Stopped in for a late breakfast on our week-long journey up/down the Keys. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits; wife had the Kitchen Sink omellete. Both were excellent and both were very large. Staying next door for a few days on the Keys. We really wanted to enjoy this place. While our food was overall just fine, the review is more reflective of the service received, or lack thereof. We showed up around 10 AM yesterday (Saturday) to find the restaurant very busy. No problem. We realized we were not sure if we would have time to be seated and eat, as we had a tour booked later that morning. We asked the young lady at the hostess table if we might place an order to go. We were referred to the bar area, but on our way there were accosted by another lady (clearly the one in charge) who told us we needed to go place the order back at the hostess stand, as they were too busy for us to be crowding up at the bar area. As we were looking over the menu and trying to place an order with the hostess, the lady in charge came back over and told us that just one person should stand in place the order, because we needed to keep the area clear. We placed our order for 3 items and proceeded to wait. Given how busy the restaurant was, we were told we would receive our order in about 15 to 20 minutes, which was fine. No issues with that. While we were waiting, however, we noticed the lady in charge continuing to bustle around and the observation is this: on a busy morning, you want someone in charge up front who is going to diffuse with a calming presence and make everyone feel welcomed. It dramatically worsens the atmosphere if that person is unfriendly and foreboding. It felt like we were all in her way. People scolded for being in the aisle, and leaning on displays, etc. Not us...we had learned our lesson from standing at the hostess table and trying to place an order. We circulated the merchandise area and read the articles on the walls. We got our food in the promised time frame and departed. We noticed as we got to our car that we were missing 1 of our 3 items (a yogurt bowl). Back in we went to inquire, at this point with a greater sense of urgency, as now we were pushing the limits of our time. Neither the hostess nor the lady in charge apologized for the oversight - it felt like we were once again interrupting the flow of chaos at the front. As the hostess returned with our item quickly, I assume it was left out of the bag accidentally. Once again, we departed. Food was fine - not expecting anything special for our order. Beyond the yogurt bowl, had a quesadilla and an omelette. We noticed later that the extra item (cheese) requested for our omelette was left out - a shame and disappointment. All in all, given the stress passed on by the team at the front, and the lack of attentiveness and ability to deliver on a simple order, I would not recommend coming...especially not on a busy day. Paige, Asher, giving you 2-stars instead of 1, as you are just taking over here (mentioned I had 20 mins to read the walls). I would focus less on menu updates and more on experience. Nice little local spot with some filling food options. I chose the gravy tater tot tower and it was HUGE! My wife had the Zucchini bread French toast. The menu is not too large to overwhelm and not too crazy. The service was fast and so was seating. Great coffee and nice waitress. read more

There is a reason this cafe is packed and has a little bit of a wait. Totally worth it! Each plate was a mountain of food and very tasty as well. Quite a variety on the menu for everyones likes. We ordered the kitchen sink omlet and mangrove oscar with blue crab. The omlet was huge and packed of veggies an potato with a side of hash browns. The mangrove oacar had big portions of blue crab meat on top of sunny side up eggs as I like them, sauteed slinach, and a crisp toasted english muffin under it all. Our waitress was quick and attentive. The manager seemed on top of everything as he walked the resturant making sure all patrons were good. read more

We stopped here for Sunday Breakfast and we're not disappointed. The servers were great and really attentive even though they were super busy. The food was awesome and the portions sizes are incredible! WE waited a while for our food because they were so busy, but our server, McKenzie, continued to check on us while we waited. Thanks for the response. We asked to be moved from under the vent and the cold metal chairs. It was suggested that we go outside to warm up until our order was ready. There were other tables open we could have been moved to. They also suggested I buy a souvenir with long sleeves to keep us warm. I love this place. We came here 2 mornings in a row because I love the breakfast here. Each time I ordered the lobster benedict, which is flavorful, delicious, and inexpensive (and so many times better than the same thing at another breakfast spot in Key West). The lobster was tender and plentiful, and I appreciated that it wasn't overcooked. My husband got the French toast sampler. It's amazing how many different bread types were available for the French toast. The banana bread and pumpkin bread French toast felt like eating a crispy cake. It was delicious but too sweet for me. My husband loved it and ate the whole platter. We also tried the tater tot tower. It was huge! Probably too much potato compared to the amount of protein in the tower. I wouldn't recommend it unless you really love eating tons of tater tots. read more
