Pick your fresh whole fish, they will scale it, clean, cut to steak pieces, and deep fry it for about 3 minutes. No charge for the frying. Take it to the open food court, and enjoy. I bought a whole tilapia, 1.65 lb. Walked out with 5 fish steak pieces, deep fried and seasoned, for $7.63 ($2.69/lb). See photo, attached. Produce department is huge, too. Busy parking lot indicates its popularity, although there is always parking spot available. Check it out, and you will be happy you did.

I had no idea what the items on the menu were, other than samosas, so I asked the lady to choose something for me. She was very friendly, and asked what my spice preference was. She ended up making me some Aloo Tikki Chaat, and it was very good. She told me I could try another kind next time, and I agreed I would certainly come back! They are reorganizing the store right now, so many of the products were stacked in carts, but another girl helped me find some shaving cream. Unfortunately they were out of Old Spice, but she found some Dettol cream, so I got it, as I have read good reviews for it. Great price. I ended up also getting some rose water for my wife, and a couple of packs of cookies. If I had more time I would have looked around more, but I honestly had no idea what many of the products were. To answer some of the negative reviews; they did seem to have a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. In fact, most of the people in the store were stocking up on veggies. Maybe they go pretty quickly? And everyone I spoke to spoke English well enough. They were all friendly and helpful. Not too quick to smile, but I think that's just a cultural thing. Nobody was rude. I'll definitely come back here for more chaat, and some ghee and other things I recognized. I might even learn to make some Indian dishes!

My absolute favorite grocery store in DFW. It's a higher end grocery store but do feels down to…read moreearth with affordable prices. The things that are more expensive you truly feel like they are good quality and a decent value. They have a lot of produce that you wouldn't see anywhere else. The bakery is legit and has awesome cakes and breads. Snacks and dried goods imported from all over the world. They have a really nice selection of flowers that they'll beautifully wrap up for you. Plus the cafe has really good food. We always get pizza and it's great quality for a great price. They also have a playground for little ones. Shopping at Central Market is truly a one of a kind experience and I always leave feeling excited about the new and unique things they have. They frequently have special events and themes too. I remember a few years ago they did one on Portugal and had a bunch of imported Portuguese items and they made Portuguese bread and pastries in the bakery. It was amazing.

Once you walk in, it is kind of sensory overload. There is a "food court" right up front with several options. Hamburgers, tacos, pizza, sandwiches, sushi, gelato, and more. Plenty to choose from. I also went back to the bakery and checked out their assorted baked goods. I was underwhelmed. They looked phenomenal but they were average size, etc. But the prices were outrageous. More expensive that San Diego prices which kind of surprised me. I ended up getting a hamburger. The chef was very nice, friendly, made me laugh. He built me a fantastic bleu bonnet burger. It was tasty, flavorful, filling. It was cooked a little more than I would normally want, but still yummy. the Brioche Bun was good, but did fall apart a little bit. Maybe warming it on the grill had something to do with that. I went with a combo that included a drink cup for the help yourself drink station. The drink station had interesting flavors I have never seen before, and some old standards like coke, diet coke, sprite. The combo also included crinkle cut fries. They were warm, golden brown, delicious but they were a little overdone. Definitely needed some ketchup to help eat them. The staff at the checkout lines were smiling, laughing, friendly, and when they had to check out one of their coworkers, you could see the strong camaraderie amongst the employees.
