I would give this place zero stars if I could. The bagels and rolls are so terribly thin yet they charge so much. I ordered a bacon egg cheese on a roll and another on a bagel. When I opened the foil I was wondering where the roll was and if they made a mistake. Nope. There was the thinnest piece of egg on both and barely any bacon. On top of that my sandwich had hair cooked into the egg!!! This is so absolutely disgusting, how inept these people have to be to provide this type of food to someone paying almost $8-9 for a sandwich that barely had anything on it and a almost nonexistent roll. I sometimes stop here in the morning before heading to the office for breakfast. Staff is friendly. The service is usually pretty quick. I have been a loyal GrubHub user for many years but I have decided to discontinue my support for the lack of accountability on both GrubHub and the restaurant at which I placed my order, Manhattan Bagels on 709 Broadway Ave. Bayonne, NJ. I had placed an order for bagels and coffee at 11am, with an estimated delivery time of 11:56am-12:06pm. Reasonable, considering it's not the closest and there is also a $5 delivery charge. I have always been quite forgiving if the order is delivered a little later than expected because sometimes the roads aren't as forgiving. At 12:30pm, I decided to give Manhattan Bagels a call to see what the status of my order was and they said that they would find out. At 1pm, still no food and no call. At 1pm, I call the establishment again. This time, it appears I am speaking to the manager and he is shocked that I'm calling about a GrubHub order since that order "left a long time ago". At this point, he tells me he will contact the driver. The manager calls me back at 1:05pm and tells me the driver left the food at the front desk and is still surprised he didn't call me. He says that the onus is on GrubHub because he doesn't have his own delivery. I go down and see that my food is there. So, I ask my security guard when this was delivered and in shock, she tells me that she asked him if he called me (he replied yes) and she even offered to grant him access to deliver it to my door. He refused claiming that he didn't have parking. I receive a call from a wireless caller at 1:09pm (the delivery guy) and ask him why he didn't call because even on the GrubHub app, it doesn't say "delivered". He said he didn't work for GrubHub and that he worked for an independent delivery service and that it's not his fault. So, he doesn't take responsibility. Manhattan bagels doesn't take responsibility. My next step is to contact GrubHub. After a brief chat with an online representative, they offered a 10% discount. I asked for a full refund and for the deliver guy's tip to be rescinded, but they said because it was delivered, that's what they could offer. Horrible. I will no longer order from this location because they do not take any responsibility for customer care. The same goes for any delivery service that is used by the establishment. read more

This is a pretty good chain bagel place. I tend to avoid chains, coming from Bayonne I've grown up spoiled by Broadway Bagels, but this place has great service (the owner who makes he food is super friendly and fast!), strong coffee (never watered down!), and delish bagels with the food customization and memory of a small business bagel shop (I tend to customize my breakfast sandwiches and they remember my order, which is awesome). When I called the company to address the issue, I was told that it's Uber eats fault and the young lady that I was on the phone with told me she has never been told that she missed putting an item in a bag before. If you want to spend over three dollars for a bagel that looks like it's been stepped on with a lick of cream cheese, Manhattan Bagel is the place to order. Came in at 9 and everything was cold. That's a sign of a place that needs to cut costs. As a place that has only been open for less than half a year, there should be more regulars forcing them to bake more bagels after their first rush. I want to like this place. For the most part, I've had positive experiences here. The staff I've dealt with have been friendly and efficient and the bagels are pretty good (but not great). Unfortunately, while a number of the problems that were present at launch and noted in other reviews have been rectified, others haven't. The ordering process is still a mess when there are a lot of people (just want a coffee? Wait behind the bagel people, or maybe not? *shrugs*). The coffee itself is only average, and even the expresso drinks, one of the things I was excited about since there aren't a whole lot of places to get those in town, don't especially stand out. I continue to come because I'm still getting a pretty decent breakfast sandwich with a smile. That said, the fact that it's on my way to work and that I was one of the lucky ones to get the "breakfast for a year" promotion at their grand opening don't hurt either. I hope that they'll continue to improve. Had a terrible delivery experience with this restaurant and will never order from them again. I ordered 2 hot sandwiches, the pastrami melt and a BLT, with macaroni salad, and the driver arrive 40 munutes past the estimated time on GrubHub. When we opened the boxes, the sandwiches were cold and both macaroni salads were missing. Terrible! I ordered a croissant with cheese and bacon. The croissant was not toasted, bacon was room temperature and the cheese given was Kraft Alice cheese and unmelted.
