A disappointing final meal after several gastronomic feasts over the last three days. It started when one of the kids' chicken was served raw. And the server's reaction was " my bad ". And it wasn't removed from the bill. My husband's chicken had more breading than chicken and his potato salad looked like overcooked mashed potato from a box. The rest of the food was ok. What totally skeeved me out was looking up and seeing black mold covering the ac vent and part of the ceiling. They need to shut down, scrub the place and go back to service and cooking lessons. read more

Everything was definitely cooked to order. Asked for my hash browns crispy and they were perfect! Loved that we could order Al's carte at a reasonable price as a couple of us didn't want a huge breakfast. We all substituted one pancake for the toast for just a $1 up charge . Fantastic find. We ate a late lunch after our visit to St Joe State Park. Food was delicious and the service top notch. On this particular day, they offered Strawberry Cake (desserts are made fresh daily) which was an incredible hit with my wife. Pancakes were really big but we had to ask for the bacon. They brought it quick. My western omelet was decent, but hashbrown serving was pretty small. Coffee was good. Once to get our drinks/food order, next to give us our ticket and lastly to cash us out. We sat with no eating utensils for at 10 minutes after our food arrived. The eggs were over cooked. So we sent them back. Then they were under cooked. The sausage gravy was made mostly of sausage with very little gravy. The waiter seemed very preoccupied with something else. My only other critiques is that we weren't offered choices for bread and cheese like you expect at a breakfast spot. I also would have loved some home fries or a Bloody Mary. This review is for Sister's Bistro breakfast. First, I'm thankful that the new owners are offering breakfast, a meal that's been scarce in this area for years. The ambiance is casual and understated. The service is small-town friendly and attentive. Our server actually took the time to run across the street to their sister Mexican restaurant to get me the salsa I requested for my omelette. That's worth a gold star (and extra tip) in my book! The menu is fairly simple, but what they do, they do very well. I enjoyed a very good cup of coffee and an excellent ham & swiss omelette (mushrooms, onions and peppers added without charging extra), old fashioned, crispy grated hash browns and a very good, slightly crispy biscuit. My wife had the biscuits with sausage gravy, which was an awesome meal, as well. I, of course, had to try a little of her sausage gravy on one of my biscuits (for review purposes only). Highly recommended! Everything was seasoned to perfection, without being too salty which can be an issue at some places. We were looking for breakfast yesterday and found Sister's to be open (Yelp had it marked as closed) and we are so glad that we did. I had the Salomon French Toast, it didn't even need syrup. It was so delicious, I called my momma and told her she needed to step her French toast game up! There's this creamy and sweet sauce perfectly placed across with thin slices of strawberries and banana and powdered sugar. It also comes with your choice of meat, I got bacon. My sons ordered pancakes and bacon and my husband ordered an omelet with hashbrowns and toast. He NEVER says omelets are "good", he usually says they're "alright"- I was shocked that he said it was really good. So we're back for another round of the same.
