I've been a client at this location for about 7 years and they are generally courteous, but today SANJAY was really one of those kind, authentic customer service persons who really have the client have a great experience - even when the situation was potentially upsetting for client and business. Why? : I was already upset when I called - not at Manhattan Mini Storage (MMS) - but my banking institution - and SANJAY handled it all cool, relaxed and at ease! What happened? : My bank card had blocked my auto payment to their company (MMS) monthly auto Easy Pay due to a previous fraud alert to my bank card - and so the auto pay was not authorized - and SANJAY handled it with grace and ease and really understood my situation was not a lack of funds but a timing problem due to the temporary fraud alert - for my benefit protecting my bank card by my bank institution. The Result: SANJAY was awesome, put me at ease and told me to call her back when the account was unblocked! That allowed me to relax get the bank business handled quickly and then let SANJAY know they could process the payment immediately! We was all resolved easily and quickly thanks to SANJAY! Thanks SANJAY - and MMS for hiring such a great customer service representative! Note to Universe: Now if only other companies will choose, train, develop and empower their employees with such qualities that make doing business with them a great experience! I did not think it would work out. I called MMS to see if they could do a small office move into storage for me later in the week. The very pleasant gentleman on the phone told me they were booked but that there was one slot open that very same afternoon! I would have to have my things packed and ready to go in a few hours or else wait until the following week. But I had to be out of my office in three days! Fast forward to my office, where the two movers very efficiently got my stuff down to the truck and loaded up, as I was finishing packing! I met them at MMS on 43rd, where Tom, the manager, expedited my process so that I would not get charged for overtime. He could not have been nicer!! I did the paperwork and he led me up to the unit, where the guys then loaded everything in and managed to fit it all! The process was seamless and pain-free! And Tom was smiling the whole time. In addition, Ashley is the loveliest employee ever! I had several opportunities to interact with her both on the phone and in-person. On all occasions, she was super friendly, professional, and knowledgable. And has a beautiful smile! I was able to observe her with other customers, as well. She consistently exhibited the same lovely qualities with everyone. All in all, I highly recommend this location of MMS. They deliver on their promises! read more

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Manhattan Mini Storage I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Stirage, and I must say it was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I was met with a complete lack of professionalism and courtesy. The staff seemed disinterested in helping and were shockingly impolite. Not only did I receive incorrect information about the storage options available, but the individual assisting me was also incredibly rude. It's disheartening to encounter such poor customer service, especially when seeking assistance for something as important as storage. Thankfully, I decided to give them a second chance by calling their customer service line. To my surprise, I received accurate information and a level of courtesy that was worlds apart from my in-person experience. It begs the question of why such a stark contrast exists between their in-person and telephone customer service. In the end, it's evident that Storage needs to seriously reevaluate their on-site staff training and overall customer service approach. No one should have to endure such a negative encounter when seeking assistance or services. I have had NUMEROUS bad experiences working with moving and storage facility companies since I moved to NYC 10 years ago, but I must say yesterday I was extremely surprised by the OUTSTANDING level of customer service, attention, dedication to their positions, and willingness to surpass my expectations that I received from two MMS employees at the 43rd/11th Avenue location, Jyoti Sehgal and Tressan Allen Martin. I almost feel obligated to single them out by name as their professional attitudes, willingness to accommodate my challenging situation, and overall kindness almost knocked me off my feat. if ANYONE needs to use a storage facility I most highly recommend meeting with these two young women. They spent ample time with me reviewing all my options, gave me outstanding customer service when it came to pricing and flexibility, were totally open and willing to listen to my fears and past issues, as well as accommodate and do everything in their power to make my experience as easy, painless and hassle-free as possible!!! It is kind of a depressed experience. I missed the storage taxi because I did not receive any phone call from Storage taxi.(Because carrier's problem,I fail to receive the call). After I found that the car has already gone, I talked with the person in the front desk and showed him my phone that I did not receive any phone calls. I also called to storage taxi number to explain it.They just said that they had call me three times （but I did not receive any phone call or voice mail) and the storage taxi schedule was full and what I could do is move my stuff back to the storage room. At that time, I had already moved nearly 20 boxes stuff out of my storage room by myself. It is not only tired to move back but also wasted my time. At that time I really felt regret that I heard my friend's advice to change original mini storage to Manhattan one. I really felt grateful for the shuttle driver Luis M Amaro. Although his schedule was full,he is willing to use the gap time between last and next customer to help me move my stuff back to my room. Asking me to move my stuff back and forth is really unreasonable and what Luis did in the afternoon really make me feel warm and customer care. My friends new place fell through & he turned to manhattan mini storage for help.? I helped him through the on line check in but we had no idea what to really expect until we got him to the storage building.? We walked in (very busy-lines of people & trucks outside) but were surprised with how friendly & fast the staff were working.? In my line of work, how you treat your customers is very important.? After my friend completed the paperwork we took a ride up one of those vintage nyc freight lifts (despite it being far away from the loading area) it fit all the stuff in one shot.? They have different staff around the building & on the way down the manager got on & asked how our move was going.? My buddy started telling him his "apartment story" & to our surprise we learned their is much more to this company then storage.? They manage & develop many different busisness needs: office space, conference space, nyc parking & he told my friend to also check out their residential spaces...very interesting.? It may have taken awhile to finish everything but my friend was happy & I was impressed with how well the staff interacted with the customers despite how busy it was.? I came in to this location to see 6 people waiting at the desk with one lady behind the counter and all im thinking is oh great im going to be here all night. Lakisha within the two mins I was there greeted me asked how could she help me, I told her I would like to check in and she said great she can help me if I could only give her a few moments and I can help myself to coffee or tea.I loved the way she acknowledge me but I just couldn't help but think she would take so long...now before I knew it while she was finishing up one guest and helping the next she asked for my customer number so she can get started with me, I must say I was very impressed she was so quick and efficient and she was all alone!! when it came time for her to show me the unit she didn't wavier or seemed stressed but showed interest on why I was storing there, although it was a mad house she was very calm and gave everyone her undivided attention, I didn't even feel rushed!!! when it came down to the paperwork she took her time and explained everything to me...Kudos to Lakisha!!!!! Spent a year at this facility. Initial customer service rep was excellent, got us a good six-month promotional rate for a large unit as we had to store most of our apartment. (Remember to always ask if there's a better rate.) Lakisha was wonderful when we needed to move to a smaller unit, as forthcoming and clear on room size prices, as the initial salesperson. When I forgot the ID card--lets you in building and allows elevator access--and had to keep bugging the folks at the desk for elevator help, they did with patience and a smile, no snark or rolled eyes. Thanks for that. Waiting area is clean and has coffee and tea. Moving out was a breeze. Cleared the room, they checked it, refunded deposit were courteous and friendly and we were off. A few tips: Book the van about a week before you need it or think you need it, especially if it's a weekend--you can always cancel but booking a day-of or day-before is not going to happen. And when they say "two-hour" window for van they mean it, so don't be surprised if you wait, but it worth it. read more

My rent has been hiked $40 in three months and $25 three months before that. It started at $129 and is now $243 less than two years later. The same unit in the building is currently listed for rent at $112. They keep you on three month leases that they raise by any increasing amount with each renewal. You are given no notice and the increases can be by any amount. Each comes with a lease you never see or sign full of new hidden fees, most recently a late payment fee of 25%. Such harsh penalties encourage you to use autopay, making you less likely to notice massive price hikes. All emails are ignored and the office will tell you to move to another identical unit to get back to a fair rate. I was told that over 100 people moved within the building at the start of this year, a huge waste of time with no benefit to anyone, just to get around predatory price hikes. Most people keep their storage units longer than they expect. An honest one year lease with a reputable facility will cost you far less than this predatory business model. read more

I don't have a lot of experience with storage facilities in New York, as I'm not from here. But, I have to say that this place was great with us! I came in from out of town and found myself in a bind with furniture too big to store any where else. Helena at the front desk was awesome! She accommodated us quickly and efficiently and had us on our way ASAP. She was even kind enough to give us complimentary bottles of water (I'm sure she saw that we had been having a rough day). The manager was attending the front desk as well and his demeanor with the other customers was amazing, one woman was almost in tears from how grateful she was for them being able to help her. I can see that other people posting reviews have had differing opinions, but I can only speak for the customer service and attention that I received while i was there. I am beyond grateful for their help and much like what TONY L. said in his review, I'm happy to find my faith in good people and solid costumer service wasn't in vain. read more

Reggie and Jyoti were very helpful and made a stressful situation far less so . Jyoti was patient with me to make sure I was happy with the bin i was going to be renting ( and showed me several until I decided which one I wanted ) Reggie was a wonderful man. Reggie helped me move my boxes in to my bin, advised which ones to stack on which to maximize space usage and accessibility. Reggie was very helpful, friendly, and full of good advice. And finally Tom , the GM at the facility, has been very responsive, thoughtful and helpful . Angie and Jerome , both of whom I spoke to but never met, were equally responsive and helpful . Angie, in particular, was pro-active in helping me schedule the shuttle for my move. Overall, the entire customer service experience has been very positive. He provided accurate and reliable advisement on the correct storage unit that would best meet my needs. Additionally, Ben provided much appreciated prompt and efficient assistance that was so crucial as I was in a rime crunch. Both were very helpful. When I suspected it might have just been a fluke to get such amazing service, Mr. Mateo deployed Reggie who stepped up to the plate with immediate promptness working efficiently and meticulously to help resolve a fidgety lock barrel. Manhattan Mini Storage used to be great, but they were bought out by TKG - III Eagle, LLC and they are now doubling, tripling and quadrupling their rates!!! RUN, do not Walk to get away from them!!! They are heartless, supremely greedy jerks and don't give a fig about their loyal customers who have been with them for years. I was hit especially hard financially by Covid - I'm a senior citizen and lost my apartment as a result. Before they were bought out, the customer service reps were terrific and understanding and would work with you. NO MORE!! Nothing but GREED, GREED, Unbridled GREED!!! Their rates are now what amounts to the price for a small studio in New York, but without including plumbing or a kitchen, etc. That's how HIGH their rates have become!!! read more

I was so confident that my goods would be safe but even more so he was so friendly and so competent with all matters relating to the storage. The administration was done super fast and easily and they were amazing at communicating with me. I have worked with Manhattan mini storage before and this was the best experience BY FAR. I highly recommend this business. My key did not work as we were scheduled to vacate. Adrienne who worked the front desk, went out of her way to help me. The maintenance person, Julian, was at another location and done for the day and went out of his way to come to the location and help me get into my unit. They provide a free van and driver to take you to your location. My driver, Colin, waited over an hour for me to get my things out of storage and then loaded everything up and unloaded at my destination on a very busy street. All three of these employees went above and beyond what they had to and made what could have turned out to be a disaster into a manageable situation. Thank you so much! read more

This isn't my first renting with Manhattan mini but it is my husbands first time renting with the company and he isn't a very easy guy to get along with...he was very upset about the whole insurance and security deposit and credit checks that they never told us about, but Lakisha was very calm and patient with him even when he walked out in the middle of filing paper work, when we came back in she was very apologetic and started the process with us all over with a smile...she even had him laughing by the time we left!! She even called me the next day to tell me I left my ID and see how my move in went!! I hope everyone at this company have the same customer service as she does!! read more

First of all, we cannot say enough about Tressan Martin who was incredibly helpful and went well beyond the usual to help with our late night move. If not for her, we would be in a very difficult situation and we are very grateful. There is a lot of the paperwork which could have been done on line. Also, this whole process should have been made clearer and explained about how long it took and what specific info was needed. One reviewer complained about them not providing a hand cart which is a ridiculous and entitled attitude- that is your own responsibility to get your stuff there. My only complaint is that it is pretty expensive for a small space. read more

Have been with MMS for years. As I "decluttered" apartment and storage unit, the unit was now too large and downsized to a smaller unit which was available only at the 44th Street location. Both Dio and Lakisha at the 43rd Street location were both so kind and absolutely wonderful with making the paperwork a breeze. Alex, the MMS taxi driver was very kind and funny, not only driving me and my schtuff over to the new facility, but also helped to load/unload.
