cute little fountain with seating around, picnic area and relaxing outside

Jeff and Randy were amazing!! Breakfast was also very much perfect. Private area with pool and space to relax, but also feel at home. Like all places, some touch ups will add a little more sparkle. However, it has the perfect charm for the area and keeping the culture.

What a lovely bed and breakfast located in the downtown area of Lake Worth. My husband and I decided to stay here for our anniversary and we are so glad we did. The hospitality, accommodations, and food were wonderful. It's in a quiet area while the restaurants as well as shops are within walking distance of the inn and it's believed to be one of the oldest houses in Lake Worth built in 1915. Brenda the innkeeper did a phenomenal job with welcoming us and showing us around the inn as well as our suite. She explained everything and she gave us her contact information in case we needed her during our stay. There are eleven rooms on the property for guests to choose from and a full breakfast is available to enjoy on the veranda overlooking the pretty pool each morning. When we checked in, we were able to help ourselves to some wine and a snack mix consisting of pretzels and mixed candies. We stayed in the Mango Suite and it was very nice. It resided in the Little House portion of the inn. It has a bedroom with a king bed, bathroom with a whirlpool tub and shower, and a kitchenette along with a living room. We even had our own patio from the suite too. It was so charming and I'm glad we were able to stay here for a short time. The breakfast was simply the bomb. There was several different options and we had a sausage frittata for our entree. The fruit, pastries, breads, granola, yogurt, coffee, and juices were delicious too. We were able to meet some guests that were from out of town visiting the area while being outside on the veranda eating our breakfast. Brenda did an awesome job with preparing everything and cleaning up afterwards. The only thing that we did noticed was that the Wifi wasn't connecting to the internet. The router was reset and it still didn't resolve the problem. It wasn't a big deal to us, but it may be for some if they are on a business trip. Besides that, we loved every minute of our stay and we definitely would recommend the hidden gem! The professionalism as well as the cozy atmosphere did not go unnoticed and we couldn't have asked for anything more.

As soon as you check in, you are then guided to a small fountain pool where you are given a candle (yours to keep when you leave) in which you set an intention for your spa stay, make your wish and then place it in the water to float. I thought this was such a beautiful idea to begin with. I was given a glass of champagne as well. I was guided to a locker where I got my robe and slides to keep. You can set your combination to lock it so your belongings are safe. There is a beauty area with blow dryers, hair ties, Q-tips and other female products are available upon request. Showers are also present. The steam and sauna rooms were incredible. My favorite part was the heated jacuzzi pool with the overhead waterfall that comes rushing down into the jacuzzi. It was activated by a button that you can press on the outside. It was clothing optional in this area. The outdoor spa area is an oasis of beauty. It was raining a bit on the day I came, but they have silver hanging chairs with water beneath your feet, cabanas and waterfalls. It's blissfully calming. I've never experienced anything like it! The treatment waiting area had snacks, tea and water. My massage was tailored to me specifically. I added a foot and hand paraffin treatment. It was extremely relaxing. The hydrafacial was also fantastic. My skin felt so refreshed afterwards. I stayed using the amenities until they closed at 6pm that day. Had an absolutely phenomenal experience and will absolutely return!!!

That said, it's honestly shocking that a resort of this caliber still does not have a working gym. This was really unfortunate, especially since I was traveling with kids and couldn't easily leave the property to take advantage of the outside gyms they offer to cover. For a luxury resort, an on-site gym feels like a basic expectation. Overall, a wonderful stay in many ways, but the lack of a functional gym was a significant disappointment.

He owns a number of apartment complexes for rent via week or month in the area, so call or text & ask for availability. All are fully furnished with new furnishings. The apts are immaculate with every convenience you could want. Pros: * Great, safe, quiet location. * Parking for 5 cars in the back, 3 in the front & convenient on-street parking for the rest. Parking isn't competitive (except in the back, where people tend to park & leave their cars for days without moving them), so you'll always find something within a 1-min walk. * Newly renovated, modern apts. They come fully furnished with all the dishware, silverware, large/small appliances & furniture you could need. * Large appliances: 4 burner stove/oven, full size fridge/freezer, very efficient a/c throughout, ceiling fans in living/bed rooms. * Small appliances: Single cup coffee maker, toaster, blender, m/w. Plenty of pans/pot with lids. * Screaming fast, reliable WiFi, 2 flatscreen TVs utilizing Roku with free Netflix, Amazon Prime & a handful of other services/channels that let you binge watch Sopranos & 100 other shows you may have missed. * Lots of outlets in every room for your electronic devices... none are grounded, so you may want to bring your own surge protector. I travel with 1 in the car. * Walk-in closet, apt stocked with extra bed linens, towels, paper products, cleaners, soaps/shampoos/conditioner. * Full size w/d across the street (1 of each only), available 24/7. I didn't need it while there for 1-wk, so don't know how difficult it is to gain access. $1 a wash, $1.50 to dry. * Ben is very personable, easy going & professional & a pleasure to deal with. He has a lot of tenants in multiple properties, but never seems exasperated by all the work needing to be done. He's always available by text or phone, is very fair with his tenants & his prices are fair... $500/wk give or take, but it's a good deal if you are in transition & don't wish to sign a long term lease or open accounts for utilities, which are all included. Good to know: * You will hear the train running a block away day & night, but I love the sound of the train. If in the bedroom, you can't hear it, so it shouldn't keep you awake or wake you. * This particular complex is on 2 floors, no elevator. Good to know should you need handicap accessible accommodations. If not, keep in mind, he's almost always filled up, so if something is available, jump on it. He offers great accommodations, that are aesthetically pleasing & comfortable, so open units fill up fast & most tenants average a 6-mo stay. * All tenants pay via the Cash Pay app, as it's quick & convenient. A glitch I discovered while there (as I don't use phone apps) is the 1st time you use a new account, you need to pay via your Smartphone... afterwards, you can use your laptop or tablet. In addition, the app is built on an Apple platform, so if you don't have an iPhone, you may occasionally run into glitches... just an FYI. Customer service is available only via app or email, not phone (a pre-recorded msg refers you to their phone app contact form) & my experience is they're not well trained... it took 4-hrs & 3 not very technically savvy employees to just get the above info, which is stunningly absurd. I learned more by spending hours reading their TOS & watching YTube vids on how to utilize the app's features/troubleshooting. As a former software designer, their platform is poorly designed & not entirely user friendly, but once you get your account up & working, you should be fine. * If you drive-by to view the property, don't judge it by the outside, which is a bit weather worn. It was built in 1966, but the inside is fully updated & brand new. Cons: * Just my preference, but the sofa & bed are soft foam. I like firm & they bothered my back. For others, it may not matter. Ben has some very nice places & is a great landlord. You won't regret renting from him. I'd definitely rent with him again. 5* out of 5. Supurb.

The pricing is very reasonable, the air conditioners get icy cold, and I was able to fall asleep easy on the beds. The owner/manager Paul is nice and friendly. I would say that you need to keep your expectations in check because you are not paying fees commensurate to the Breakers. Specifically new patrons would need to understand you are not getting luxury furnishings and the showers are very tiny, so if you are a very big person you may not be very comfortable taking showers at The Barefoot. Few more tips: -There is no continental breakfast here. There is just free coffee. There are a couple decent breakfast places within maybe a mile and a mcdonalds, winn dixie, and publix within walking distance. There are a bunch of pizza places and a few fried chicken places for dinner within short driving distance. -You have to point the air conditioner remote at the air conditioner unit to operate it and they ask you to turn it off when you are leaving the room for extended periods. -If you book for extended periods of time, you may qualify for a discount. -They do give you some travel sized soap and shampoo in the room. -There is a microwave, big refrigerator & freezer, ceiling fan, small hd tv, and wifi. The wifi does disconnect or have trouble connecting frequently, is hard to log into, but once you get it, is serviceable. -Management does try to keep the area quiet. They keep plenty of security cameras going and ask patrons not to make noise overnight. I don't remember the train going overnight. -The doors did not seem super secure because you do not have a key for the deadbolt. If you have something ultra valuable, you may want to keep it on your person if you go out for the day. -They leave an envelope if you want to leave a tip for the housekeeper. -There is a pay washer and dryer on site that the office has quarters for, but there are also a few laundry mats close-by. Specifically, the Laundry Tub on Hypoluxo is great to use.

The online reviews were 8+ on average so that gave us confidence to book sight unseen. Arrived very late and were ushered to our room - ready to collapse after a long day. The place has POTENTIAL to be really cute - which makes it all the sadder that it isn't being maintained how you'd hope. Barefoot should be renamed to Barebones - because our room was very basic upon arrival. I understand it is a 2 star motel but I still expected a minimum of clean / bug free. Immediately after getting to our room, I make a pit stop in the restroom where I see a sugar ant infestation. Here's the thing - sugar ants can happen to any space. That's not the real issue. It's that no one notices when rooms are being "maintained" and therefore it isn't remedied prior to booking that room. We are after midnight at this point so we just climb into bed and call it a night. The next morning I wake up to sugar ants on my phone, which was lying in bed next to me. Ok now I've got the "ick" factor, as ANYONE would. My boyfriend sees some on the kitchen counter as well. We message Michelle who says they will work with the pest control contact and have them go check things out and would "be back in touch". Hours later we call for a status as we decide whether or not to move lodging based on her response. My boyfriend calls and speaks with Michelle who essentially says "housekeeping nor pest control saw any ants" and "aren't sure what else we can do". They tossed some packets of chemicals ON OUR BEDDING, something comparable in the bathroom and considered it solved. We arrive back to the room just before bed (10:30pm) and see the packets on the bed (what's more disgusting? Sleeping with bug killing chemicals or the bugs themselves?), a ton of sugar ants in all the same spots, etc. We've sent videos via text to Michelle explaining we weren't staying. We dropped keys in the drop box outside room #19 and checked into different lodging (which was without issue, I might add). The next morning we get a text saying they were sending someone out again to take care of the issue even though we'd already told them we were checking out and would pay for the one night we actually stayed - obviously expecting a refund for the remaining four nights. After a bit of back and forth, she agreed to refund those nights. Somehow she calculated approximately $36 less than we were owed - even after we showed the original booking amounts, fees, etc. The real coup-de-gras was being accused of stealing one of their "K-mart called for their circa 1991 quality" bath towels and she intended to charge us for it. I can assure you, we wouldn't want the buggy towels you place in your rooms. So while you see positive reviews and a thin veil of charm covering the bugs, rest assured-- you should spend your money on lodging elsewhere.
