Got a plain bagel with bacon, egg and cheese to eat while I waited for my dog to finish her grooming!!! As soon as you walk in you smell all that goodness in the air. Staff was busy with lots of orders. But they got to me quickly. They were friendly. Place was spacious and clean. They even had turkey bacon, most places don't even carry it so that was a plus too. I looked through some of the reviews with people complaining about price and food not good but I was suprised at how good my bacon egg and cheese sandwich was. Today I stopped in for a bagel with vegetable cream cheese. It was the worst bagel I ever had and the veggie cream cheese was terrible. It was a poppy seed bagel with very little poppy seeds on it. There's few things I enjoy more than a pleasant surprise. On our way to meet our accountant in Verona, my wife and I wanted to stop for bagels in the area. Taking to the trusty Yelp, I found Hot Bagels N More. At a 3.5 star rating, I pretty much expected your typical NJ bagel mediocrity. But to my surprise, HBNM definitely proved to be an above average experience. First off, the bagels are crispy on the outside, but light and fluffy on the inside. That's the way I like it. You don't feel like you ate a bowling ball after eating a bagel here. And the everything bagels are perfectly seasoned on both sides of the bagel. (Don't get me started on bagels that only have stuff on one side.) My sausage, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich was pretty much perfect as far as these standard issue items go. My wife ordered a sesame bagel and got talked into upgrading from plain cream cheese to their veggie cream cheese -- and boy, was she happy she did. The second measure of a great bagel joint is their cream cheese, and more specifically, their veggie cream cheese. My wife and I love a light, airy whipped cream cheese (think Temptee). And we love when a veggie cream cheese has lots of actual veggie chunks in it. Well, check and check here at HBNM. It is delicious. The third measure of a great bagel joint is the service, and the service here at HBNM could not be more friendly and accommodating. Just place your order, sit down, wait for them to bring it out, and pay when you're all done. As far as bagel places go, Hot Bagels N More just goes that extra little distance to stand out from the pack. All in all, a great find. If you're in the area, give them a try. read more

This place is a rip off. A RIP OFF. I don't know how 3 bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwiches and 3 juices came to almost 29 bucks. I was in a rush so I didn't even ask the guy why is my total so high. I was told 27'and some change and then they charge my card 28 and some change, and unfortunately I never got a receipt to dispute the card charge. Eh whatever, the best way to pay back businesses that are rip offs like this, is to just never ever go back and to just word of mouth warn people about them. So its ok. As long as nobody I know goes here its fine. I will not step foot in here again. No wonder they don't have prices listed next to their menu items. Bc they make it up as they go along for each patron. We go to the gym within the same strip mall but will drive over on a weekend past multiple bagel places just for theirs. The bagels are delicious, as are the cream cheese spreads. The sandwiches for lunch are huge and very well priced - they also give pickle and a side salad no extra charge. The counter staff is usually older teens and young 20-something but they are exceptionally nice and actually give me some hope that not all kids their age are rude and unwilling to work hard!! I was very pleased that the person taking my order put gloves on prior to touching the food. Problem: she put gloves on and touched the raw Taylor Ham and then with the same gloves reached into bagel bin and took out my three bagels. OMG! You can keep your food poisoning and bagels. The last straw was getting a sandwich with "hash browns" and they throw a frozen McDonalds-like disc in the fryer. They have 5 people behind the counter and they can't cut up some potatoes. Also, an egg-sandwich with bacon "and hash browns" with an iced-coffee cost $9.57. If I wanted crap food, I'd go to Burger King closer to my house and pay half the price... We stopped going there. We spent about $20-25 there EVERY Saturday or Sunday...3 or 4 sandwich, drinks etc.. They charge me 25 cents for each credit card transaction..."take that for buying lots of food from us!"...real nickel & dime place, not customary. I would give this place zero if I could. Way to slow orders wrong and inability to make grilled chicken without it being a big problem. Get it off the menu then. I would not have gone here so much if it was not so close but we now drive out of our way to avoid this place. Can't wait for a management change. I really like this place and miss coming here! I used to frequent this deli when I lived in Verona! The food is good and the service is even better! I made friends with nearly every person working here and they always treat me well! The owner, named Alex, is a really nice guy and seems to take pride in the business and keep everyone's work morale at a high! As far as food goes, definite try the breakfast burrito!! My only constructive criticism I have for the place is that I believe they should adopt the Jersey-famous Sloppy Joe sandwich to the menu. I go here almost every day for my coffee. Sometimes I'll get a turkey sandwich or a bacon egg and cheese. All of the people that work there are really nice, the food is good, they use good quality meats on their sandwiches. This is a good option for those wanting a sandwich and not looking to spend too much at Kings Supermarket next door (what a rip-off). There really aren't too many sandwich places in the area (Subway just opened down the street), so this place hits the spot when you aren't sure what you want. They have a deli counter where they slice Boar's Head cold cuts and cheeses for sandwiches. They also have what looks like very fresh pasta salads. Their menu is quite extensive. They have great lunch time specials. I have eaten wraps here in addition to my usual taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a toasted everything bagel. All very good. The service is very fast, but the guys just aren't always customer friendly (maybe its because they are up so early to make bagels). read more

I have been going to this bagel spot for ages. Looks like recently they changed ownership. Young rude staff, prices not posted like before. I paid $15 for an mediocre omelette this morning which is double what the old owner used to charge. On top of that they had big signs posted that credit cards wouldn't be any longer accepted after March 15th, 2018. My advice to you is to clean up the attitude, accept credit cards and post honest prices because if you don't you will be out of business. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Usually my go to bagel spot for delivery in the area. Recently things have been off, maybe new management or just growing poor attitudes.... I placed an order today for delivery and was missing an item, when I called to ask for a refund for the one item I was told that I was "lying" and that everything was put in the bag multiple times. I've never had an issue with this store until today and this blindsided me. I was in there this past weekend after my daughters gymnastics! We are in every Saturday, but I will bring my business elsewhere. We ordered 4 sandwiches 2 were breakfast sandwiches, one a lunch item and one just a bagel. I have a Verona discount card where you can get 50% off one breakfast sandwich if one is purchased. It doesn't specify it has to be the same. They didn't give me the discount because one wasn't exactly the same, but it was still a breakfast sandwich. They said it had to be the same exact one. It's not what is on the discount card. I asked if the girl was sure and she asked one of her co workers and they said yes. I said I don't believe that is right. So, I will go elsewhere even though I live 2 streets down and will tell everyone I know how dishonest they are. read more
