I came in asking for a rich brown. Instead, I left with a very noticeable red/orange band across the top of my head that doesn't blend with the rest of my hair. I never asked for red hair, and the result is nothing like what I requested. Before I left the salon, after my hair was styled, I pointed out the banding because I could tell something looked off. I was told it looked fine, so I trusted the stylist's professional judgment. Looking back, I wish my concerns had been taken more seriously. I left for a planned trip to Europe shortly after my appointment, so I wasn't able to come back immediately. However, as soon as I returned, I repeatedly tried contacting my stylist and left multiple messages. I never received a response. When I finally spoke with the salon, I expected them to stand behind their work and correct the color. Instead, I was told I would have to pay again for an all-over color to fix a result that wasn't what I had asked for in the first place. At this point, I'll likely have to go to another salon for a professional color correction. Between what I already paid here and what it will cost to fix, I'm out around $500 or more. If achieving a rich brown on my hair wasn't something they were confident they could do, I wish they had been upfront about that before starting the service. I would have appreciated that honesty far more than ending up with a color I didn't ask for and an expensive correction process.

After getting a really terrible haircut and color, the next morning I researched salons and looked at what felt like a 1000 pictures. It was obvious that Bellagio Salon could handle a serious color correction. I called and said, "I need help, I'm desperate--something horrible has happened to my hair." She said, "I'll squeeze you in." I arrived at a very inviting salon across from the Newport Beach Harbor--such an amazing location. I really didn't have to say much about what I wanted done--it was obvious. Blend the thick white stripes on top of my head and add highlights to the bottom where there were none. Use a toner to warm the strange ashy stripes. Under the stripes was a very strange dark color. Nothing about this hair color made any sense. It was shockingly bad. Mind you, I had a perfect canvas for the first hairstylist. My hair was very long and hadn't been colored in years. It's naturally a lighter brown and gets natural highlights. What I asked for from the stylist who messed up my hair: blunt layers, especially around the crown since it's heavy and weighs down my flat thin hair. What I got: about 7 inches cut (that was fine), but I still had long heavy hair on top. The layers were all on the bottom few inches of my hair! It made zero sense. It was uneven and had these little flippy pieces in the very front. Mahi said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to let you leave with wings." hahaha! I love her. I cannot believe Mahi was able to create a good haircut with the little hair I had left. My hair is at my shoulders now, and it has a style that actually makes sense. She cut the long pieces around my crown so now my hair has body and movement. The white stripes are blended and no longer look so ashy and grey. Mahi took so much time and care with me--it was very meaningful. She also used a lot of her products on me and was very generous. I'm also shocked that my hair is not fried having my hair colored two days on a row. I'm so grateful Mahi uses quality products at her salon. My hair is now soft! A lot softer when I left her salon compared to the day before when I left that other salon. I'm so grateful. Thank you for helping me, thank you for making me feel so safe in your chair. For reference, I have thick, curly hair and requested partial highlights and a haircut (long layers with face-framing pieces). The stylist was a little late, and the first hour of the appointment was spent without any work being done while she figured out how to proceed. Throughout the appointment, there were repeated comments about how much hair I have and how unprepared she was, which made me feel uncomfortable. I was even asked to brush my own hair before the haircut, even though it wasn't tangled, something I've never experienced at another salon. I also overheard her speaking with a coworker about how much I would have to pay. The foiling process took significantly longer than expected, and toward the end, the stylist seemed rushed as it was closing time. After washing and swiftly trimming, my hair was left wet, with only the front pieces blow-dried, making it difficult to see the color result. Once I styled it at home, there was little to no visible change in color, and it did not match what I had asked for. My hair had unnecessary chemicals added without a real result. I was charged $400 for four hours, including an hour when no service was performed. I also wasn't aware they charged by the hour until I arrived (their website lists prices per service). The stylist commented, "I am only going to charge you $400," implying it could have been more. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank, which sided with me, as the service did not reflect the time, cost, or expectations. I reached out to the salon to share my concerns, but they were dismissed without addressing the specific issues I mentioned. I've attached a photo showing my hair immediately after the appointment, mostly wet and unstyled. For comparison, the same service elsewhere took under three hours, costed $300, and produced the expected results with my hair being styled and the customer service being great. I would advise clients with thick and/or curly hair to ask more questions about the stylist's experience, timing, and pricing before booking. Last year, Fatima did my hair and makeup and she was absolutely fantastic! She took such care with my hair and it turned out better than I expected and the makeup was flawless! When I went to book her this year, I discovered she left the salon. I was determined to see her again and was able to hunt her down at her new business! She did not disappoint.
