Really bad all around, the shrimp shumai was frozen from a box appetizer & very fishy, the Kung Pao chicken was about as you would picture it but I asked for XXX spicy & they reassured me it would be but it was not even mild. Typical place where they go "ya ya ya we nooow we make how you like" but it sucked & was delivered almost an hour late! My company rotates their menu into our routine for lunch and dinner, and I've had them in the past, and it was what I would consider good. I've dabbled across their menu - had different sushi rolls and different entrees (classic stuff, sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef, etc), and earlier tonight I had a "special" - their sweet-walnut-shrimp-or-whatever-the-shit-is-called. (I love me some panda express honey walnut shrimp, but I was penned up in my little room at work, and they wouldn't let me out to play with other humans for the night.) Back to the shrimp. First few bites were like heaven - sickeningly sweet (taste like some Wilford Brimley diabetus), beautifully battered shrimpies. They looked like soft golden pillows sent from Buddah himself to grace my eager gob... Ahh.. I remember those feelings 6 hours ago. Now. Now - I'm crying. Soft golden pillows, my ass. More like blister-battered-shrimp-like-napalm-nuggets ripping through my lower digestive system, covered in a simple sugar/honey/condensed milk cocktail of fatal flux. I haven't seen shit this bad since the salmonella scare of '06. Still have nightmares about that night. Cringe. read more

I just called a delivery and paid with my card. I was about to give them tips with cash but as soon as I push the button of no tips it turned out to double the payment.WTF? We order deliver, and we plan to pay the cash for the tips, after we push no tips on the driver's phone, they charge me double fee ( not the tips), and we ask the driver why does it happen? ok this is the real deal about Mandarin.. it's extrrrrremely filthy inside. how the F do they have an A? i saw bugs crawling around inside the DINING ROOM? When it was brought to my attention that this place only had 2.5 stars I thought, "What are these people thinking?" Maybe you folks are ordering the wrong things... I get the same order every time. Keep it simple and delicious like that. Order the shrimp chow fun, rainbow roll and pico roll. There, you're set. That gives you a well rounded variety of flavors, hot and cold, fried and fresh. I have not actually sat down and eaten in the restaurant before, always do delivery. So this is me saying "thanks" to whoever is running this restaurant. Monosodium Glutamate!! People who are allergic to that should watch out because this restaurant uses a lot of MSG to improve the taste of their low quality food. It's my local go to restaurant. Foods great, always freshly prepared and hot. They take the time to package the food toughfully so the fried stuff isn't soggy & the wet not all over the bag (hey, it's the little things) They've never gotten my order wrong and are always before expected delivery time. I don't understand the negative reviews. 1 the food is legit good and authentic, maybe everyone just got used to bad Chinese food...2. with all the chinese places in the area that deliver, there are enough choices out there so we can avoid this place. it took an hour and 20 minutes for the food to get here after the 45 minute estimate and the delivery guy parked across the street in another building's parking lot. uhh, weird? j was starving, and we just randomly picked this menu out of the menu drawer since i wanted a sushi roll and they had them. what a mistake! the brown rice was perfect. and thats where they shined. woo. that upped them to one star instead of zero. kung pao chicken...spicy and bland cashew chicken...bland mapo tofu...spicky and bland egg flower soup...bland and basically just eggs in broth. and their "egg drop corn soup" has chicken in it, which just isnt what i wanted. cucumber sunomono...cucumbers tasted like cucumbers and there was runny ranch dressing on top. hard to mess up, i guess...but not exactly what i had in mind when i ordered. rainbow roll...pretty good. but i had to use a spoon to mix my wasabi and soy. why no chopsticks, guys? plus, i didnt order dessert because why bother? my options are chocolate cake, almond cookies or ny style cheese cake. blah. over the "health conscious" section of the menu, it says, "all dishes steamed without oil, starch, sugar and salt. served with garlic sauce or sweet and sour on the side" uhh, did they mess up and make my food that way and forget my sauce options? cuz they tasted like there was no seasoning at all aside from the spice. blah. read more

I order from this restaurant probably three times a month. I am always satisfied with the food. I actually am glad that there is a local, affordable option for me as I have three children and a wife. My only gripe is that when I order food, the driver is very pushy when it comes to receiving a tip. Like I am going to tip you, just be patient you don't have to stick your hand out and say tip please tip please. And also it would be nice if I could have more than two small packets of soy sauce, being that I am feeding five people. Every time I call the restaurant to say make sure that the driver has enough soy sauce, they say that the driver has already left. Stop being stingy with the soy sauce and I will give you another star. read more

This is the WORST Chinese takeout I've ever had in LA! First of all, across the top of the menu in big green letters, it says "Fast Free Delivery". Our order took over an hour and 15 minutes to be delivered. We ordered pan fried dumplings which were nothing more than frozen gyoza (like the ones you can buy at Trader Joe's). The Sizzling Rice Soup has imitation crab meat in it. The sauce in the pan fried noodles was downright inedible, and the spicy chicken wings were questionable at best. The only thing we ordered that was remotely flavorful was the General Tsao's chicken, but it was nothing to write home about. To top it all off, they don't give you steamed rice with anything, which would have been fine if they told us so we knew to order it, but they didn' (unless they just forgot it). All of the food was cold because of the long delivery time, and after all of the waiting and the reheating, it was terrible. Do yourself a favor and skip this place all together. I have eaten at this place twice in one week. Stumbled upon their menu in a stack and ordered delivery last Tuesday night, I believe. The food was the best Chinese food I have had in Los Angeles. My friend agreed as well. So good, we actually set out and dined in on Saturday night. The place is a cute little cramped take out place with no liquor or beer license, so they gave us attitude when we asked if there was a liquor store around. They wouldn't let us bring beer in, which was weird, but it's by campus so maybe they just don't want to have any trouble. Delicious food. Good service. Good prices. And all of this coming from a person who doesn't even really like Chinese food. Really. Call them. There food is awesome. read more

I like this place a lot and I'm surprised to see a lot of the bad reviews. They have delicious chicken lo mein and chicken fried rice. I like the moo goo gai pan too. I've ordered some of the sushi as well and it was totally acceptable, yet a little bit small for the price of the order. The red dragon roll is my favorite. NASTY! I didn't realize that Vegetable Egg Foo Young came as one big round greasy omelete thing (YUCK!) The Vegetable Fried Rice was also greasy with big pieces of scrambled eggs thrown in for good measure. The 'sauce' had frozen vegetable pieces. Their gimmick is making you pay upfront and don't dare asking any questions as you will be ignored as they will start to talking to each other in Chinese. That should of been my first clue. This place is awful! Run away to a better eatery. Got there about 9:45ish...ordered a 2 dishes. They served us one and forgot about the other. I can understand if it was a big order, but they couldn't remember two dishes, even after writing them down? really? That was not it though. Before leaving, we asked for a warm glass of water. Rolled by literally on our bmx's at lunch today, and my friend loves chinese food so i know we had to stop. We ordered some hot and sour soup (a little thick), lo mein (a little oily), black bean chicken (good), string beans (good), and snow peas and bbq pork (ok), which ran our bill to about 40 bucks, but fed four very hungry men very well. So I ordered out. I got the Moo Goo Gai Pan (chicken and mushroom) lunch combo. It was cheap $6. However, the quality of the food was low, even by Chinese food standards. The dish was way too salty.
