I had a paint "emergency" and Peter at Manhattan Painting came to my rescue! I live in a beautiful rental that was built in the 1920s. Unfortunately, a previous property manager hired cheap painters who didn't prime and used the wrong kind of paint. The result was peeling paint in every room. The "emergency" came up because the peeling paint on the ceiling in the kitchen got so bad recently that it started floating down into food when I was cooking! Gross and a health hazard! When I reached out to Manhattan Painting Peter did an estimate and got it back to me and the landlord very quickly. The landlord hadn't yet committed to having the place painted, but Peter reached out to me anyway. I had mentioned to him that I was hosting Thanksgiving, and he had remembered that, so he asked if I wanted him to come take care of scraping the ceiling so I wouldn't have to worry about paint in the food. I was given the okay and Peter adjusted his busy schedule to accommodate me! He was here this morning- quick, efficient- left the place almost cleaner than it was before he started and now I'm excited about hosting Thanksgiving. They have highly competitive prices. They let me know when they discovered issues and had good solutions to fix some areas that had either termite or dry rot damage. read more

Peter and his team are absolutely fantastic and yes you can quote me. I separate Peter and Manhattan Painting from every other South Bay Painting Group and here is why. 13 years ago, I hired Peter to paint my Condo. I have wood cathedral ceilings so painting the ceilings is a grueling and long process. The agreement was for 2 coats of paint. Peter soon realized it really needed 3 coats. Rather than trying to revise the agreement or ask for more money, Peter's team went ahead and painted a third coat because it was the right thing to do and they wanted to do a great job. As treasurer of my HOA we hired Manhattan Painting again to paint the outside of our condo building. Once again they outdid themselves. Originally projecting two weeks, they did the job in three weeks and again 5 stars. Hired Peter again last month to repaid my condo. Again absolutely amazing. Even things I didn't request to be painted they painted. Why, because they always do a terrific job. Yes, by all means I strongly recommend Manhattan Painting. They are not the cheapest, but they are definitely worth it. read more

Peter's crew consists of some really nice guys who show up every day right on time and they are indeed meticulous. Manhattan Painting Company made my bedrooms & closets absolutely beautiful! The paint job looks like perfection. The walls, the baseboards, every last detail looks amazing. The owner, Peter Kelley, is very approachable & knowledgeable. Takes his time to go over the whole project beforehand, then sends you a very competitive proposal. The crew was very prompt, courteous, & professional. They worked efficiently and got the job done ahead of schedule. They left my house without a trace of debris. We selected Manhattan Painting Company to paint our new house. Their bid seemed fair, and was in the middle-range of all of the bids we received. Unfortunately, every step of the way their work was sub-par and we constantly had to ask them to redo things. They were also difficult to reach and often did not show up to work when they said they would requiring repeated requests for them to come back and work every step along the way. We suspect they had another "more important" job that they were doing and we got stuck with the leftover workers. Not acceptable considering how much money we were paying them. As for the work, the prep was not very thorough and there were lots of things that we had to ask them to fix afterwards. Missed spots (as in not painted!), drops of paint, gouges in the wall, and just plain sloppy work - all things that a decent painter should notice and fix immediately. We almost ran out of Blue Tape... Overall, some things look good, but for the most part they did a very sloppy job. If you look close enough, anywhere, there are mistakes. Now we are waiting for them to come back and do the final round of touch-ups and they have not returned our calls for over a week. I highly recommend NOT using Manhattan Painting Company. They are not reliable and their work is mediocre at best. read more

We selected MB Painting Co to paint our new construction house. Not only did they send a second rate crew who had the worst attitudes when we told them they were using the wrong colors for the rooms, they were completely unprofessional and had to re-do things numerous times. Peter the owner was also never available and when he would come over to check the job it was never his crews problem. How? I don't know as his second rate crew was the only team in the house painting! We ended up having our entire house repainted (inside and out)!! What a waste of money. Look elsewhere for your pain crew, you will thank me. read more

The best commentary for any painter is how well the job holds up. Used Manhattan Painting to paint the exterior of my home in M.B. In less than "one" year the paint started bubbling (poor prep). Contacted company to have them come out and look at their work it took them 4 days to return call. Even then the owner wasn't conscious or aware that I was a past customer. On the positive side I receive an electronic holiday greeting card every year. I do not recommend Manhattan Painting Company. read more

Like one of the other reviewers, we also selected Manhattan Painting Company to paint our house. Their bid was in the mid-range of all of the bids we received, so we secured their services. Unfortunately, every step of the way was a struggle. We constantly had to ask them to redo things, particularly in the prep. it was more work than a paying customer should have had to deal with. One of the challenges was getting the supervisor from MPC to actually show up and oversee the work contracted, rather than ordering the on-site painters (via cell phone) to quicken the pace so they could be put on the next job in the cue. I believe that had we not been on the property during the day and actually present to see what was and wasn't being done, we would have had to accept whatever they delivered. As it was, I felt they cut every corner they could whenever possible. I highly recommend NOT using Manhattan Painting Company. I question the management work ethic and their work as a whole is mediocre at best. A very disappointing experience. read more

Not a good team of workers. The foreman is talented but very lazy and sloppy worker. The rest of his team can do better without him. Their workers have to be micro-managed to get the job done. The paint job looks nice from far away, but up close the work is sloppy. They accidentally painted on the window frames and splattered paint on our driveway and a few other places. I've called 3 times asking for someone to come and clean up the splattered paint. Someone called back once saying it would be cleaned up, but so far no one has come by and I am no longer getting calls back. I guess they've been paid and don't really care anymore. read more

We recently used MPC when we repainted most of the inside of our house. I had received several bids and met with other painters but was really comfortable with Peter Kelly and happy with the overall pricing. We purposely were out of town during the painting and were extrememly happy when we returned. The paint looked great and the job they did was excellent.
