I had an appointment here with Sye South last week and I have to say that I think this may be my most favorite haircut/color ever. The service is phenomenal, you check in, get a drink of your choice, can browse a bit and then meet with your stylist. Every stylist goes through a lot of training, two years I believe? With the owner himself (and his wife Beata who is awesome). I decided I need to take some weight off my wavy hair, and tone my ends to match my roots more. We went with a cooler dark honey blonde and cut a few inches off and framed my face more. I was a bad yelper and didn't take pictures after Sye styled it, but I promise it is fabulous. It is a bit pricier than other salons, but the quality and the service are so worth it! And I mean... They have bumble and bumble everything. Who doesn't love that? read more

A classy place to get anything done. I've only been here once, but my visit was worth the money. I went in and got my hair washed, cut, and got an updo, and it all came out to be about $120. Not too bad, considering how long it took her to put all of my long thick hair up! First of all, parking is insane there. I had to park almost a block away! Way too many people that can't drive too. Be prepared to fight for a spot! The receptionist was very nice. She introduced me to one of the owners, and gave me a tour of the salon and spa. The service was very nice, she offered me coffee and some condiments which she got for me. She informed me of any specials and gave me a chance to look over their prices. Shannon was the one doing my hair. She was very nice and told me a lot about my hair that I didn't know about. Told me about different products that would help with the specific problems that I had with my hair. She also gave me some hair stylist tips on small things that made a lot of sense. All in all, she made the 2 1/2 hours go by real quick. I was completely satisfied with how she cut and styled my hair and will definitely reschedule. Definitely a place to keep an eye on. I love MAS. I started going to them about 8 years ago after getting a Groupon at the time because they were close to my house and I hated paying someone to cut my hair because they always messed it up. I haven't had to purchase a Groupon for a hair cut or go to another salon since. They always do a great job, I love the atmosphere and everyone is always so friendly. They obviously care about their clients, as well as their staff. Most salons "sell" their spots and are always changing staff, but I see the same faces every time I go in and I love that they make their new staff go through a training process to learn the same basic procedures that are used by everyone. I also love the fun make up, accessories and hair products you are able to buy in the salon. Oh, and don't forget you can enjoy a nice glass of wine with your haircut - or a tea/coffee if you prefer. Was an Aveda Salon gal for a llloonnggg time. I needed something (bumblebumble) and someone new for my hair and started having Khala cut and color my hair - she is the best. Listens to you, with patience and professionalism. She gets to know you and your hair, takes her time every time. All my cuts and colors since going to Khala have been super! Tracy is absolutely AMAZING! I started my hair journey with her about six months ago. I came into the salon with distressed hair - which is quite the understatement - just looking for a trim. After a few months passed and some trust was gained with my stylist, my occasional trim turned into a full-on color correction, and a tough one at that I might add. Years of over processing and then slapping dark colors over top had taken it's toll on my curly hair. I am very lucky to have stumbled across Tracy. She took the time, energy and love to nourish my hair back to life. And most importantly, she listened to what I wanted and my concerns. She has truly transformed the integrity of my hair, all while turning it into the cool-toned color I wanted. I have gone to several salons over the years, all ranging in pricing and specialties, but I always found myself unsatisfied. It is SO hard to find someone who knows how to cut, dye and properly style curly hair. Tracy has gone above and beyond for me and in addition to being brilliant behind the chair, she is such a pleasant character and a true gem to be around. I feel as though this small review doesn't even serve her justice. All I can say is that I highly recommend Tracy for any of your hair needs; she'll take good care of you! 5 Star experience! This is THE place to go for amazing cuts, color, treatments and styles. The staff is wonderful. They make you feel like a friend, not just a 1 o'clock appointment. The main reason to go is for the stylists. They are all amazing! You get the full salon experience. Ice water with lemons are offered to you when you arrive. Mane Attraction Salon is one of the most well known hair salon in Phoenix area and for all this time all my friends are regular customers and recommended it to me. All I can say it; they never desapointed me. I travel a lot and do not have the opportunity to go there as much I would like to but, my friends always keep me informed about what they are up to. I love this salon! I have always been a cheap haircut girl, only going to student salons. Mane Attraction Salon has made me a regular. Wow, the service is amazing. The staff is so well trained. Courtney has gone to classes in NYC on how to cut curly hair! She is the best! I got my hair and makeup done here for my wedding recently. Courtney and I had so much fun during this. Kelly did an amazing job on makeup -- she does the makeup for a pro sports team's cheerleaders so you know she is bomb diggity! Sorry, I'm not a sports person so I don't remember which team!? I should also add that I am a low key - not a high maintenance person. I feel that this salon has what everyone wants. It can be more chill if that is what you are looking for or it can be a little bit fancy pants, giving you wine with your services if that is what you want. She has cut my hair about 5 times since then and I am always happy. She is creative and really gets what is going on with my hair and always suggests styles that really look good on me. I have had my hair colored in the past and the color I have received here with Beate has lasted twice as long as any other color. After 80 haircuts here, I have never had an unpleasant experience at Mane Attraction. Yes, they are on the higher cost side, however the hour plus (with lowlights) is always fun, the owners and staff greet their appreciated clients by name. They have a database (I assume) if your stylist leaves (which is a rarity) their employment, they place you with a professional stylist who they feel will get along with. With the people who complain about the cost, they will tell you their pricest upfront, just ask.If you cannot afford one they will accomodate you with one within your price range.....without looking down on you or snickering. Mane Attraction has it annual do good event (usually in March) to benefit our community with their doggyathon. They also sell/donate wonderful doggy shampoos and conditioners. Had my hair cut at Mane Attraction for the first time yesterday. Best haircut I've had in years. Veronica was my stylist and she did a really nice job. I was way overdue for a haircut and came in with a few photos and a vague idea of the style I wanted. Veronica took the time to figure out exactly what I was looking for and helped me decide which cut would be best for me. It was clear that she knew what she was doing so I kind of just let her do her thing and it turned out perfectly. She was very thorough and really took her time with texturizing and styling at the end. I also liked that she didn't go overboard with the small talk, just focused on what she was doing. I have been back in Phoenix for 3 years now and Ive become a salon whore..out there looking for "the one". Toni & Guy (crapshoot), Carsten (they make you stand up to get your haircut), Atmosphere (if you like the fresh from Japan, anime look), Vidal (LOVE Marc..but my preference is someone who does BOTH cut & color).So in my journey to find a "Marc" that also does color, I turned to Yelp and on Tuesday I gave The Root (see separate review) a shot due to reviews. The color wasnt what I asked and the cut, although good, I wasn't "in love" with it. While I was there I remembered looking through InStyle Magazine seeing a spread on "Top Salons" across the country and the only one mentioned in Phoenix was this one..Mane Attraction. Well the next day I discovered the girl that sits next to me goes there, so I checked out their website and felt extremely confident to give them a shot to add some umph to my new do, after viewing their before & afters... So Friday I booked an appointment with Ashley.. When I walked in I was immediately at ease. Not only was everyone super nice (not fake), I loved everyone's cut. They were all different, unique, fun & sexy, yet not juvenile. I ended up with Ashley who was very nice, and cute.. I pointed out a another stylist in the salon who had a really cute short cut and it was like she wasn't even phased by what it was that I liked. She didn't really ask or speak for that matter. My hair was done in almost complete silence??! I didn't look much different than when i walked in, except for the fact she managed to style me into large roller curls which I will call "texas hair". I wasn't all that excited. The other girls had great cuts and maybe i just got paired with the wrong girl i don't know but I wasn't wowed. She turned me on to Bumble and I took home some spray that made me feel like I had salt in my hair!! Ick..I brought it back and exchanged for Aveda. read more
