a plate of salad and a sandwich
Kristin D.

This pizza place had a REALLY nice side salad that comes as a side option with their sandwiches and subs. Usually pizza place salads are anemic but this one was so nice: cucumbers, tomato, red pepper, red onion, assorted spring lettuces. Very nice bread for the subs. Another nice bonus: if you get a sandwich, soft drinks are free! I didn't care for the mozzarella sticks- I like them lighter on the breading and less time in the deep fryer.

Sparse cheesesteak with a single miniature tomato, brown lettuce and very little meat.

This was the first time we went to Manhattan after moving to Purcellville recently. The cheesesteak was weak. Take a look for yourself in the photo. There was barely any meat, and the lettuce was brown, with one tiny tomato. The fries were ok but there wasn't many of them. We had friends over and wanted to try this place out. I was so embarrassed that this is what we brought back for them. Total fail.

My husband and I love Manhattan Pizza in Purcellville. Their pizza and wings are our favorite on the menu. We've always done delivery, but today we did pickup. After we paid for our order, a man who worked there (we think he was the owner or manager) started insisting we try the frozen yogurt. He gave us a handful of samples and then said, "Which ones do you like? I'm going to give you some to-go." He was so friendly and happy. My husband and I each picked a flavor and he scooped two generous portions and gave them to us for free with a huge smile on his face. He absolutely made our day. Manhattan pizza has always been our go-to pizza place but now it's more than that. It's a business that cares about their customers. To us, that's worth more even more than delicious pizza. Next time we place an order, we are definitely adding frozen yogurt. It was delicious!!!

Food has good flavor but only 5 very small onion rings for $4.95. Also very slow service.

Absolutely horrendous. Pizza literally was just bread and cheese, had no sauce or flavor. Couldn't even finish it

The pizza just had no flavor. Not only are we one and done, but 'our' backyard crows will get the last couple of slices.

Most boring pizza in Purcellville. Doughy, not much taste. Even Dominos is better.

We were weekly customers at the Ashburn location many years ago and were so excited to have them come out to Purcellville.

This is "Greek-style" and not a Greek eatery. What a disappointment. I do so love Greek food which…read morelured me here, so I write this as a cautionary review. Whats more sad is that I paid $15 for something that isn't at all as advertised. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Greek Salad as I love grilled meat. Never have I had souvlaki in over a dozen voyages to Greece that was wet boiled or microwaved, as this chicken seemed to be. Souvlaki are grilled skewers. This place should NOT sell the pile of bland, blond, wet chicken breast as "souvlaki." The "Greek" salad was sad. No other way to describe it. It had the ingredients of a Greek salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber) but the feta was meager and there were no onions. The tzatziki was more akin to ranch dressing (not made with yogurt- real Greek yogurt would hold a spoon standing in it. This was almost liquid.) ) and the pita was a doughy, cheap substitute. Their listing says fresh bread, and this pita was not so much. The owner seems nice and personable, and I wish him well but I also wish he would pay more attention to the product he delivers, especially if they call it, Greek. UPDATE from owners rebuttal: I write fair reviews as I experience the food. The issue is not whether you have fresh ingredients or quality chicken: it is clearly stated what you served was just not souvlaki in anyway, it was wet sautéed chicken and that was not traditional tzatziki. It was tzatziki-like sauce. Period. If you go to a pizza place to buy a pizza and you get high quality toasted bread with excellent tomato sauce and good mozzarella- it's still not a pizza, no matter the quality, and you shouldn't call it a pizza. I don't deny you are Greek, proud or otherwise, just serve what you advertise. Good luck to you too!

I opted for a Mimosa and opted for the buffet. My friend ordered a couple cocktails - I don't recall which ones - but both were delicious. My husband ordered the Limoncello Spritz which was also very good. My friend ordered the Herb Roasted Beets Salad with the Bavette Steak. My friend really enjoyed it. For the buffet, I tried the New York Strip, the Fried Chicken, Gulf Shrimp & Grits, Belgian Waffles and the Local Sausage. I really enjoyed everything I tried. The Belgian Waffle was very good and the Fried Chicken had a really crispy skin and was tender. The Flavor of the Shrimp & Grits and the New York Strip were also very good. Service was great and I would definitely come back to check out their dinner and the rest of their menu.

Accordingly, I recommended it to my parents for a special meal, and round two was not as good. We were sat upstairs, which detracted from the ambience substantially, but worse was our server. From the moment she greeted us, we could tell she did not want to be there. She brought red wine in white wine glasses and a bread basket with only three pieces to a table of four people. I pointed this out and requested more bread, so that each of us could have a piece, but she never returned with more as she agreed to do. (Eventually a different server brought us more bread upon second request.) After food was served, I don't recall seeing her to check in until we'd finished eating. Absolutely unacceptable when you're waiting on a table that's putting down more than $250 before tip. Food wise, pretty happy. Fried green tomato was good; pincaha was salty but well cooked (chimichurri overpowering); duck was nice; and pastas were rich. I'd be back but specify that I want a table on the main floor, not upstairs between the bathroom and kitchen. I'd also be on the lookout for the redheaded waitress with the chip on her shoulder.

It is not cheap, but it is worth it to us. Each pizza is one size and will serve 2 people. The menu is very limited beyond pizza. This is an example of picking one thing and doing it very well. The kitchen is tiny, and seating is very limited so we always take the pizza home. They are closed Sundays.

We are not from the area, and I have some definite food allergies (simple pizzas are typically…read moresafe...) and so each dining experience is completely unique and occasionally challenging... But...Oh my gosh! This was one of the best wood fired pizza's we've had in years! Excellent sauce, phenomenal buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, tomatoes and onions! Be still my heart! Husband added some feta! So good! And the Greek Salad was fresh, perfectly balanced with a tasty dressing! We we served by one of the owners, (my chemo-brain has already lost her name...) who was so kind, friendly and accommodating that we felt as if we were regulars. There are only three tables inside, with lots of dining outside... We ate inside, at the center table. We could watch the pizza making process from our table, which was very interesting and nice. They made the end of a Birthday getaway a success! If you're looking for a delicious pizza with a terrific salad and a wonderful team, this is without a doubt, the perfect place to eat while in the Lovettsville area. (Forgot to take a photo!)
