What a beautiful and charming bed and breakfast! My stay was amazing! The staff is so lovely and helpful. I am a solo traveler and felt extremely safe. My room was so elegant and extremely clean! My husband and I had a lovely 3 night stay in the carriage house. The room included a balcony overlooking a beautiful courtyard. The location was quiet and safe. It was an easy walk to restaurants and a quick drive to the beach with ample parking. The best part of the experience was meeting and chatting with the other guests at breakfast . Melinda and Sammy offered friendly service and always made sure our needs were met. The daily breakfast was made to order and varied each morning. We had a few minor issues which were managed appropriately. Jack the owner appreciated our concerns and we were assured they would be taken care of in a timely manner. My husband and I stayed here for a mini honeymoon, and we will absolutely be coming back. Melinda and Lilly were both absolute pleasures. The vibe is very quaint, with lots of beautiful antiques. The property is quiet, which lends itself to truly feeling like you're getting away. We stayed in the Michelangelo suite, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The drapes around the bed were so romantic, and it felt so cosy. The bathroom was stunning, the dimmer chandelier was perfect for setting a nice relaxing mood. Breakfast varies each morning, but it was delicious every day. The baked french toast was a favorite between me and my husband. There's tea and cookies at 3pm every day, and they have a great selection of different teas and brands. I would one hundred percent recommend staying at this bed and breakfast, and I have in fact already told multiple people in my life to check it out. read more

This charming and cozy B and B delivered on all points. The Inn keepers were so thoughtful and accommodating to my 87 yard old mom. They even secured us a cane (which we forgot). It's like the movie, "Somewhere In Time" - the most relaxing, happy, tropical vibe you can imagine. There was French music playing when we arrived, fresh flowers everywhere, and even complimentary refreshments, including warm homemade cookies in the afternoon! Yum! I literally spent hours doing something I never do... I sat in the beautiful parlor (complete with a working Victrola!) with the French music playing and read books. Then the next day I did the same thing on the balcony overlooking the golf course and ocean. The last day we had breakfast outside on the covered veranda, and ended up spending the day enjoying the courtyard, listening to music and just enjoying each other. This was the perfect quiet getaway. It felt like we were in another world. The owner is super professional and accommodating. I appreciated that a special needs young man also works there, and he was amazing. I tipped him $40 for his hard work filling our drinks and making sure every detail was attended with a big smile and the warmest heart! He was my favorite part of the whole perfect experience. The breakfasts every day were creative and very tasty! They reminded me so much of my travels in Europe. They took me right there. This is definitely not a continental breakfast place. The owner was there cooking every morning and each morning I felt pampered and transported to another place - hard to describe - but somewhere I wish I always could be. There are live plants and fresh flowers in every corner you see, and this was such a personal, nice touch. The balcony overlooking the golf course and water were perfect! The innkeeper suggested restaurants and even got us into one that was completely booked. Everything was really perfect. The courtyard was my favorite - orchids everywhere and the wild foliage made just sitting and swinging a most relaxing part of the vacation. We walked to the beautiful florida beaches, and virtually any restaurant we wanted. The owner ran us over to a spa appointment at the hotel close by (in an adorable little blue Moke) that charges thousands more per room, per night. All I could do was giggle that I was staying in nicer accommodations for a fraction of what the people in the spa hotel were paying, and I still got to enjoy the spa! So many parts of this beautiful little Inn to enjoy. My only complaint is that we wanted to stay longer but they were booked up. They book up so make your reservations early. I really can't believe I found this little hidden gem of a place and so much more reasonable than many much less personal and less amazing places! We're going back and taking friends this summer! Absolute cute quaint place! We arrived early and allowed us to check in. This is much appreciated - we did not want to leave it luggage in the car in the hot humid Florida weather. There are 8 rooms - we stayed in the Norman Rockwell room and it was decorated from that time. Bed was super comfortable. Our room was located at the front of the house with view of the golf course across the street. They provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash in a wall dispenser. Beach and restaurants close by. In the afternoon they have freshly baked cookies. There is a fridge for guests to access. There you will find energy drinks, sodas, filtered water and ice. You can also use it to put your food. Continental breakfast is at 8-9. Hot breakfast at 9-10. They have board games and DVD you can borrow. My favorite part is the lovely music (French I think) that is played softly in the public areas. After traveling across several states and cities and staying in different hotels this Inn was such an exquisite and delightful upgrade. This Inn is charming with a cozy throw back feeling. The Inn was mostly full during my stay but it didn't feel busy or hectic. It was also nice sitting in the parlor and getting to know some of the other guests over afternoon tea (and cookies!). The breakfast was also very nice, not continental style at all, wonderful baked goods and fresh fruit! The local scene is fun. A very quaint downtown you can easily walk to, but if you wanted more you can drive a few miles and see so much more. The nearby park is also lovely. My fiancé and I stayed here last night. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and we were very impressed! The music playing throughout the house, the coffee and tea set ups available, even a game of checkers available when you walk in. The courtyard in the back is just beautiful, a serene place to spend an afternoon A clean, at-home feeling, Gregory and Angela are warm, hospitable and friendly. Outstanding bed and breakfast--------we've stayed here 3 times while visiting my mom who lives in West Palm Beach. It's just blocks from a very cute downtown strip with lots of shops and restaurants and well located to zip over to the ocean or up and down the coast and around the many surrounding neighborhoods. The Sabal itself is charmingly appointed with cozy furniture, cool drinks in the downstairs refrigerator and decorated sort of grandma style for lack of a better description. Looking out into the back courtyard you might think you were in Savannah or New Orleans with shady places to sit and low hanging greenery everywhere and the rear building which houses a few more rooms. John and Coleen are the perfect hosts------always welcoming, accommodating, with good senses of humor. But they also give you plenty of space to unwind and stretch your legs. On our last 2 visits there was some talk that J & C were interested in selling the Sabal but I guess they haven't found the right buyers or they've had a change of heart....? But they are so much a part of the experience that I'm not sure I would adjust to different owners------in the meantime, give them your business and you will thank me over and over again. read more

STAY AWAY. I recently stayed at the Sabal Palm House B &B, and had a dangerous and frightening experience. I was in Florida for a family emergency and have stayed there several times over the years and enjoyed it but this is the first time under the new ownership. I was supposed to stay 4 nights in a room in the detached "carriage house". I had to run inside to grab something and got locked in my room without my phone. I frantically pounded on the door until the owner and housekeeper finally heard me. The Alexa based phone system in the room didn't work because the internet was out so I couldn't call for help. I was absolutely trapped on the second floor and scared. It took almost 90 minutes of being trapped before a locksmith was able to come and let me out. He said the lock was extremely old. This was a bad experience but the owner's attitude made it worse. I didn't want to stay there one more minute and asked her to refund my last night. She refused. I repeat. STAY AWAY! Response to owner's comments. The owner's response is ridiculous. She knew I was there because my brother was extremely ill in the hospital and I wasn't sure how long I would be staying. Not that that is relevant to anything. Has anyone had a locksmith arrive in 15 minutes?. She said I wouldn't help her get the door open!!!!!. Why would anyone do that???? I was face to face with her through the glass panes trying to get the door open, doing everything I could to get out and did start screaming to get a locksmith to get me out of there. She wouldn't give me my money back then for that night or after I just called there and asked again because her response to my recent note said she would. read more

We're Miami residents that uprooted from New England a couple of years ago and this has been our first real vacation getaway since. From the moment we walked through the front door we were teleported back to New England. John and Colleen are amazingly warm and gracious hosts with a beautiful home, and a fantastically detailed oriented housekeeper. The rooms are themed by artists. We stayed in the Norman Rockwell room over Valentines days. While I normally take pictures of everything, I have to admit that I slacked a bit on this visit. It was hard not to just indulge in the sounds of the bubbling water fountains in their courtyard, or melt away in my comfy bathrobe as I sipped their delicious afternoon tea and freshly baked snacks. Given its proximity to many neighboring attractions as well as the thoroughness of the service that they offer they are very reasonably priced. With your stay you'll enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast on a beautifully decorated table in the location you find most appealing, inside or out in their courtyard. If you are in a rush, coffee is promptly ready when you wake and a selection of fresh fruit, juice, hot teas, and pastries were always available. More pastries magically appear around tea time in the afternoon along with fresh brewed tea. My fiance (he proposed while we were there) surprised me with their valentine's day romance package option which included champagne, roses, chocolate covered strawberries (made by Colleen), and rose petals on the bed. I've never posted a review on Yelp but I feel this one needs to be recognized. The Sabal Palm House is a hidden treasure in the Palm Beach/lake Worth area. It was highly recommended by friends. So we took a chance. We were so pleasantly surprised. The place was beautiful, warm and immaculate. The courtyard was splendid, with charming gardens and flowers. Home cooked breakfast is served in the courtyard each morning. It is served by a very lovely Colleen and cooked by John and Colleen. Tea time at three with different goodies baked by Colleen every day. John and Colleen are the inn keepers. They are warm and friendly. They go above and beyond to make their guests at home and comfortable. The room was clean and spacious and perfect for our needs. I would give them more than five stars if I could. I'd never stayed in a bed and breakfast before and decided to while traveling solo to my best friend's wedding. I was surprised by how much I liked it. The owners were so nice and accommodating. The room was quaint, clean, and the bed was so comfortable I had no trouble sleeping - something rare for me when I travel alone. Breakfast was served around 9 which was perfect for my schedule, but owner John said I could have it earlier if I liked. I enjoyed coffee on the balcony every morning. My wife and I were getting away without kids for the first time in a while and were interested in something more intimate than a hotel. My wife found the Sabal Palm House and we were extremely happy with our choice. The owners, John and Colleen, are very friendly and gracious and maintain a very warm and comfortable B & B. We stayed in the room which was attractively decorated and quiet. We had a small balcony on which we sat in the mornings with coffee and excellent scones or other baked goods Colleen made each morning. She also made delicious breakfast served at 9 am so you can choose either something light or more filling or both. In the afternoon, Colleen would leave out cookies and tea. Well decorated and comfy furniture, inside and outside. Great location too. Convenient to downtown with lots of restaurants in a short walking distance. Close to the beach. Yummy breakfast, although I learned turkey bacon is not for me ! The tea and treats through out each day were tasty and wonderful...not a slice of turkey bacon in sight.... Your only as good as your customer service and what I've gathered from my short experience with John and his business is selfish and greedy with no disregard for the customer. I booked a reservation for 4th of July 2014 on June 23 and due to circumstances beyond my control in my personal life I had to cancel the next day. So with a canceled reservation less then 2 days old I was charged $199.00 cancellation fee do to the business policy. When asked to return the fee for such a short time since the reservation was made the owner declined. So be careful when dealing with this business who knows what other policies he has that can cost you. read more

This is a wonderful place to stay, it's quaint, quiet, and very appealing. Upon entering it's like going back decades, back to my grandparents home. The owners are very accommodating, even to the extent of having homemade cookies out for everyone. The rooms all hearken back to a bygone era. I would have guessed we stepped back to the thirties or forties except for the flat screen TV in the room. The room amenities are modern, i.e. a/c, entertainment, bathroom but the ambiance is old world. The parlor is very comfortable and there is a very nice little outdoor sitting area between the two buildings which makes a great place to relax. It's and a few blocks from the center of Lake Worth with plenty of restaurants and drinking establishments and less than a mile from the beach. Sabal Palm House B&B looks pretty in the pictures, but the reality is that this is a run down house. The paint is peeling and there are gaps in the window frames, which makes us wonder how interested in protecting their investment the owners are. Worse, when we arrived at the planned time (early, because it was a holiday and that was most convenient for us and for the owners), the first words out of the proprietor's mouth were "Oh, we're serving breakfast but you're not entitled to it." No doubt he was referring to his and his wife's policy of providing breakfast on the morning after guests' stay. Frankly, we weren't interested in breakfast, but what kind of way is that to greet guests? Then the following mornings when we were "entitled" to partake of the breakfast they bill as such a gourmet event, we were very disappointed in the fare. It was so heavy and repetitive that I could only eat a little bit; my wife ate virtually nothing. The one positive thing is that there were some cookies out in the afternoon and evening. Not that they were so great, but it was nice to know you could have a little nibble if you wanted. read more

We enjoyed our stay at Sabal Palm House. Our hosts were gracious, the breakfasts were tasty and we enjoyed the afternoon tea which featured Colleen's homemade baked goods. Our rooms were exceptionally clean and we felt pampered and relaxed. The location is great as you can walk to the beach in the morning and drive to West Palm Beach easily.
