I ordered Cashew Chicken (my fav!), Sweet and Sour Chicken, and BBQ Pork Pan Fried Noodes - the pan fried noodles were a first for me tonight but they were pretty good. I was expecting them to be thicker noodles, but I liked their consistency. The meat was good too and the veggies (other than those tiny corns that I hate and didn't realize was in it so I didn't have a chance to request they weren't in there). This was a great place to get delivery in Torrance. Their walnut shrimp was tasty, sweet with not too much breading. Chow fun was delicious and they served a HUGE portion. I also really liked the BBQ Pork fried rice (LOTS of pork!). The only downfall here were the appietizers. The "crab & creamcheese wontons" were really just cream cheese. Not even any green onion in there. Just very bland. The veggie & chicken egg roll was all chicken, no veg. I mean, I guess that's a good deal but it was basically like a piece of weird fried chicken. If you are on a budget do NOT come here. I ordered 3 dishes and it cost me $36. I was thinking it would be no more than $10. The parking wasn't on the street so I parked in the back, thinking it would be a quick stop. When I came out I was blocked in and had to wait. So I would suggest you park on the street around the corner, not very far away but helpful to know. I ordered the combination rice, honey walnut shrip and the cream cheese won tons. I freaking loved the rice and the won tons. i could order that every time I go and be happy. The shrimp needs improvement, I tried them hot and cold and still wasn't up to par. I think it had too much mayo on them and needed to be fried or baked a little better. Yes I would go to this place again but I will have to wait until payday to afford it. So maybe once a year at most. One lady and her small daughter stopped to get food. I guess they were thinking that it was like Panada Express but the prices wasn't, she had to leave because the cost was too much. I think for the rice alone you are looking at $14 without tax. The lady behind the counter was very nice and the guy that gave me my food was nice too. They are very nice and the customer service was good. This place is the best Chinese delivery you can ask for. The lunch specials are really good- come with so much food, rice, egg roll, choice of hot n sour soup or egg drop, and wontons. All for $6.50. I don't know why some of the reviews are so bad. If you are looking for decent Chinese food, that is fast and NOT panda express or Hong Kong express, order this. I was not disappointed. Great carry out (and delivery) Chinese food. Like Jason's review, I drove by this spot a lot and hardly noticed the sign had changed recently. My co-workers sort of discovered this place and brought me along once to pick up some fast food to go. I went back on my own since it was more than decent and convenient. The lunch specials are impressive. Its not the cheapest, but not expensive by any means from $6-7. But they give you A LOT. Not just the entree, but each lunch special comes with: -choice of soup (hot and sour or egg drop) -egg roll and sweet and sour sauce -fried wonton -sesame ball -fortune cookie... of course. Their food is made to order. You can see the guy in the back cooking it on a blazing wok. I concur, the taste is fresh, for take out Chinese. I'm guessing the food is photogenic. Despite my Yelp buddy Eli G's negative review of this place, the food looked awesome on film. Must be an expensive camera. I'm going to get down to the nitty gritty. General Tao's Chicken tasted too sweet and too sour and not very spicy. The chicken tasted mediocre and the breading was just so soggy and not crunchy like real GTC should taste like. :( Mongolian Beef was the second worst MB I've had in my life. I mean, it didn't suck but good Lord it looked like the ratio of beef-to-onions was 30:70. Seriously, for every strip of beef there were seven baby onions of equal size right next to it. They should rename this dish "Mongolian Baby Onions with beef." For real! At least the Mongolian sauce was delicious. This seriously tasted like a vegetarian meal that was smothered in beef at the last second. Chicken Wontons also suffered from "less meat ratio" as the wonton seemed to take up 90% of the item with just 10% "chicken." Borderline tasteless. Let's not forget the three fortune cookies with the sucky non-fortunes. You know what I'm talking about. The ones that say things like: "Your sense of humor attracts strangers and friends alike." WTF kind of fortune is that? That's not a fortune, that's a vague fact. I like fortune cookies, not vague fact cookies. Ah, I'm scraping the barrel and rambling. Small little place on Torrance Blvd right before get to Crenshaw, I almost missed it. They have a great deal on lunch special which are 7 days a week 11-4 pm, friendly staff and your food comes out rather quickly. The food was delicious, pot stickers, Kung Poa chicken and BBQ Pork Chow Mein, soup, a egg rolls and wonton come with the meal :-) definitely will come again and recommend it read more

Thank heavens for this place. Serially! There's a dearth of decent Chinese delivery in the South Bay, and that hurts for those of us who need their fix but are too damn lazy to leave the house (me!). Anyway, it took us two years but we finally found our go-to place. MK rocks for so many reasons. First of all, they're actually one of the few restaurants in LA that are aware of this amazing technology called a "database." You know, so when you call them up 1x/week and tell them your phone number, they already have your address. Ok, nice, you're thinking, but how the hell's the food? The food is GOOD. Their cream cheese wontons are off the hook and the sweet n' pungent (read: spicy & tart) chicken is bombastic. But that's not all! As the other previous Yelpers have already mentioned they actually throw in a bunch of extra freebies. The first time a shrimp app. Last time it was a big honking thing of hot n' sour soup AND mini-versions of those yummy mochi balls dessert (red bean paste filled fried "doughnuts" coated with toasted sesame seeds). For a restaurant in this economy to be giving food away...that's just frickin awesome. Give these guys a shot...promise you won't be disappointed, esp. if they can satisfy a picky HM bitch like me. This is my go-to place when I want crispy walnut shrimp. I call ahead and pick up. With the speed of their service, I was skeptical at first about the freshness of the food. Nope, it's delicious. Thing is, I don't bother with anything else on the menu. I can't honestly review all their food without trying at least a few different dishes. Just ordered delivery for tonight and it was really good! I ordered the honey walnut shrimp and the Szechuan pork, both came with rice. The walnuts were super crunchy which I loveeee. I hate when it gets all chalky. The shrimp had the right amount of sauce and they're pretty big. The Szechuan pork was really good, too. Not as flavorful as the restaurant we usually order from, but pretty close (plus the restaurant we usually order from doesn't deliver). When I called in the order, the girl who took my order spoke perfect English, which was a relief. I was quoted 45 minutes, food got here in half an hour. This past Valentine's Day, I thought I was being smart by avoiding the restaurant crowd and ordering take-out. Apparently, lots of other people had the same idea because the delivery arrived about 45 mins later than anticipated: they were swamped! That being said, the delivery guy was so kind and apologetic that it was impossible to be upset. He explained that they were unusually busy that night, so I would imagine on a typical week night, the wait is not nearly as long. The food was still hot, AND they threw in extra order of egg rolls. We were both very satisfied with the quality and taste of everything we ordered. For a little under $40, we got enough food for a very filling dinner and two additional meals the next day. Never greasy. Always great service. Lunch specials are very inexpensive and always have more than enough food. Great to-go containers. All chicken is usually White meat. Always a plus with me. This place is fantastic. We have been ordering food for pick up and delivery for years. The best route is definitely delivery as the store is so small it is not conducive to waiting. The food. OMG the food. They claim to be healthier than other options but they coulda fooled me because the food is outstanding! Our usual orders include: -Chow mein (vegetable or pork) -fried rice (vegetable, pork or chicken) -orange chicken -beef and broccoli -pot stickers Of course if you order a meal you get an egg roll, wonton and choice of egg flour soup or hot and sour soup with white rice. All of those extras are awesome as well. The service is fantastic. The people are friendly. Delivery is prompt. They usually throw in tons of napkins, forks, chopsticks and fortune cookies. Everything is always cooked well and warm upon delivery. Their packaging is so fantastic that we keep it and use it for our own personal Tupperware. The amount of food for cost is on point. I work nearby and enjoy their lunch specials. So far, I have had the Mongolian beef, the basil chicken, and the kung pao. It comes with soup, an egg roll, rice, and the entree. A lot of food for $7 or so. This is really a takeout spot, but very cheap and reliable. The meats are good quality, especially for the price. Best so far we have found in the area. They made Tofu General Tso for me and the rest of the family had orange chicken. Everything was great. This place is as good as it gets when it comes to chinese fast food. I don't think you can really compare this one to Panda Express though. I went to the actual store the other day, and I ordered the orange chicken lunch special and the regular 'dinner sized' chow mein to go. It took about 5-10 minutes to get my food, but it was worth it. Next time, I'll probably call in and pick up, since I'm so close. I actually saw a cook making all the food. Maybe they prepare the food to be cooked, but I saw everything go into that wok one item at a time, and NOT in big batches like you would see at other restaurants. So that might explain why it tastes "fresh" in other words. The noodles were real nice thick chow mein noodles with freshly sauteed veggies and nice big juicy chicken pieces. They do not skimp on that. The orange chicken was very yummy and not dry! wow. The portions are very decent for the lunch special. Well worth $6. Oh, and their fried rice that comes with the special comes with no veggies, which my bf LOVED! He's extremely picky about chinese food, and he actually really like this place, as did I. Lots of flavors, nice packaging (nice sturdy, reheat-able), and nice people. There is no seating, so it's only pick up or delivery. These guys rock when it comes to Chinese food that is quick and good. The delivery service here is quick, usually under 40 minutes. This isn't a sit-down place, as it only takes to-go or delivery orders. As for the food, it is very comparable to a lot of the nice Chinese sit-down restaurants. The lunch special items are a killer value (the most expensive entree is still under $7. Lunch specials come with one entree, rice of your choosing, egg flower soup, egg roll, and chicken wonton. I normally order Kung Pao, Orange Chicken, Broccoli Beef or Chicken. The egg roll is really good, as is the wonton! The rice is VERY dry and it doesn't have much egg. I didn't really mind, but my husband did. (He said it tasted like old rice with some soy sauce.) I've had both soups and I thought they were good. Again, my husband said it had to much gelatin. Pretty nice little spot for Chinese in Torrance. It's not your typical fast food place, though. They make this stuff fresh! I ordered 2 sweet and sour chicken lunch specials. It came with the chicken, steamed rice (but we substituted for fried), your choice of soup, a wonton, egg roll, fortune cookies and sriracha and soy sauce. They give you a lot for your money here, the total came out to only $14 for two orders!! The food was pretty tasty and fresh. My only critique is the rice was pretty hard in texture which was difficult to eat. I would return to try the other items on the menu. Beware! This is not a place you want to come and dine-in. Where to begin? We had been craving Chinese food and wanted to eat "good Chinese take out" as opposed to the usual option Panda Express. We ventured out to try this place as we saw it was close and decent reviews on Yelp. We ordered fried shrimp, combo fried rice, and Mongolian beef. We had orange chicken (extra spicy was barely spicy), teriyaki chicken which was delicious, cream cheese wontons and the chicken wontons. We also got the pork fried rice. Several boxes of white rice came with the meal as well. Finally, we got hot and sour soup, the large was two huge containers and more than enough! This place is so bomb!!! Pretty much everything on this menu is amazing. My favorite is the Kung Pao Chicken. The food quality is always a step above the rest. They get super busy for lunch/dinner so call ahead. I'm not mad at the little black takeout containers either, I re-use those suckers all the time. They're perfect for re-heating leftovers. haha. The owner is very sweet and the employees have always been really nice to me. The prices are very fair for the quality of food that you get. Don't even bother with any other spots. Hong Kong Express and Panda Express are not even in the same ballpark as Mandarin Kitchen. Those spots are Chinese fast food. This spot is more traditional Chinese made quickly, if that makes any sense. You don't walk up to a sneeze guard and pick out 2 item combo plates with food that has been sitting out for who knows how long. You order your food and the dudes in the back cook it hot and fresh right then and there. This place would probably have 4.5/5 stars if not for the trolls and the occasional order mistake. The BBQ Pork Fried Rice is great. Rice is tender, pork flavorful and just enough scallion, peas and carrots. Chicken Chow Fun is sick delicious and the Orange Chicken? Forget everywhere else. THIS IS THE BEST ORANGE CHICKEN E-VER!! Crispy, delicate sauce, with plump and juicy pieces of chicken. I have NEVER had a bad take out here. The staff? SUPER FRIENDLY and always patient. We were craving orange chicken late tonight, so thankfully this place closes at 10. Called in the chicken, plus sliced char siu (bbq pork), at 9:50, picked up by 10. $17.54, they threw in an order of steamed rice too. That was nice. I used to frequent this place when it was under the previous administration.... based on this first visit, I'd have to say there's been a bit of an improvement. The char siu is 10x better than before. Previously it was really dry. This time it was served with some broth as well as white and green onions. The orange chicken was very tasty and had less breading than your standard take out joint, which I liked. If you're looking for authentic chinese food, you probably shouldn't be looking anywhere near the intersection of torrance and crenshaw. But if you're looking for fast, decent, reasonable take out that's a step up from Panda Express and the like, Mandarin Kitchen is a pretty good choice. read more
