Barbacoa tacos were good, the chips and salsa also really delicious. Friend had a Chile relleno that also was really good along with the rice and the beans . The service attention to the client was also really good. The only reason a 4 star instead of 5 is because they don't have free refills on the soft drinks but reg tea or water. I had a agua fresca 12 oz cup and only had one side . So if you a thirsty dude like me .. get ready for multiple charges .. Place is also small but that's what makes it personal . The first time we attempted a visit, there was a long wait list which convinced us that we need to come back. It was well worth the return visit. They are not a large restaurant so fewer tables allowed for very good service. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. They have a wide array of food and drinks on the menu that were really hard to choose from. We had the fajitas and the soaps and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Smaller place just off the freeway. The staff were friendly enough, though the host/helper was the one that did everything and the waiter basically just took our order. Their salsa is warm but not spicy. They did have a habanero salsa they charge $2 for about an ounce but it spiced up the house salsa real good. The soda comes in a can. The food has good presentation. It was warm but not hot. Had decent flavor. Fajitas should sizzle when they come out. These did not and the veggies were not all the way cooked. The host/helper did good at keeping the chips full. It took quite a long time to get our drink order and then even to take our order. Not the best but not the worst. I'd eat here again if a friend asked me to come but it wouldn't be my first choice. And definitely a bit high priced. read more

We were in the Tomball area and wanted to try something new. Read the reviews on this establishment and we decided to give it a try. WOW! The food was delicious, including the starter salsa that was served WARM! Me likie! We had enchiladas and tacos al carbon. The fajita meat was seasoned just right as I could tell when they brought it out sizzling. The only downside to dining here was the portions (2 enchiladas on the plate, not 3). On the smaller scale compared to other Tex Mex restaurants and because we wanted more! Would definitely come here again if we find ourselves in the area. The food was good and worth a review. Hands down my favorite place to eat! Yep! You heard it here first folks, this is the best Mexican food I've had thus far in Houston. Coming from a far West Texas boy who knows some good Mexican. Salsa is amazing (I prefer cold and theirs is warm, but flavor profile is solid). Ask for the habanero and green salsa for a change. Stopped here for lunch and the place was almost totally full as they had a large group having a luncheon event in the middle of the restaurant. The wait staff worked efficiently to take our order and get the food served to us. Even with a large group everything ran smoothly. I had the lunch special enchiladas, which was very tasty. This restaurant has been around for about 6 years but it was a first time for us. The decor is really nice and it's a little cozy place. Our waiter was new to his job but the owner Becky was with him and they provided us with great personal service. We will definitely return. We started with drinks (House Margaritas , skinny margaritas and black diamond). They were a little on the sweet side but next time we will tell them to go easy on the syrup/agave. We ordered Queso Fumeado for appetizer which had generous amount of chorizo and came with warm tortillas. Delicious! For entrees we ordered enchiladas potosinas, enmoladas, chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and chile rellenos. All were really tasty and the mole sauce was exceptional. Loved it!! So we typically have a couple spots we enjoy but we went out later than usual on a Sunday. So I looked up Mexican food that closes later on Sundays. This popped up and WHAT A GEM IT WAS! I cannot believe that they've been around since precovid and we haven't tried them. This place is dangerously GOOD! My husband and I enjoy the more local/authentic vibe so if the Americanized version is your thing probably not the place to go. The staff, Rich was our server, was amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, and told us about the owner and place. The food has won awards for best fajitas and best restaurant and we now know why! I treated a friend to lunch at Mandi Cocina Mexicana yesterday. I t was the first we had been. He was a friend from my old church in San Antonio, and I have to say, the experience was outstanding. First of all, the ambience was quaint, but it had plenty of seating, and comfortable without being crowded. Since it was our first time, I asked the server if he could go over the menu and some of the specialties, and he was very knowledgeable. He described the lunch specials, and then the larger entrees. He then pointed out a small tent on the table that was promoting a double Angus burger with a brioche bun , served with fires. This was a burger recipe with a Mexican flare. Also, the server pointed out his personal favorites. My friend ordered the fish tacos and I ordered the burger with fries, even though originally I had planned on trying a more traditional Mexican fare. What can I say, I like burgers. I had also ordered some queso to go along with the chips and salsa that was brought to our table upon being seated. The first response to the server was from my friend after tasting the fish tacos. He told the server, "These are wonderful! The fish is cooked just right". My burger, it was excellent as well. Very juicy and the brioche bun was still soft on the outside, not dried out, that happens at restaurants at times while toasting the bun. All around a 5 star experience. I will be bringing my wife back here. I will make one small mention of the music in the bathroom is a little loud, but then, who wants to stay to long there enjoying the music? read more

Why 5 stars? Because this was one of the better Tex-Mex restaurants I've tried. --- --- --- I say this everything: I don't understand how 400 Tex-Mex per square mile can all thrive here, but this is reality. After one visit to MCM, I think it's definitely in the top 10%. I've probably written a review similar to this one several times in the last few months, which would kind of ruin my point about Mandi being in the top 10%, but I'm general a pretty positive person when it comes to local businesses. I'm not hard to please, and if I enjoyed the food, I see no reason to say that it's not great. And on that note, Mandi was great. As mentioned above, there are approximately 762 Tex-Mex restaurants closer to me than Mandi, so I don't think I'd be back often, but it's good to know that this is here. And I recommended it to my Aunt and Uncle who live much closer. As for what I ordered, I went with what I seemingly order at all of these spots: chips & queso, steak fajitas with rice and refried beans. The food came insanely fast. I do not think five full minutes passed from the time we put it in order until it was on our table. And the first thing I noticed was that the flavor of the meat and the tortillas hit perfectly in line with what I was hoping for.
