I have placed orders online from the Herndon location 3 times now. My order has never been ready according to the Order Pick up time. The pizza isn't anything to write home about so there's no justifiably reason for the wait. Update : I was told my pizza would be ready in 15 minutes when I arrived at my scheduled p/u time. I waited in my car, came back in after 15 minutes and was told the wait was 20-25 minutes!! This is beyond ridiculous. I will never be back here. It's unacceptable. read more

The pizza was so flavorful, perfect pizza texture where you get the ooey-gooey cheese pull while having that nice crunch of the crust and base of the pizza. The cookies were cooked to perfection. $5 for a "giant" slice? What a scam! You get a sad, tasteless sliver of pizza that's an insult to the word "giant." This is one of the newer Wiseguys Pizza locations (Herndon), but don't expect the legendary vibes of the original Mass Ave spot in DC. That place hasn't been the same since 2022, and it shows. Wiseguys used to be a DMV pizza king--golden crust, perfect sauce, the works. But ever since Thompson Hospitality swooped in, it's been a straight-up tragedy. They've traded soul for profit, and the pizza's paying the price. I gave the Herndon location three chances, and every time? Bland, lifeless, and just plain nasty. You're better off grabbing a frozen pie from Giant down the street--seriously. Thank the pizza gods for Jet's Pizza nearby. $8 gets you two legit slices and a soda--properly priced and actually delicious. It's heartbreaking to see Wiseguys fall so far. Thompson Hospitality gutted a DMV gem. RIP the real Wiseguys Pizza. You deserved better. read more

I love the Wiseguy Pizza chain. Ever since the pre-pandemic days when I used to work in DC, I would frequent both of the locations inside the city. And then when they opened a location slightly closer to me in Arlington, that became my go-to location. And so now that there is a location in my hometown of Herndon, this will be the one I frequent from now on. There's a lot of great NY style pizza places in DC and Northern VA. Wiseguy is in the discussion for being one of the best. I've been to the Herndon location once so far and while it's not as glitz and glammy as the DC locations in terms of its decor, it does what it needs to do to serve amazing pizza. The special topping combinations change regularly but every slice I've ever tried at any Wiseguy location has been phenomenal. If you live on the western side of Northern VA, I recommend you check out Wiseguy next time you want a delicious slice of NY pizza. read more

Management better come in and do some supervising for this location. First off the place looks like a mess. Outside, inside..just not kept and the kicker is there are no customers so why aren't employees tidying up?? I've been to the DC location several years back and thought the pizza was very good. I wanted to try it again since it is closer by but we walked in...saw the old, crusty stale looking pizzas...and had to walk out. So, I can't comment on the taste of the pizza...but I can say the pies just didn't look appetizing at all. read more

I've worked across the street from this restaurant for many years and even though it opened six months ago, I have not tried it until today. I'm really glad I did because I now have a good pizza option that is not far from work or home at all. If you've seen any reviews from me, you know I'm a native NYer and I basically gave up on pizza in VA years ago, until discovering Teddy's in Middleburg several years ago, but the drive can be a grind. I did not really think a chain pizza restaurant would be any good as Domino's, Papa John's, Marco's and Pizza Hut are all awful to me. However, Wiseguy was a great surprise! This is a true Brooklyn Style pizza cooked perfectly. The crust was crisp and not floppy, the cheese and sauce were balanced perfectly, no sloppy, gross pizza that is drowning in sauce with way too much cheese that just slides off, no, this one was perfect. The sauce has an excellent taste as well. I judge pizza this way: If you can walk down the street while eating a slice and it's not making a mess, the pizza chef has done something right and in this case, they do a great job. We met the GM of the restaurant, a native NYer himself, so he knows what good pizza is supposed to taste like and he has really shaped this restaurant up considering what some of the previous reviews have said. The restaurant was clean, well lit, and the music was playing. The GM is a great guy, we really enjoyed talking with him. Finally, if you are looking for a lunch spot, you can't miss this incredible deal: 18" Cheese pizza for $11.99 from 11am-2pm, seriously, that can't be beat. 4 people can eat for $3 each- you just don't see that, especially in this economy. Been meaning to try Wiseguy since they opened in Herndon. I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and sausage through GrubHub. Pizza arrived on time with no issues, was a little cold but I put that down to the time it took to deliver to my house. Pizza itself tasted great though, was nice and thin with a crispy crust. I ordered with Marinara sauce and I think that made it taste even better with just a little bit of sweetness that I like. Being originally from NJ not far from NYC, I feel like I know good pizza and this one was good. I miss Rocco's Pizza in Leesburg, but this is even closer to my house and a good substitute. Bottom Line: This pizza, and Hasan, are two of the best things in the Reston/Herndon area. This past Friday night I was in the mood for pizza, but found my former NY Style pizza place has let quality control drop. I am not naming them because maybe I had loved them for years now and don't want to hurt their business more than it may already be suffering. I saw the sign weeks ago, saw where it was located and checked their reviews on Friday night and decided to take a chance. I called the location to see if they could adjust one particular item on my UberEats order (I wanted extra cheese) and Hasan answered and was great to talk to. Funny, enthusiastic, and he made sure I knew he had all the pizza experience in NYC - and I would not be disappointed with my first Wiseguy experience. The pizza was as close to perfect as it gets, and much much better than two area places that claim to make New York style pizza. If you want real NY style pizza, order from this place now. All, this is my first visit and I can say that the service was great and their chocolate chip cookie tastes great. Music was also good. However, the pizza is unfortunately subpar. The crust was chewy and overall low in flavor and salt, which was reminiscsent of standard lower quality pizza pickup joints. The sauce had raw garlic which I recommend they saute first before adding to the sauce to avoid the overpowering bitterness of raw garlic. Chili peppers had no punch, might consider offering jalepenos instead. The price is also too high for the quality. If they improve the crust and sauce, they might have a chance on repeat customers. As for my opinion, I won't be returning unless they improve. read more

We've been to the dc location and this place is abysmal. Expect it to go out of business in under a year. The flavor and taste is lacking. Many of the flavors they have online are not even available. The second time we went, we ordered online for pickup through their site. They were pressed to get our home address but not email or phone. I go to pick it up and they say they ran out of mushrooms. Told them to make it anyways. Then they go to the back and say they are out of vegan cheese and if we want a non vegan pizza instead. I was frustrated they did not call and tell us this. I asked them why they couldn't call and tell us, and she said she didn't have my number. But my name, email and number is clearly on the order confirmation because it comes through from Apple Pay. It gets better, they don't have the ability to refund! So now I am mad that they can't give me my money back. They took down my number and said a manager would call me. Next day no one called. Day after I called and they were like, oh yeh, talked to the manager, do you want another pizza? I said no, I want my refund like I asked. I asked where the manager is and she said call back tomorrow. I then asked if they can have the manager call me like we agreed and she then said yes. Very middle of the road pizza experience. I tried two slices and a stromboli . The Stromboli was mostly bread with very little filling, and the marinara sauce they gave on the side was extremely cold making it a pretty unpleasant experience overall. The slices were decent. Buffalo chicken had plenty of flavor from the buffalo and ranch sauces. The classic pep was what it was. I've been to a lot of slice shops and I felt like both slices were on the small side. Their method of reheating the pies was to put them on a conveyer belt toaster rather than put them back in the oven. Order didn't turn out very warm to begin with and was room temp by the time I got to my last item. Overall not a place where you feel like you're getting value for your money. read more

As good as the other locations!! Staff are super friendly and service is quick. This location is a bit small (5-6 tables) so definitely good for take-out. You can get by slice or whole pies. I love their specialty flavors since they're so unique. My favorites are Chicken Paneer and Chicken Parmesan! read more

Update: I decided to give Wiseguys another chance as my wife wanted to try it. The experience was absolutely horrible. We ordered pepperoni pizza online and went to pick it up. After arriving, they had lost the order but offered my wife a cheese pizza that had been sitting out. She declined and asked for the pizza we ordered. Instead of making it, they took the cheese pizza behind the counter and pretended to make a new pizza, but instead just put uncooked pepperoni on the old cheese pizza and gave it to her. She asked if they had just made it, and they said yes. When she got home, we confirmed the stale pizza was topped with raw pepperoni which immediately fell off when it was picked up. The pizza was ice cold after the 7 minute drive home. Original Review: I was excited to try this place after hearing lots of good things. I ordered online and added the thick pepperoni cups as an extra topping. When I got home I realized these were never added to the pizza. Since this topping was an extra $6.50, I called to ask for a refund or credit for that amount. The person answering the phone could not understand my request, so kept repeatedly hanging up on me. When I finally got through to the manager after 6 calls, he told me he knew this was an issue and the topping wasn't actually available at this location. None of this was ever communicated when I picked up the pie. He told me he couldn't "get into the system" to credit me, and just said "sorry, I've got customers here" and hung up. Tough to support a business who is knowingly charging customers for a product they don't have, and refusing to make it right. The pizza itself was fine, but nothing to write home about. read more

When I asked if I could have an add on the guy said well we aren't supposed to do that, I have never heard of a pizza place that wouldn't add something for an extra charge. He did add what I asked for but only 4 mushrooms. If you go there ask them to put the pizza through the heater twice, mine was cold and the cheese wasn't melted at all. If I go back I will be trying the thin crust. But may not at $5.99 a slice and I can't get what I want on it. read more

Being from New Jersey, I think the Wiseguys on Mass Ave is the closest I get to pizza back home, plus their house-made ranch is the perfect amount of spicy and delicious. I was thrilled to hear about a Wiseguy's opening near where I currently live in Herndon. I think they must be going through growing pains. The pizza was still good, good dough, good sauce, except they did not include the spicy aged pepperoni topping I paid extra for. The garlic knots were similar, good dough, less garlic than other locations, but overall not bad. I was extremely disappointed by the ranch, both in portion and "house made." I paid almost a dollar a piece for 5 extra ranches, and what I received was the attached pictures, which was absolutely not the ranch I have gotten from Wiseguys in the past, filled with red pepper flakes. I will try again in a few months, since the pizza is decent, but I was definitely disappointed with my first visit. read more

I feel compelled to review this restaurant because the pizza was just so bad. After faithfully patronizing the Rosslyn location, I used to think Wiseguys was the best pizza in the DC area. Now I know that it varies drastically by location. Two weeks ago, I ordered two pizzas: pepperoni and supreme. Toppings were fine, but the pizzas were so undercooked, they were soggy in the middle. I hoped it was just a bad night and so I ordered two more pizzas: pepperoni and a Sicilian pepperoni. The Sicilian pepperoni is supposed to be like a Detroit style pizza, with a thick crunchy crust. What I got must've been a prebaked crust that was as thin as my hand tossed pizza. It was so tough I could barely chew it. When I entered the restaurant, there were a couple of pans sitting on the counter (facing customers). One was empty except for a piece of broccolini (?), and the other had two burnt, broken cookies. When I say burnt, I'm not exaggerating. They looked like charcoal briquettes. Was this what they were selling to customers? Even if not, why would you place that in the display area? Service behind the counter was friendly, but that can't overcome the poor food quality and apparent lack of management here. read more
