This place, which is located in our old Santa Monica neighborhood in a strip mall, I happen to read an outstanding review about their food by someone on the Nextdoor app. Now, I remember I ate their food 2 plus years ago and to be honest, I rarely read anybody's review of any Restaurant on that application, but it caught my eye and I read it and I thought you know what I gotta try this place again!! Well, my husband picked up a late lunch for us from there today! Well, in a word " scrumptiousness" and then some. Mu shu pork with pancakes that didn't fall apart! Oh my! Shrimp in lobster sauce soooo good! Onion pancakes were crispy and perfect with a delicious sauce for dipping! Cucumber sononomo that hit the spot ( I love cucumber salads )... And garlic string beans that tasted like the kind I used to get in New York City and then at Typhoon at the Santa Monica Airport restaurant which was my favorite until they closed down in 2016...still in mourning bc it was the BEST! So, I will be picking up food from here as our special weekend lunch treat, until I have eaten all they have to offer on their menu ( within Asian food wheelhouse). ;))) Small parking lot but plenty of street parking! Local westside businesses are my jam! Highly recommended for sure And the reason why I didn't take any pictures is because we ate everything up as he took it out of the bags!!!! I liked this place very much - Good food and good service until early March 2026. This place has been closed since early March 2026. There is a notice on the door that it was closed by Public Health for not having a license. The recording on the phone indicates that it was closed for remodeling, but there has been no visible signs of activity since the place closed in early March. I really liked the place until it closed. I look forward to it reopening, if that is in the cards. I gave it only one star because I had to rate it, and there is nothing to rate at the present. Food is generally really tasty. My partner had an odd time picking up our food last night. Got an alert that the food was ready and when he got there, it wasn't ready for another 15 or more minutes. Fine. But when I went to eat my vegetables and tofu the next day (today), I found a metal shaving in the dish. Just keep an eye on what you're eating from here. read more

Never have I seen customers treated as poorly as they were here. Here are objective factual events that occurred during my and others' visits (I was waiting for take out). * Woman on the phone is surly and rude af and says they don't have broccoli as a side but offers beef and broccoli to a customer on the phone while I'm awaiting takeout. * Refuses to modify any dishes when a customer walks in and asks very nicely if he could please have lo mein with chicken and nothing else. Lady refuses to tell the kitchen to remove the cabbage. Nice customer leaves in disbelief while giving her a piece of her mind that it is Christmas Day and maybe they should think about ensuring return business * My food gets done while I am literally sitting in front of the cashier from whom I ordered. She does nothing to check if my food came out and lets it sit for 10 minutes after being bagged I will NEVER be back and you shouldn't spend money either. My cousin and I were visiting Santa Monica for a week. We ordered from this restaurant 3 DAYS IN A ROW! The food WAS SOO GOOD that we had to come back. The customer service was incredible as well. i'm a foodie and I know good food. This may be just a little restaurant in a strip mall but the food is so good. I got the shrimp with broccoli and garlic sauce and the egg flour soup. Mandarin Chinese & Japanese was really nice low key spot on pico. The people inside were really nice and patient and did a good job of recommending some things. It gave off an authentic Chinese restaurant except you can't eat in. The orange crispy shrimp was really awesome the sauce and texture was amazing. It gave off an orange chicken feel but it was shrimp and I enjoyed it a lot. Would definitely recommend. The sweet and sour chicken was good but it definitely could have been seasoned a bit more. The sauce does a good job at carrying the meal itself. The Cream cheese wontons are always great every where they same applies here really solid. /5 read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but this place truly deserves one. It's really a gem! I was so grateful they were open on Christmas Day. They had a limited menu for the holiday, but everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The hot and sour soup was so comforting on a rainy Christmas. It honestly warmed my soul. The orange chicken was very tasty, and the shrimp with string beans were super fresh. The cheese wontons and beef fried rice were clearly made FROM SCRATCH! You could actually see them being prepared in the kitchen! It was completely understandable that customization wasn't possible since they were the only place open, and you could see there were only two or three people working while nonstop orders kept coming in. Even though the staff were clearly exhausted, they stayed friendly, patient, and welcoming the entire time. The lady at the front was especially kind and patient while taking our order during such a busy time, even though my grandma has trouble hearing, which we truly appreciated. The wait was long, but absolutely worth it! The service never lost its warmth. The inside looks very nice, and it seems like they are remodeling with customers in mind. If I ever have another craving for Chinese food, this will be my pick! I had a very late night craving for some Chinese food and found this family business on Yelp! They were about to close in less than 30 minutes but were super kind to take our order for pick up. Much to our surprise the food was incredibly delicious! I paid for a water which I forgot to grab and this morning no questions asked they told me it was forgotten and I went back to grab it. We are new to the area by way of NYC! My daughter has been missing NYC and so sad we haven't food places that she really likes yet. It's been tough! She dislikes PE and so happy we found this spot! I saw it driving by and thought we could give it a try. It is a take out only place and the service was so friendly. Food was a good salt level and not too oily like most. It took them 10-15 mins to cook up our order. It was tasty and reminded us of that familiar feeling of home (NYC). We ordered: Beef Lomein - we love our noodles! Chicken Fried Rice - perfectly cooked rice and texture was on point Sweet and Sour Pork - this was good and not so salty, came with pineapples, onions and peppers. It comes with the red sweet and sour sauce to pour on your own. Egg Flower Soup (Egg Drop) - this was nice and light not thick/starchy like other take out places. Crispy noodles are our favorite to add. Almond Cookies - have always loved these since I was young. They came as a pack of 10 individually wrapped. Fortune cookies are always a plus! I was in such a mood for Chinese food and was thinking of San Gabriel Valley but didn't really want to drive that far and I saw solid reviews for this place so I thought I would give it a whirl. What a mistake. So, large menu to choose from, not expensive, nice person working the front so we got that. The food was below average and truly not as good as Panda Express. I got all types of things from the Egg Flower soup (not bad), Cheese Wontons (same as Panda Express in general), Mixed Protein Lo Mein (looked for the mix and found a piece of chicken and that is about it and not very good), Pork something (lots of onions and some pork somewhere), Chicken something (lots of green pepper and some chicken and meh), and Young Chow Fried Rice (no Young Chow and just ok). I really wish I would've been coming here for the last 10 years. They consistently make good american Chinese food and they are always quick. Since coming here the last two years all my dishes have been consistent and tasty. My only complaint is that instead of using paper boxes they put hot food in the very toxic black plastic containers. Sometimes my containers are melted which means it's leaking more chemicals into my food. I'm not really down with using the toxic black plastic on food and I prefer non-plastic options overall anyways. I definitely would order from here more often if they would make that switch to paper containers. read more

This is an unassuming mom and pop operation in a small strip mall. We ordered takeout so can't comment on the service. The food is pretty incredible. My favorite dish was the crispy honey walnut shrimp. The jumbo shrimp were succulent, coated with the sweet and velvety sauce, and nicely counterbalanced with the crunchy walnuts. So good! We also got the vegetable mushu, which came with four thin pancakes to wrap up the fresh vegetables and a wonderful hoisin sauce. Mmmm! I was also delighted by the cashew chicken and the fried rice. AWFUL WASTE OF a Chicken Classic. I had high hopes for this place and the prices are good. I actually thought that if I left a healthy tip they would prepare my food right. Sadly, the Salt and Pepper Chicken was hard as a rock. It also taste like it was fried in burnt grease. I think that the chicken was already battered and fried them placed on the side all day so when someone orders they could place it back in the grease to re-fry. It was just a mess. The worse salt a d Pepper chicken I ever had. Also, it taste like they sprinkled way too much sugar in the burnt seasoning. The onions However were FANTASTIC and have the chicken a nice kick. Sadly, I don't think I'll order anything else from here. I mean even after I said hello I'm a new customer and a nice tip, I received poor quality food. My stomach really hurts now and I simply can't eat this no matter how tasty it may look. They weren't even friendly :-( read more

We walked here to eat at around 8pm and the are still open up to 10pm. The service is really good, but due to understaff issue, they only have take out and delivery. No dine in available here for the time being. The food preparation is fast and the portion is generous, the flavor is just right. We like it spicy, but it is a bit too mild for us. Next time we will inform them in advance. For the price, portion and service, they are really good. Soft spoken cashier girl and fast finish of the food, it is one of the best options here. We will definitely come back again. By the way, the packing is also very nice. They make sure the food is full and no room left. That is very nice for customers, especially the first time. The soup was excellent with a nice kick and the large was plenty for two people. 5 Stars for the Hot and Sour! The crispy won ton strips that came with it were a nice addition. The fried rice was good. It had egg which we like. Ordered it without the green onions (scallions) which I hate. Give it only a 3 of 5 stars since it contains no vegetables, not even peas and carrots. It was good and the shrimp was plump. I'd order again if I can get them to add some vegetables to it (I'll pay extra). This was our first time there and I would recommend if you're looking for a reasonably priced Chinese takeout experience. read more

House sitting in Santa Monica and found this gem. Super fresh and tasty food (Honey Walnut Shrimp, Chicken Cashew and BBQ Pork Fried Rice). Staff very nice and accommodating-they provided plates and utensils to go so we didn't need to do dishes. We also had enough leftovers for another meal the next day! This place is in a small strip mall and isn't much to look at. I learned that post-Covid, they discontinued onsite dining ; so, probably not a good option for a romantic date unless, you are heading home or on a picnic. Enjoy! We certainly did. read more
