came here with my son and his friends after school. They have a great menu selection , we ordered Salmon Bite Rice, Seafood Udon , Bulgogi Udon, Spicy Chicken Rice, and Bulgogi Japache. Everything came out fast and hot. I had the Seafood Udon, which I enjoyed eating. It had a nice Noodle texture and a Good portion of seafood. Overall, it tasted good. No bad comments from the kiddos they all like it. Staff are friendly and the place is clean . Parking space has a lot too.
Similar concept to Pepper Lunch, Voqozo has sizzling plates with different carbs and proteins. They don't have as many options but I think their portions are generous and there are options for double protein too. Once seated, you order everything through a QC code on the table, through Toast. Food comes out pretty quick since the kitchen doesn't need to cook anything. But because everything is sizzling in the main dining area, it can get a bit stuffy. I ordered the Sliced Beef Steak Rice with cabbage mix and although it's a bit pricey for a meal, the portions were pretty large. I wasn't able to finish the whole thing in one sitting. There was a good meat to rice ratio but there could have been more vegetables. Meat was tender and if you need more flavoring, there are bottles of Sweet and Sour Teriyaki Sauce and Spicy Gochujang Sauce. Pro-tip: spread the rice flat and cover as much of the hot surface of the sizzling plate. Let it sit for a bit to get a delicious, crunchy crust on your rice. We also ordered the French Fries w/ Kimchi Seasoning. Save the dollar and just get the normal fries because I couldn't really taste the Kimchi flavor. The fries themselves were crispy though. Overall, a good meal and a fun experience if you like to cook things yourself. In my opinion, it's not as good as Pepper Lunch flavor-wise but there are some unique things I'd be interested in trying (i.e. Jajang Rice).
Decently sized casual restaurant with plenty of booths and tables. Service was great and food came out sizzling Bulgogi udon was as expected, sweet and slightly savory with chewy udon noodle sprinkled with green onions & peas on top. Overall flavor and presentation were, decent but nothing with a wow factor - satisfied my cravings!
My husband works in the area, so he's been here a few times already - he ordered the Jeyuk bowl - tasty! It has good flavor, pork was tender, it comes with rice and kimchi. The spicy chicken udon is good, noodles were cooked perfectly - not too chewy. I like the little char flavor on the chicken. There's a bottle of gochujang sauce at the table, if you want more spice. Our food did come out quickly, but service is lacking tonight. The manager working was not at his best it seems, he was in a mood since taking our order. It's 8pm - 2 hours before closing and he's in such a rush to clean and block half the restaurant off, more customers came in after us so where was everyone going to sit if they dined in? My husband was still polite and thanked him when our food was brought out - no response, he said service is good during lunch, so maybe it'll be better next time around.
Sad this place is closed now. The space was large and parking was easy. Staff were helpful and it was relatively quick to be served. The food was tasty, we would have definitely come back to try more /:

Possibly my newest favorite place to fast grub near UTC. There's a place up in NorCal that I missed so much since moving to SD that would sell sizzling plates. Voqozo took the concept and made it original, made it their own, and definitely made it delicious. The portion is sure worth the price (average priced) and the service is great. Ordering is done on your phone or at the counter, super simple. It's especially great for a dine and go when you have busy schedules but still a homey and friendly place to sit and dine with friends and family. The restaurant is very clean and generally just all positive things when it comes to Voqozo. I'll definitely be coming back. The food here is fantastic, especially if you're into bold, comforting Korean flavors with a twist. My favorite was the spicy chicken rice bowl. It comes out in a dramatic dome of rice over a bed of sautéed chicken and vegetables, served in a sizzling stone bowl. I like this place. It's a fast casual Korean hot plate spot (think bibimbap but hot stone plate instead). I usually get the slice beef with rice in cabbage mix. I'll ask for a side of sesame oil and salt. It's a pretty good and quick meal. The kimchi seasoning fries are also good. One thing I wish they had was more sides/appetizers (eg wings, salad etc) as sometimes I find the plate isn't enough to satisfy me.

My mom and I shared the double jeyu (spicy spork) that came with a small bowl of rice. It came sizzling hot and smells delicious. The taste did not disappoint either. Last time I visited this spot there was a fried chicken place here. Originally I remember a Fins taco place here. Maybe Voqozo will have better luck. Staff was nice and encouraged me to use the online ordering system. I ordered the bulgogi with japchae. Rice noodles had a snap to them and a nice mild flavor which went well with the salty bulgogi. Bulgogi was tender and had tons of salty soy sauce flavor. Pretty good dish. My favorite bulgogi is the marinated bulgogi from Zion which I grill over charcoal on my Weber Smokey Joe. Voqozo's version needs a bit less salty flavor and more of the smoky component. Voqozo is nicely decorated but I'm not a fan of the hardwood benches. I like my seating more cushioned. Staff was very nice and got my meal out quickly.
Really sad this place is closed. Came here for a weekday lunch with some coworkers. The service was decent. Our food came quickly and relatively together. The inside was large but there weren't many customers. There were plenty of seats for us. I got the sizzling steak bowl and really enjoyed it. read more

Found this place by chance since I was in the area. The service was excellent and they were very informative. It was very clean inside and loved the art on the walls. We got soju and the bulgogi rice bowl which had lots of flavor and the pot it comes in keeps it sizzling too. My husband got the udon and he truly enjoyed and we would come again. read more
Ordered the bulgogi rice, which was delicious and served very hot. The meat was delicious and well cooked. Can customize the rice topping between cabbage or kimchi. Another sizzling place popped up. Reminding me of what I've been chasing in SD, Pepper Lunch. I didn't have super high hopes because I saw the easily identifiable frozen peas, carrots, corn combo in everyone's photos. But, I wanted it to be good. Ordered the bulgolgi udon. My friend ordered the same but requested no green onions. Mine came out pretty quickly and was sizzling and had a nice char. Flavor was good, but portion felt small for the price. However, my friend's dish seemed to be missing the sauce. I think they forgot in the midst of making sure there were no green onions. She ended up adding her own sauce from the table. Ordering can be done at the table through the QR code which is super convenient, however paying still requires a server. Would be much better to be able to pay online and separately too. It was nice to try but I probably wouldn't come again. read more

This spot replaced crispy chicken & tomato. I had it on my list to try since I enjoy foods similar to pepper lunch and it looked delicious. We tried the jeyuk rice, beef jjajang rice, and bulgogi japchae. Portions were good sizes and we liked everything we ordered! The jeyuk rice is a little spicy but as someone who can usually only handle mild/medium spicy food, I was okay with it. Personally not sure I'd go out of my way to come again but I would if I were in the area! It's spacious with plenty of seating inside and it wasn't busy on a Tuesday night at 6:30pm. There's parking available in the lot with plenty of other restaurants and shops nearby. read more

It has been tough to keep track of the number of businesses that have rotated through this set of suites in the La Jolla Village Square. I think almost all five spaces have turned over within the last few years. In particular, there had been a couple of Korean fried chicken vendors that did not last long at one address before Voqozo recently opened. The concept is Korean sizzling plates which seems to be trendy as a similar place debuted in the Convoy District but with more of an Asian fusion theme to their plates. The dining area was clean with a modern feel. Somewhere around 50 customers could be seated which included a few tables outside on the front sidewalk. The workers were all pleasant and welcoming. I even had a nice discussion with the manager on duty about the previous businesses that operated out of this location. It has been a tumultuous history with now the same owners as the poke shop next door. Ordering was done by scanning a QR code that was at each table. Currently, you can only create an order but not close out the tab online. Larger photos of the menu items could be viewed on the screens that were hanging behind the service counter. Approximately twenty types of sizzling rice and noodle plates were available with different proteins that could be added in single or double servings. My pick was the Seafood Japchae which was a base of glass noodles with veggies, shrimp, squid, and mussels. Within several minutes, a hot cast iron skillet was brought to my table with the ingredients still sizzling. The flavor of the mix was mild, however the size of each piece of seafood was tiny. For almost $20, I expected larger shrimp and squid to be used like what I would receive from a Chinese takeout spot when ordering Seafood Lo Mein. It wasn't clear from the photos that all of the seafood was going to be this small. read more

Went in at around 8PM on a Friday and there was no wait, which was nice. You place your order through a QR code on a table which is super convenient. We ordered the Jeyuk rice and beef jajang rice. Both were pretty good. Highly recommend the jeyuk if you like spicy. I wish they added more meat, especially on the beef jajang though considering how much rice there is. But you do have the option to pay more for extra meat. They bring you a little cup of water but don't leave a jug to refill like other Korean restaurants do so it can get a little annoying trying to flag a waiter for water refill. read more

Really enjoyed voqozo as a new restaurant in the UTC area. The food was really good and they bring it out as it is ready. The jeyuk spicy pork bowl had good flavor and a really good bite when getting all the flavors. The rice and egg bowls are packed with food for a very filling meal. The fries were okay but it was just a side. I look forward to trying some other options! read more

Sooooo good! We have a few places like this in the Bay Area and I've been searching everywhere for it! Please stay open. 10/10 beef bulgogi. 8/10 for the beef steak. (Meat was chewy) Service is so fast! The ambience is chill. Not very busy, which I like but honestly so good! read more

The chicken mayo rice was kind of tasteless... we had to add lots of gochujang sauce to it but it didn't change much. Bulgogi however was super yummy! I went there around dinner time, and even though it was crowded, ordering was easy using a QR code as soon as I walked in. The system was quick and efficient, so I didn't have to wait long to place my order. The food came out quickly, hot, and fresh. We ordered the Seafood Rice, Bulgogi Rice, and Jeyuk Rice. I thought the portion sizes were just right, but my husband felt it would be better to have a bit more rice, just in case. All the dishes were flavorful and satisfying. I had the opportunity to try out Voqozo about a week or so ago, and I had an excellent time! I ordered the jeyuk rice, which came with corn, peas, rice, carrots, and kimchi (which I chose to add on). The dish came out on a hot plate, and it came out sizzling! We were encouraged to mix the dish right away, which I did as soon as I snapped a photo. The jeyuk rice was SO delicious. The pork was so perfectly marinated, and its sauce was sufficient to flavor the entire dish. It was not at all too spicy, and it had a nice tiny hint of sweetness. The kimchi also contrasted the jeyuk and rice so perfectly. Overall, I had such a great time at Voqozo. The service was great, and our server was so friendly. I came here during lunch and got the teriyaki chicken udon. If dining in, you scan the QR code for the menu and place your order that way. The food came out fast. However, the corn, peas, and carrots seemed to be frozen vegetables that were placed on top. I know you're supposed to mix everything on the sizzling platter but the veggies were cold. The udon was chewy and not over cooked. The chicken was ok. It seems like they throw on teriyaki sauce on with no seasoning. Compared to other places like this type, I would say that the price point doesn't match the quality. read more

Came in for a Saturday lunch and sat ourselves down and ordered using the table's QR code. I love sizzling rice so I was excited to try this place. I got the beef steak sizzling rice, but the beef was unfortunately super salty and didn't have much of a soy or pepper flavor. I wish the sauce or salt would've been on the side so I could adjust to my liking. The plate also didn't include any other veggies, except the cabbage mix I chose which was unexpectedly spicy. We came around 12:15 pm on a Saturday and there was plenty of parking and seating. The space is pretty large, modern and had lots of tables and played kpop mvs hehe. We sat ourselves and ordered via the QR code on our table but you can also order at the front. I ordered the beef steak sizzling rice and my mom ordered the teriyaki chicken sizzling udon. Portions were large and came with a lot of meat but I was sadly disappointed with the taste. The steak was really salty yet had no flavor and the cabbage mix that came with it was sour and a bit spicy. I had to add some teriyaki sauce and it was a bit better since the sweet sauce took away from the saltiness. The teriyaki chicken was okay but the udon noodles were drenched in sauce and also salty. We brought our Son and his friends here at VOQOZO in LA JOLLA. This spot is very familiar to me, I used to bring my Son here for 2 different Fried Chicken that used to occupy this space before VOQOZO It was easy for the teens to order what they wanted 'coz they have photos on of their food on the wall. We ordered: * BULGOGI (Marinated beef) JAPACHE *SEAFOOD UDON *BULGOGI (Marinated beef) UDON *SALMON BITE RICE *SPICY CHICKEN RICE All our order came in sizzling. I asked the teens that before they started eating with their utensils that they give me a scoop of their order so I can taste how the food is here, so far they were all good and tasty. My Favorite was my husband's order, the SEAFOOD UDON. It's very flavorful and had big fat shrimps on it! But I'm not much of a fan of what I ordered, it was good but the BULGOGI on my noodle were cut so tiny. I could barely scoop them with my noodles 'coz they were cut so tiny, I thought they were ground beef. But it was good anyways. After finding this place my Son's friend goes here often now too 'coz it's close to UCSD. Parking is easy to find, there's plenty around. The staff are so nice, especially our server. Loved the concept for this place so I had to try it. I got the Bulgogi Udon and my guy got the Bulgogi Japchae. We both liked the noodles, but the bulgogi pieces were hit or miss on flavors. The biggest issues with this place is the price is high for what you get and the lack of veggies in the dish. It caused the flavors to become monotonous after a while. I don't like it when my food gets boring so I won't be coming back here unfortunately. read more

Ordering seems pretty easy as you can order and pay your tab from the QR code from the table. The portions itself are pretty generous and everything was super delicious! My only complaint was there were a lot of flies in the restaurant because they left the front door open and my girlfriends were killing flies all night. Delicious bulgogi rice bowl. Service was super fast and friendly. My meal was ready in just under 10 minutes. A great stop if you want to eat something quick but feel like you're getting sit down restaurant quality. read more
I got the beef jajang rice and it definitely is a good amount of rice. Wish there was a bit more beef. I will say the flavor is not bad but it almost needs the sauces at the tables (spicy gochujang sauce and sweet & sour teriyaki sauce) which are great tasting sauces! The food was amazing, the chicken mayo rice had so much going on but all of its flavors complimented one another, definitely worth its price as well with such a large portion. The bulgogi udon was also great with a rice flavor and perfectly cooked meat. The food also came very quickly so there was great service as well. The restaurant is also very cozy with calming music and a nice interior.The only thing that put me off were the fries they taste just like mcdonalds but other than that it's amazing. 4.3/5 read more
KOREAN SIZZLING PLATE (4.7 stars) - FOOD: yums - PRICE: fair - SERVICE: excellent and attentive - AMBIANCE: I never been to South Korea but I imagine this is what a South Korean restaurant could be... clean and K-pop videos on the tv screens?! BULGOGI RICE ($18.95) - thinly sliced marinated in sweet and savory soy sauce blend, served with rice topped with carrots, peas, sweet corn, and your choice of kimchi or cabbage (I went for the kimchi). Since I was at a Korean sizzling plate place I might as well pick a protein/plate Koreans are known for. The Bulgogi was nicely seasoned, not drenched it sauce flavor but it was flavored to recognize it is Bulgogi. Mixing everything together and having a little crispiness on the edge of some rice reminded me of fried rice - and wondering why isn't there an over easy eggs on this plate. The plate itself was packed with taste but lacked an egg and no there is no option to add one. Yah, eggs are expensive right now but many people have suggested this as well (they are on soft opening and wanted feedback). I added the Spicy Gochujang Sauce and it stepped up the heat game a notch but not to the point where your mouth is on fire.
