Great guy!! Value is quite good. If you're a senior then be sure you are being charged the lesser price. Lately on TWO occasions they have over charged us even after being advised two to three times. Atmosphere is very inviting and clean. The staff are consistently cleaning all areas including buffet area. There are a wide variety of selections and is easily accessible from either side. Our server/waiter was Donnie W and he was very attentive and polite. He came around as often as possible clearing the dirty plates and asking us if we needed anything. It's mainly Chinese food, but small selection of sushi is also included. Pricing is not bad either. There is no time limit on how long you may dine. This is still a buffet so you cannot compare it to fine dining, but the quality is still comparable to what you would get at a Chinese restaurant. read more

We were surprised that the restaurant was half fulled with customers having lunch in the hump day of the week. And most of the customers are locals because this restaurant is quite far from tourists area. Their buffet booth serves wide variations of food. Appetizers booth serves internationally options, and my favorite was the fresh mussels and shrimps. The hot booth serves mostly asian and western mix meals, for me they are all in standard taste. My first favorite booth is the fresh sushi combined with grill booth, they both serves good food. The second and best favorite booth is the dessert booths. Desserts start from cakes, pies, candy and finish with ice creams. We were pleased with our server, Annie. She's provided warm services by providing hot towels in the beginning and at the end, and always clear the table anytime we finish our plate. read more

Even though I already had an inexpensive Chinese buffet lunch stateside today, this place caught my eye when my husband expressed a desire to go to Niagara Falls, and also visit a buffet for dinner. This is not an inexpensive buffet, but the quality of food absolutely warrants the price tag. We spent $114 USD after 20% tip for two adults, two kids, three sodas and a cocktail but I definitely feel like we got our money's worth. First of all, this restaurant is very festive and attractive. There's a koi pond and dragon sculpture up front, and fish tanks throughout. The staff is beautifully dressed. There's lanterns and vivid colors everywhere. Service is exceptional, some of the best I've received, starting from the front of house and including wait staff, cooks and one of the owners who came to visit with guests. Normally I associate buffets with lesser quality food, but everything was great. So much sea food! I had crab legs, baked salmon, salmon sushi, smoked salmon sushi, a California roll, a salmon and cream cheese roll, and the best fried fish filet ever that I dipped in a tasty plum sauce. There was also a carving station with excellent prime rib, au jus, garlic mashed potatoes, and some other grilled meats. They have a very unique salad bar, and so many fruits and veggies. The desserts were unbelievable, especially the New York cheesecake and tiramisu. They also had cupcakes, strawberry shortcake, tarts, and a sundae bar with fresh fruit in addition to the usual sprinkles. I tried the lychee love martini with vodka, saki and lychee, and it was amazing. Sweet, but not too sweet and a great palate cleanser for my meal. Not a place we can visit regularly, but I'd love to come back once a year at least. read more

Did a quick late lunch here. Service was quick and prompt. Vivian was very sweet and helpful with all our questions. It was interesting that they put a time limit for eating but 90 minutes is reasonable as long as food kept coming out. My favorite part is the service that they give you hand towels to sanitize before and after eating!! Every restaurant should do this. Very good Chinese buffet by the tourist heavy Niagara fall. They offer a large variety of selections of Chinese dishes such as stir fries, all kinds of BBQ items, sushi, and roast beef and lamb. Tastes are good. Not too salty or msg added. Our family all loved the tastes. Interior decoration is nice with feeling of a Chinese palace. Our server Lisa F. is super helpful and attentive. She really offers excellent customer service. One thing that can be improved is that the roast beef can be better. It's too stiff and dry in this location. Our family like Mandarin and we went to mandarin in another location the next evening. Their roast beef is way better and more juicy. Overall, I definitely recommend going to this fairy priced restaurant if you want to have some good Asian food when you are visiting Niagara. read more

Today was my 5th or 6th visit to Mandarin, and I'd swear it is better than ever. Somehow, and this is no small feat, Mandarin managed to make the perfect Hot and Sour Soup. Definitely one of the items that was today better than ever. In judging any Chinese restaurant, buffet or not, I have the hot and sour soup. Today I had the best ever. My daughter, visiting Buffalo from South Carolina, wasn't keen on going to Canada for a Chinese buffet.... I mean, if you 've been to a dozen or so Chinese buffets, haven't you been to them all? NO. Not until you've been to the Mandarin. If I had any complaint today, it was that there was no brown rice sushi. As a diabetic, I prefer brown to white rice. And Mandarin has been the only buffet where I've found brown rice sushi. But everything else being excellent eclipsed its absence. Yes, a little more expensive than other Chinese buffets; but in a class of its own, it is worth it. Over 150 selections on the buffet and seats 400 guests. Each dining room is decorated differently. I can attest that anywhere around a holiday, you want to make a reservation well in advance. Normal, non-holiday do not need reservations. Went here yesterday for an early dinner. I'm not a big buffet person as I don't like to overeat so we ordered the combination plate with chicken balls, beef and vegetables, chicken fried rice, and and egg roll---all for $9.99. It was all cooked perfectly in about 15 minutes. It tasted really good with the chicken balls not having too much breeding. The rice has amazing flavor. The place looks nice inside, with it being decorated big time. The staff is super friendly, they all seem to work together, like a well oiled machine. They really do take care of you here. You really can't go wrong eating here, we look forward to our next visit! read more

Mandarin is bringing out their "small eats" version of service. To me it's a terrible decision. You go to a buffet restaurant to pick and choose the food you like for a fixed price... that's the experience you are looking for. That is gone. Also, there is too much waiting. I guess this is more of a Covid thingy... but I'm not going back anymore if that's the case. One star is for the nice service from the server... one thing too, there is too much interaction with the server, which defeats social distancing. The food choices are mediocre at best, I guess that's what you get for $3.99, $4.99 dishes. I'd recommend that they bring back the buffet stations and require the staff and customers to wear mask and shields, appropriate distancing when lining up for the dishes. read more

My wife and I have been to this restaurant a few times with success but tonight it was really terrible. The place is open until 9:30 and we showed up about 8:15. My recommendation is don't go late. It was thanksgiving day here and the hostess was telling us about the special food. I waked right up to get the special turkey but it was gone. They had a special veggie with wood mushrooms but the dish had no mushrooms even regular white ones. The shrimp with sugar snap peas - yep you guessed it no sugar snap peas, even when they refilled it - only onion each time. The sushi chef was gone and there were only half filled plates of gummy sushi which had to be made hours earlier. The pastry were small torn up remnants of something nice I am sure. Not at 8:30. Maybe someone will say so do t go that late! To which I would say if you advertise serving until 9:30pm please make an effort to keep the food fresh! When I told the manager that the turkey was gone and the food was a bit rough, he said well it is late. But I hope everything else was good!! Omg did he even listen?!?? I would not go back. Ina similar buffer in the US, it may have been $38 with a coke and tip. Tonight it was EIGHTY ONE CANADIAN DOLLARS!!! Even when converted to USD it was $62. I can't take a chance wasting that much cash ever again. Sorry I was a fan but not anymore. Maybe if you refunded some of that but I doubt it. read more

Fantastic selection of food. Very clean inside. We got welcomed as soon as we walked in, and got a tour of where/what everything is. They even have a cotton candy machine! About a month ago I almost ate at s Mandarin in Hamilton but the wait was so long we ended up going somewhere else. Yesterday we ended up showing up to this location about 15 minutes before they opened and managed to be the first ones in the door and the first ones to dig in. Now I'm not proud of the fact that this is the third buffet I've been too in the last two months, in fact, now that I've typed that I want to slap myself in the face for it, but I swear this will be the last one got a while. Anyway, this place is absolutely beautiful inside. On top of being an awesome looking place, it's even completely covered in Christmas decorations which makes it that much cooler. The place itself was massive and the staff was extremely friendly the entire time we were there. The food though? This was hands down the best Asian style buffet I have ever been to in my life, and I think I can say that without any question. The stations here are huge and offer everything you could possibly expect from a buffet and even offers things like king crab legs, prime rib, an extensive quality sushi menu, grilled meats, authentic Chinese side dishes, and the usual (but better) buffet basics. On top of the main course food they have both a salad bar, a soup bar, a full ice cream bar (with toppings), and 3 full sections of desserts with everything from cupcakes, cookies, little cannolis, pie, cake, cotton candy, and whatever else you are thinking about. Overall, like I said, this is hands down the best buffet I have ever been too. Maybe the food all being fresh helped, maybe the excellent service helped, but when all of those things mix together you get an overall fantastic experience. This place is clean looking, food looked fresh and delicious, staffs were so nice and polite, damn I wish we had one of these in America. The moment you come in you are greeted with kindness, then they got hot lemon towels that they hand out to you before you eat and after you leave. There was a mixture of american food and Chinese, but I only stuck to eating Chinese. I wanted to try everything, but no room in my tummy, this would need to be a two day event to cover all the food they have there. Their dessert bar has a wide selection, they have ice cream and a soft serving yogurt machine. We were there during the Lunar Moon Festival so they had moon cake as part of their dessert and was handing out little lantern as a gift. As far as buffets go this place was great. I came here with my parents and my parents loved it so much we were here for 2 dinners during our short trip. The food was decent for a buffet. As everyone knows buffet food is good if its edible. And this is one of the better ones ive been to. Lots of variety for entrees and baked goods - and the best part is the kitschy decor - AMAZING! Mandarin is the best! My family and I make the short trip across the border for a lot of our family celebrations. We always go with the buffet option. A lot of times, buffets are kind of gross and the food is questionable, but not here! Here there are chefs preparing everything and the quality of the food is all around super delicious. The space is large and there's always enough room for a whole crowd. The staff is also always excellent and really make the experience something special. Honestly, you absolutely get what you pay for here. Anytime I go I'm literally a kid in a candy store and I can't help but eat everything and usually I don't stop until I've eaten at least 8 plates. On days where I know I'll be going to Mandarin, I tend to fast. I love it so much. read more
