prepare their Peking Duck?

    Do they use MSG?

Yes. You can ask for no MSG when ordering.

Does this place offer garlic fried rice?

I don't believe so, to the best of my knowledge they only offer fried rice with no specific options. Although given who they are, they might take your specific request? 🤔🤨

If they are open again, is their phone the same? I've been trying to make a reservation but the phone just rings - many different times of the days, times of week. What's up?…

I've been wondering that too. Their web page said something about Nov 1 but I don't get any answer on the phone either. I live near by so I'll go and take a look tomorrow.… Read more

They have a big varieties of Chinese foods including braised pork belly and roasted duck which are my favorites, they also have sweet sour pork and honey shrimps for more American Asian customers. We ordered the food and drinks with the cashier, and they were helpful with suggestions. Note that they don't do smoothies here anymore. I was really looking forward to a green smoothie. You then take a number and find a seat. There's plenty of seating in the deck or in the indoor section, which felt vibrant and felt like eating in someone's dining room inside of their house. It was lovely. Though the tables weren't cleaned as often it seemed. Outside of ordering and the food being taken to your table, there's no other service. Ordered the ahi plate and the jr boy. The jr boy is perfect for anyone who wants a combo of sweet and savory options. Both orders were delicious! Only thing I noticed was that the salad that came with the ahi had a few browning greens I had to remove. The ahi itself didn't taste fishy, but fresh and cooked very well. The sauce was citrusy and savory and added to the flavor of the meal. The portions were just right. I wasn't immensely full but I felt satisfied. The drinks were also good. The macadamia coffee was good and the dragonfruit matcha was pretty and also tasted great and on the sweet side. I'd come back here again for drinks, brunch/lunch, and overall chill vibes.

The food selection is vast so it's easy for anyone to find at least a few items they like. My personal favorites were the cream cheese wontons, fried rice and the coconut shrimp. I tried a few things that I didn't particularly like but that's the beauty of a buffet, I don't need to eat more of/commit to food I don't like! The food was all pretty fresh looking to keep up with the fast pace crowds hitting the buffet lines. The dessert selection was great and they have a very fun chocolate fountain, the chocolate in it is actually really good too and not that weird waxy chocolate you get in fountains sometimes. I will note that the ice cream bin doesn't seem very sanitary with so many people reusing the same scoop over and over. Another thing I didn't enjoy was the cream puffs, I'm not sure if I got a bad one or if they all tasted like this but mine seriously tasted like spoiled milk. Everyone that we interacted with was pleasant from the hostess, to our server and the person who checked us out. Our server was also pretty good about keeping our waters filled. Overall a very enjoyable experience! I look forward to coming back again soon.

I saw people lined up in one area so I went up to see what they were waiting for... and I receive the coldest looks ever as if I wanted to cut in front... Definitely Not my cup tea type of restaurant when the people are ready to fight for food even though it's BUFFET and there is plenty of food. Also the food is mediocre at best. I make my own fried rice and crab ragoons at home and mine are way better. The only selling point of this place is that it is AYCE, but I'd take a Golden Corral any day over this place.
