The seafood rice consisted of shrimp, calamari, clams, mussels, vegetables ( carrots, onions, cabbage), a white sauce, top with toasted red cabbage, this was 3.5/5 due to limited sauce. The bulgogi was delicious and flavorful, tender and great portion, this is 4/5 due to unable to alter vegetables to add to dish, also an egg was added but only as scrambled not over easy as preferred. The Jeyah pork as a side order to put on the fries; great combination! Pork was tender, a settle kick, and juicy. Customer service was good as the cashier explained everything and what they could and couldn't adjust ingredients due to prepackaged for the vegetables mix. I like this place. It's a fast casual Korean hot plate spot (think bibimbap but hot stone plate instead). I usually get the slice beef with rice in cabbage mix. Similar concept to Pepper Lunch, Voqozo has sizzling plates with different carbs and proteins. They don't have as many options but I think their portions are generous and there are options for double protein too. Once seated, you order everything through a QC code on the table, through Toast. Food comes out pretty quick since the kitchen doesn't need to cook anything. But because everything is sizzling in the main dining area, it can get a bit stuffy. I ordered the Sliced Beef Steak Rice with cabbage mix and although it's a bit pricey for a meal, the portions were pretty large. I wasn't able to finish the whole thing in one sitting. There was a good meat to rice ratio but there could have been more vegetables. Meat was tender and if you need more flavoring, there are bottles of Sweet and Sour Teriyaki Sauce and Spicy Gochujang Sauce. Pro-tip: spread the rice flat and cover as much of the hot surface of the sizzling plate. Let it sit for a bit to get a delicious, crunchy crust on your rice. We also ordered the French Fries w/ Kimchi Seasoning. Save the dollar and just get the normal fries because I couldn't really taste the Kimchi flavor. The fries themselves were crispy though. Overall, a good meal and a fun experience if you like to cook things yourself. My husband works in the area, so he's been here a few times already - he ordered the Jeyuk bowl - tasty! It has good flavor, pork was tender, it comes with rice and kimchi. Possibly my newest favorite place to fast grub near UTC. There's a place up in NorCal that I missed so much since moving to SD that would sell sizzling plates. Voqozo took the concept and made it original, made it their own, and definitely made it delicious. The portion is sure worth the price (average priced) and the service is great. Ordering is done on your phone or at the counter, super simple. It's especially great for a dine and go when you have busy schedules but still a homey and friendly place to sit and dine with friends and family. The restaurant is very clean and generally just all positive things when it comes to Voqozo. I'll definitely be coming back. Came here for lunch with my mom on a weekend. This is in a strip mall where Ross and Marshalls are. They have plenty of parking spaces. My mom and I shared the double jeyu (spicy spork) that came with a small bowl of rice. It came sizzling hot and smells delicious. The taste did not disappoint either. Last time I visited this spot there was a fried chicken place here.  Originally I remember a Fins taco place here.  Maybe Voqozo will have better luck.  Staff was nice and encouraged me to use the online ordering system. I ordered the bulgogi with japchae.  Rice noodles had a snap to them and a nice mild flavor which went well with the salty bulgogi.  Bulgogi was tender and had tons of salty soy sauce flavor.  Pretty good dish.  My favorite bulgogi is the marinated bulgogi from Zion which I grill over charcoal on my Weber Smokey Joe.  Voqozo's version needs a bit less salty flavor and more of the smoky component. Voqozo is nicely decorated but I'm not a fan of the hardwood benches.  I like my seating more cushioned. Staff was very nice and got my meal out quickly. read more

Another sizzling place popped up. Reminding me of what I've been chasing in SD, Pepper Lunch. I didn't have super high hopes because I saw the easily identifiable frozen peas, carrots, corn combo in everyone's photos. But, I wanted it to be good. Ordered the bulgolgi udon. My friend ordered the same but requested no green onions. Mine came out pretty quickly and was sizzling and had a nice char. Flavor was good, but portion felt small for the price. However, my friend's dish seemed to be missing the sauce. I think they forgot in the midst of making sure there were no green onions. She ended up adding her own sauce from the table. Ordering can be done at the table through the QR code which is super convenient, however paying still requires a server. Would be much better to be able to pay online and separately too. It has been tough to keep track of the number of businesses that have rotated through this set of suites in the La Jolla Village Square. I think almost all five spaces have turned over within the last few years. In particular, there had been a couple of Korean fried chicken vendors that did not last long at one address before Voqozo recently opened. The concept is Korean sizzling plates which seems to be trendy as a similar place debuted in the Convoy District but with more of an Asian fusion theme to their plates. The dining area was clean with a modern feel. Somewhere around 50 customers could be seated which included a few tables outside on the front sidewalk. The workers were all pleasant and welcoming. I even had a nice discussion with the manager on duty about the previous businesses that operated out of this location. It has been a tumultuous history with now the same owners as the poke shop next door. Ordering was done by scanning a QR code that was at each table. Currently, you can only create an order but not close out the tab online. Larger photos of the menu items could be viewed on the screens that were hanging behind the service counter. Approximately twenty types of sizzling rice and noodle plates were available with different proteins that could be added in single or double servings. My pick was the Seafood Japchae which was a base of glass noodles with veggies, shrimp, squid, and mussels. Within several minutes, a hot cast iron skillet was brought to my table with the ingredients still sizzling. The flavor of the mix was mild, however the size of each piece of seafood was tiny. For almost $20, I expected larger shrimp and squid to be used like what I would receive from a Chinese takeout spot when ordering Seafood Lo Mein. Both were pretty good. Highly recommend the jeyuk if you like spicy. I wish they added more meat, especially on the beef jajang though considering how much rice there is. But you do have the option to pay more for extra meat. They bring you a little cup of water but don't leave a jug to refill like other Korean restaurants do so it can get a little annoying trying to flag a waiter for water refill. read more

Great service. Our server (who looked like a young college male, sorry didn't get his name) was super sweet and helped us set a table outside since we had our dogs with us. Came out to check on us often to fill up our waters and make sure we had all our sauces, napkins, ect. Food was ok. I had the opportunity to try out Voqozo about a week or so ago, and I had an excellent time! I ordered the jeyuk rice, which came with corn, peas, rice, carrots, and kimchi (which I chose to add on). The dish came out on a hot plate, and it came out sizzling! We were encouraged to mix the dish right away, which I did as soon as I snapped a photo. The jeyuk rice was SO delicious. The pork was so perfectly marinated, and its sauce was sufficient to flavor the entire dish. It was not at all too spicy, and it had a nice tiny hint of sweetness.
