I have been a patron of Manhattan pizza in Ashburn for almost 15 years. For a restaurant that have pizza in its name, they have captured me with their non-pizza variety of offerings on their menu. I applied and "got" a job as a cashier from five to ten. I was so excited, took a page of notes from my first day training, and kept calling to see when I came back because one of the managers, Essa, never told me I called today, asking yet again when I would be coming back, and guess what? I was told there were multiple people training for the same position, and someone else got the job FIRST OF ALL, I wasn't told this. SECOND of all, I didn't get paid for the day of training I DID take. I did everything I could. I memorized the menu, took a page of notes once I drove back home. I was so excited for my first job. Essa was very unprofessional too, leaving me hanging for two and a half days, not responding to my calls, not telling me a THING about other people training at the same time for my possible position, nor giving me a schedule of the hours I would be working between five and ten. We will be calling BBB, for this is indeed a violation. I used to love and admire your restaurant and have eaten here since I was a kid, but now? Papa John's from now on, that's for sure. read more

I have ordered from here multiple times and it is on my rotation of places have pizza and pasta. It is simple and the ingredients are fresh. I have had multiple pizzas and they were all good. I have also had the spaghetti and while it was simple it was a decent portion and great flavor. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I called in an order for pick up around lunch time and after a tad bit of being on hold, I was able to place my order and was advised it would be ready in fifteen minute. When I arrived to pick up my food, I was acknowledged and greeted as soon as soon as I walked in the door. My order was indeed ready and checking out was a breeze. I ordered a Chicken Philly and fries. I requested that the Chicken Philly be a wrap which they accommodated without hesitation and it was fantastic! Plenty if shredded chicken, grilled onions, tomatoes and a healthy amount of provolone cheese. No lettuce for me. For my side I chose fries which were seasoned and filled half the container. The sammie mad wrap cones with honey mustard which next time I would ask for on the side since it made the bottom of the wrap a little wet wet. Thankfully because it was wrapped in foil and sliced in half it wasn't as drenched as it could have been. Manhattan does have seating so next time I'd probably dine in. They do also have delivery if needed. Staff was friendly front start to finish and made every effort to engage with the customers beyond just a hi and bye. They have the freshest, best-tasting pizza in the area but their customer service lately, specifically from the kids answering the phone and working the register, has been frustrating. One of the pizzas on a recent carryout order placed online had the wrong topping. It took several phone calls, and one hour, before a new pizza was delivered. And it had the wrong toppings--again. The young manager said the kitchen had made the mistake, but he should have checked himself. We'll continue to order from Manhattan but will be more diligent on our end when placing carry out orders to ensure our food is properly prepared. read more

I used to order delivery here quite often. However, despite complaints and requests I put in the comments section on every order, they continue to deliver my pizza AFTER leaning it so all of the toppings and cheese runs to one side. I've complained to management. Nothing changed I've written to the store. No response I've written to corporate. No response The picture is a pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni on it. The person taking the order pretty much hung up on me after he took my order. BeforeCaesar Salad he rudely hung up on me, I asked him 3 times not to knock on my door to avoid waking my dog and my kids up. I have been coming to this location in Ashburn for most of my life and it is always a pleasant experience. The meat pizza is always delicious. I only knock one star because the quality of the calzones has decreased somewhat over the years. They used to be so big and full of ingredients, but as of late they have been slightly underwhelming. Crust had gone downhill. We've been going to Manhattan in Ashburn for years. As native NYers we're always trying to find authentic NY style pizza. We were formerly fans of Sal's (before Sal let his sons run it into the ground). Manhattan was the closest to NY pizza in Ashburn. I moved from Ashburn two years ago and only recently moved back. As it was biting cold today, I decided to pop in and grab a hot lunch to go. A lot can happen in two years! I walked in and walked right back out, confused. In realizing I was where I wanted to be, I walked back in. They now also have a FROYO place and the pizzeria is redone in a modern, bistro theme with beautiful brick walls and wooden tables: ambience was cozy. The servers were kind and patient as for some reason, I was totally flustered by new arrangement and not seeing the customary faces I was used to. After a few minutes of indecision, I ended up getting the chicken parm sub with French fries to go. You can get the chicken grilled or breaded (I went with the latter). The portion was good sized. The sauce however was way too sweet for my taste; it took away from the savoriness of the sandwich. The fries are the double-fried kind, which many people like, but be never been a fan. In the past, I always got pizza and salad here and both were very good (as you can see from an earlier post, I used to have to be GF and wasn't a fan of the GF crust, but their regular dough was always properly baked with a good chew). I'll come back for pizza to see if that has changed or is still as I remember and will update. I'll just avoid the tomato-sauce based sandwiches in the future. read more

Gave my phone number 5 times for the employee to check on my order. He kept asking if I ordered from there store. I recently ordered the items we used to love at the Leesburg location at this Manhattan Pizza in Ashburn and we were very happy! Excellent quality ingredients combined with perfect timing and Manhattan Pizza is back. DO NOT ORDER from the Leesburg location if you want to get the real flavor and quality of Manhattan Pizza. I recently tried Manhattan Pizza. Coming from the northeast I am very familiar with NY style pizza. One thing I can say without question is Manhattan Pizza is anything but NY pizza. Soggy crust, tasteless sauce, nearly invisible cheese. I never thought I would say this but Manhattan Pizza makes Pizza Hut seem downright great in comparison. And I hate Pizza Hut pizza. read more

This is the second time we've ordered from Manhattan Pizza recently. First it was the steak and cheese sub with fries. The bun was completely soggy and fries were soggy and cold. Tonight, we tried the taco pizza. Again, huge disappointment. You would never know it was supposed to be a taco pizza. Very little taco meat and hardly any taco seasoning. On the top there was completely wilted lettuce and diced tomatoes. That's it. Why would they put lettuce on a pizza, taco or not. I'm a little surprised that I'm the first to get around to reviewing this place. It's a little Italian/Middle-Eastern joint serving up pizza, calzones, and pitas in the same plaza as KarateBagelsDance. You residents of the 'Burn know what I'm talking about. I've only ever been here for dinner while on duty at the fire station, but I've yet to be disappointed by anything I've tried. Admittedly, I've never had their pizza, but their calzones are large (think the size of your head) and served piping hot, with some marinara sauce. They're always ridiculously filling, and could readily make two meals. More often, though, I go for their pitas. It's pretty hard to go wrong with any of them: the chicken in the shish taouk is always tender; the gyro meat is always well seasoned and moist; and the souvlaki's divine. Plus, the portions for their pitas are also generous to the point where if our duty crew ends up doing physically intense training after dinner, I'm typically regretting my huge meal... There's not much to recommend Manhattan for its ambiance. It's plain and simple with tables and seats you'd find at any Five Guys. The staff are efficient and to-the-point. I'd consider it a get-in-and-get-out type of place that'll fill you up without emptying your wallet. As always, bonus points for sometimes offering a small discount to fire and rescue staff in uniform! read more
