The eggs and sausage were good, staff was friendly and food came out fast enough...but pancakes were not at all fluffy, more like crepes and a little raw. Hash browns seemed like they were put on the griddle long enough to get brown on one side but not cooked properly they were raw. And for what we paid for breakfast, it was definitely disappointing. If tomah voted this the best breakfast in town .... Than we are concerned about the well being of our vets.. read more

I've eating breakfast here 3x in the last 6 months and have always had a good experience. Food is really good, staff is nice. Nicely decorated and clean. Food can be a little slow coming out but the interior/vibe is so pleasant a little wait is ok. Also had the stuffed pepper soup to go one time, also very good. read more

Once a mistake, twice a fool. Our second time here, passing through. Ordered a water and asked for a menu, and waited. Walked passed us multiple times ?? Couple seated next to us 5 minutes after, locals for sure, was greeted by another hostess. Bottom line they ordered before us, ate, and left before we were served. I ordered chili and salad, my wife the "special". 35 minutes later wrong bread type ordered, warm at best chili and a small salad. They charged me for a bowl, not the cup I received. We really wanted to support this place and have tried it twice. Food was average to decent but the amount of time to receive orders needs to improve 1st time - 2 burgers to go. 40 min, burger 3.5, fries 2.5 2nd time dine in - 2 egg omelet, chicken wrap and cup of soup. We were the only table to be served (1 group leaving, 2 arrived after us) Drinks (water and orange juice) 25 min, soup 35-40 min, waiting and a different server walked up and asked us if we were waiting for our bill to check out, responded no food yet. Arrived at cafe 12:45, ordered at 12:50, switched door sign to closed at 2pm, got food 2:10. Two other tables received food even later. Omelet was 4/5, wrap 2/5, fries 1/5 - grilled fries this time - some burnt some raw. But if we are the only table an Omelet should not take 1:20. Wanted to support an independent local deli (with no deli counter?) more local cafe but don't recommend unless you are trying to kill a few hours and then be selective what you order. Avoid salad bar. Hope any local place can get better but twice was enough - will not be going back. read more

WOW! We stopped by Mandy's for breakfast on a Sunday and the food was AMAZING!!! The menu has a great selection with good variety. We got the brisket benedict, breakfast burrito, and Sunday's special of biscuits and gravy. Everything was awesome. We can't even pick a favorite because it was all so good. On top of that, service was top notch and extremely friendly. Needless to say, the next time we are in the area we will be back! read more

We found this wonderful place on our way up North the food and the service were both fantastic. I ordered corn beef hash which was a homemade corn beef shredded on top of potatoes. Tons of corn beef, this was served with breakfast tater kegs which is a homemade version of a extra large tater tot made with potato, cheese, sausage, eggs and bacon. My husband had brisket Benny which was an eggs Benedict served on top of a waffle biscuit with brisket hollandaise sauce, eggs small pieces of crispy sweet potatoes drizzled with barbecue sauce he said it was delicious. Our server's name was Sue and she was very friendly and accommodating did not have to ask for coffee once it was continuously full. read more

We went here the day they opened. It seemed like a challenging start for them but they always kept their chins up and made good food at a good price, which made everyone love them from the start. Bit by bit they dressed up the place, and they kept finding new ways to change it up and make more memories for more customers. You can't help but succeed when you run it like that. They really treat you like family. They do parties. They do special dinners. It's a nice place to spend an evening with friends and family. read more

Was in Tomah today and found this cafe in the strip mall across from Walmart. What a fantastic place to stop for breakfast or lunch, certainly glad to find such a great place to eat. The place was very clean, warm and inviting the waitress was pleasant very accommodating when asked if I could order a BLT Wrap instead of a sandwich also the 5 grain rice soup was excellent. My favorite place to eat in Tomah! I found this gem a few months ago and have eaten there many times now! I love their variety of food and they have gluten-free buns for burgers too! The food is GREAT and so is the service! My favorites are the Power Bowl and the Cilantro Lemon Shrimp Wrap! My son in college loves their Philly Cheese Steak. Can't beat the prices either! Great find, in a small strip mall. This was a cute little cafe, decorated for Christmas, and fun find. We both had breakfast, our food was tasteful and our portions were large, I had the eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and toast and my husband had French toast with sausage. Our server, Jacklyn, was friendly, courteous and attentive. We found out she was from CO and had a conversation about our mutual love for the state and favorite places. I saw biscuits and gravy and got excited about that but it's only offered on Sundays. But the corned beef, tater kegs, eggs and sourdough toast made for an excellent meal. Filling and absolutely delicious. They have some gigantic cinnamon rolls but I would have had to roll myself out of there if I let myself get one. Great small town cafe that had the most updated, clean interior in Tomah. The menu was full of new things to try that were better than traditional diner dishes. My first visit to Mandy's was amazing! At 11 am, it seemed like most people were still eating breakfast food. I chose a bowl that had quinoa, spinach, poached eggs, and sausage. It was amazing. The menu selections looked like very fresh foods. They were going to be having a fish fry also later, but what caught my eye was how most of the selections looked like they were not fried/greasy foods. Nourishing foods here. I am giving this place three stars because I don't want to reflect my bad experience with service upon their cook. I travel a lot, and very often rely on Yelp for help to find a decent place for a quick bite. That's how I found this jewel. This is one of those places that looks like a fusion of deli shop, coffee shop and a kitchen without a ventilation hood. So when you leave, you smell like fried food. The waitress was not overly thrilled to greet new customers, her lack of courtesy and body language made it clear. The food itself was mediocre at best. But seems that locals like the place. My problem began when staff could not figure out how to work American Express card through their machine. Sometimes cards with a cheap cannot be read by swiping . After trying a dozen times, which always makes me nervous, they manually punched the number in. And right away it was one of those cases when staff automatically assumes that customer is plotting something Needless to say, card was declined. So like a good customer service does, two workers and one local customer start discussing why is that, being approximately 5 feet from my table. I could hear them saying that normal cards have 16 digits and CVS code doesn't work. I decided to help to rectify misunderstanding. I said American Express cards are typically have 15 digits, also CVS is located on the front and is four digits. To my surprise, they were not convinced, two of them keep giving me doubtful looks. Long story short, this place will not be placed on my make America tasty again map, but could be perfect for the president to hold his next rally. So much distaste for new and unfamiliar. read more
