They were very dense and sort of dry with not especially crispy outside. they remind me of Lender's frozen bagels. i guess some people prefer this but If your taste goes more to soft and light inside with crispy outside this is not for you. As a point of reference, I prefer Brooklyn Bagels or Alfa Bafels, which are both nearby on rt 10 in Randolph. I also picked up a container of Manhattan Bagel brand vegetable cream cheese which was disappointingly subpar. the product was a uniform pink color with no visible pieces of vegetables and no distinct vegetable flavor. it was $6.50 for 6 ounces, which is what you would expect to pay for a good quality deli made real cream cheese with actual vegetables but this was definitely supermarket style packaged spread like Kraft for which you'd expect to pay about $3.50 in shoprite read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a quick breakfast before heading out for the day and we came across Manhattan Bagel. We both decided to try 2 croissant sandwiches: the chicken salad and the spinach, bacon, egg and cheese. They both tasted great. I think the spinach one was better, simply because it was a warm sandwich and had a good flavored sauce on it. The portion size was good, we were both full but not too stuffed. I went there around 9 am, and most of their bagels were sold. I would recommend going early to pick from a large variety. However, I love everything bagels, and I bought that with two unique cream cheeses. First, everything bagels were fresh, soft, and extremely light. Unlike bagels from Dunkin Donuts or Panera Bread, the bagels did not harden after an hour. The everything seasoning was perfectly sprinkled evenly throughout the bagel. The two cream cheeses were packed within the bagel and made in house. Both were creamy, flavorful, and had a smooth texture. An excellent bagel shop! Not really a morning person (especially on the weekends) so good thing they have breakfast all day here. Came in this Saturday afternoon and went with a steak, egg white, and cheese on an onion bagel. Service was great, very friendly and quick; great if you're squeezing in a quick breakfast pit stop before work. Steak was nice and tender, fluffy egg whites, just the right amount of salt and pepper, a few thin slices of red onion in between, and topped off with melted cheese. All around great taste, perfect combo. Only thing I found odd was that it was served to me on a styrofoam plate and then I look around me and everyone else has a nice little basket they were served on. The Totowa location is relatively new, about 1 year old-ish. The interior of the store is well lit, clean and has plenty of seating. The walls are decorated with a neat city scape painting; it gives the store a cool cafe feel. The store also has a big screen TV which is a nice touch; especially if you want to check out the traffic report while getting your morning cup of coffee. The staff are very friendly, and deliver fast service. The bagels are delicious. Manhattan Bagel offers a variety of bagels that are the perfect consistency; not too doughy with the right amount of seasonings. My favorites are the multigrain everything bagel and the Asiago cheese bagel. Also, I am convinced that the staff of Manhattan Bagel have phD's in bagel toasting. The bagel always comes out crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside! There are plenty of cream cheeses to select from. I recommend the scallion cream cheese or the honey and almond cream cheese. Both cream cheeses are whipped, smooth and delicious! Manhattan Bagel has a huge coffee bar. Their coffee is fresh brewed and tasty. They also offer frozen drinks, but I have yet to try any. For a caffeine fix and delicious bagels Manhattan Bagel is a solid choice! read more

Manhattan Bagel makes awesome breakfast sandwiches. I have been dining here since they opened in 2013. The egg sandwiches are great either fried or scrambled. The bagels are always soft and fresh. The quality of the food is great. I also have a soft spot for their lunch sandwiches. The tuna salad and chicken salad are favorites in my household. I really like their macaroni salad too. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but I'm willing to spend the extra money for the quality of the food and the exceptional service of the staff. For a while, my husband and I were getting breakfast here weekly. The staff knew us as regulars and even remembered my name. I actually was shopping at Willowbrook Mall and ran into one of the employees with his family and he was just as friendly as in Manhattan Bagel. Spacious seating if you want to eat in. And great for take out. If you order and take a seat. They will bring your food to your table I opted for a Saugage, egg and cheese with salt, pepper ketchup on a toasted croissant. Loved the freshness of the croissant. Probably one of the worst bagel places I've ever been to. Every time I get a croissant to go, they cut it in half and place each half on top of each other. They can't leave the sandwich side by side like it's supposed to be. So the halves end up getting squished and I have a smushed sandwich when I open it. Don't ever put halves on top of each other!! I also ask for no salt and pepper every time. Guess what, they drown it in pepper....on the croissant....on the chicken salad or eggs. To the point where a pregnant person (me) can't eat it. I placed a simple (1 sandwich & 1 drink) order at 8:24am thru their online server named ChowNow. I was told via email that it would be ready by 8:44am. I arrived at 8:42am and gave my name but my order couldn't be found. The cashier went in & out the back room I guess to talk to the manager to ask what she should do. I was pressed with time so I asked if my order wasn't being worked on to please cancel it. She asked the cook and he said he hadn't began working on my order. I told her to please cancel & refund my order. She told me that I needed to call ChowNow to do that so I asked her how was I supposed to do that with no proof of not having received me order? She was confused because she didn't know what to reply. She went to the back to get the manager. He came and told me to wait 2 minutes for my order. I said I have no time please cancel the order. He said "ChowNow" isn't our system so I don't know what to tell you all while punching button on a ChowNow iPad. He wanted to blame ChowNow for the tardiness of my order. Mind you all food order iPad systems ring / buzz / send an alert when an order comes in. He didn't apologize either he was more annoyed that he had to come show his employee how to cancel order they can't fulfill on time. They tried to give me the coffee after I cancelled the order but I refused it because I didn't pay for it and he got upset and rolled his eyes at me. I would never take anything I didn't pay for. Never visiting this place again. Oh and there is no type of adherence to the 25% indoor dining capacity. They have all tables accesible to diners. read more
