This was a great find. The people that work there are pretty friendly and accommodating. The place is super clean and I love that they give you neck warmers and hot tea to relax on the solder days. I especially love getting my toes done, it's so relaxing. Try going when it's not so busy, you get to spend more time in the chair!' Debbie Downer! & I was really hoping to like this place since it's close to my apt. I'm not terribly picky about my nails, and I only had a manicure here--so I can't speak to the pedicure chairs (which sound amazing)--but it wasn't great. I wasn't impressed with the tools/cleanliness of the manicure area, the polish also wasn't applied as well (i.e. some polish on my cuticles, etc) and my nails chipped in less than three days! Which is especially a bummer since I got a deep red instead of my usual nude/light pink. It is a big space (2 storefronts) and uncrowded, but that can be deceiving. When I was there the only clients were myself and one other girl, who was halfway through a mani, and two women came in looking for mani/pedis and were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait, as they only had 2 techs working. I've had much better results only blocks away at Pinky's, Nail.com & Nail Bar. read more

Unfortunately I got a pretty crappy manicure here. I was in the neighborhood and needed a mani before heading off to a wedding for the weekend. It's a really cute place with TONS of colors, so it's too bad that the quality was poor. The woman seemed kind of rushed (it was the middle of the weekday and no one else was waiting). I got an OPI color and it honestly started to chip later that night. Five days later, the mani was curling back on my nails in a really weird way that had never happened before. Weird. They offer a free mani Mon-Wed with a pedi, which is a great deal. Regular mani is $15. read more

My friend and I decided to get mani/pedis yesterday and this place had no wait -- so off we went! The staff was extremely nice, the place is clean and cute, chairs are comfortable and the mani/pedi quality was excellent! They give you a punch card to use towards a free mani and I will definitely be going back/filling that baby up. read more

$35 for a mani/pedi is a steal. They consistently have great colors and the technicians are are always respectful, cordial and will try to fit you in as fast as they can. I never feel rushed--even when I'm sitting in the technician's chair just chatting up my friend who's come to visit. The only down side is the cash-only tip policy. I've had to run to the gas station down the street before and that's a bit annoying, to say the least. At any rate, I'll be here plenty of times as it's more than reasonable, the polish stays on extra-long and it's super convenient. read more

I'm not sure if I go here for getting my nails done (I'm too lazy (or uncoordinated, as the case may be) to even paint them myself). The real reason to go is the clean atmosphere and the PEDICURE CHAIRS! They are not the run of the mill massage chairs, they are the real deal. Like when you are at Sharper image or Brookstone and you refuse to leave good. Kneading, pounding, and a foot massage at the same time. And while you wait for your nails to dry, they have a great selection of trashy reads (People, Cosmo) and a candy bowl filled with treats. read more

This place is a real find! I've gotten a mani and pedi here and it was so relaxing. They have a nice big open space which isn't typical for a nail place but I really like it. The Pedicure chairs are pretty awesome a separate reason to go all by themselves! The place is really clean and the people there are very nice. I'm slowly becoming a fan of this place. I normally visited other places further up on Southport (Pinky's and TG nails specifically), but they've just gotten too crowded for me. This place is right up there in quality, however what they lack is the service provided at some of these other places (mostly massages - read the reviews of these places if you're not sure what I'm talking about). But you don't have to fight the crowd here - which I appreciate. They are a tad more pricey though. However, it's a nice atmosphere, good color selection and really clean. read more

Walked in to get my gel manicure removed and I was taken care of right away! I also asked her to reshape my nails, clean up the nail beds and apply a protective clear top coat. The work was careful and gentle - my nails look great! read more

I had a pedi here last night and had a good experience. The massage chairs here are awesome - I almost fell asleep in mine! The girls who work there do a good job - my toes still look great today. It's a bit pricey for my tastes (at $35 for a pedi on a weeknight) but I would come back if someone else wanted to come here. read more

Had my first pedicure with them on the advice of a friend (Thanks Ellen!), and brought my husband whose feet really needed some attention. They did not flinch. My pedicure was efficient (like 40 minutes not including drying time) but did not feel rushed. Very cost effective too - as mentioned by others $35! They were great to the husband, who was a total newbie. Nice, bright, clean place, comfortable chairs too. I'll be back! read more

Min Jin is the Best!!! I have been going here since they opened, probably close to 10 years now. I no longer live close and working in sales I have my nails done just about once a week so unfortunately I have to supplement with other salons. I've tried many and there are a few that do a really nice job but no one-I mean no one compares to Min Jin. I still try and get to her at least once a month so I have a really great mani and I'll get my pedi done along with lip and eyebrow. She is simply the best at what she does. read more

I love this place. Decent prices, but great mani pedis. Massage chairs are great, good selection of mags and even a bowl of candy! Good selection of paint colors. Nice ladies that work there, often up for a nice chat. Seems clean. My paint job usually lasts long...and longer than other places. Sometimes even get perks like warm neck pillows and leg massages. I am a fan! And most of the time can get in quickly as a walk in. read more

Not impressed. Manicure and pedicure $45 and took only 45 minutes. That's not a lot of pampering for that price. The painting job was done well although not sure how long it will last. Lastly, the pedicure water was only room temp. Definitely trying elsewhere. read more

I have been going to MinJin for 8 years....no one compares. And, the pedi chairs and massage post manicure are the best.

ok most pedicures last about 40-45 min. Well at least good ones. I walked all the way from Diversey to Racine, got a Starbucks, walked down to Southport and then to the nail place and was back home in less than an hour. I am so sick of bad service. She MAYBE rubbed my legs with lotion a total of maybe 4 min for both legs...then I get home and she did not even clean up all my cuticles and under my nails very well and the polish is not even on the end of any of my nails. A waste of $35! AND I tipped her becuz I cannot see details without my glasses. So annoyed. I could have done this lame of a job myself! read more

After my 45 minute uber fast mani pedi at "mani pedi" I can honestly say I think I know what it is likefor a trucker to get a "happy ending" from a kidnapped girl from a foreign location. To say that the young girl giving me this service seemed tortured would be an understatement. She spoke excellent English, but kept speaking in thai/vietnamese not sure what...to her cohort the whole time. In fact, despite my attempts there was virtually no speaking to me. Mind you... I dont like a lot of chatter either but it feels a litle weird not to have a little "hello" banter before someone scrubs your feet. I guess scrubbing anyone's feet probably sucks, and as a result I still tipped really well. I just wont come back. I felt like I was offending her by being there. As for the pedi.. cant complain. It has lasted like 4 weeks. Manicure was good too. The experience was just so awkward that Im not excited to return. read more

Manicures and pedicures are good but do not wax! They do not know what they are doing.

I had a terrible no chip mani here. The nail tech filed my nails so short the skin underneath is pealing and the sides hurt. She slapped on the polish so quickly it's on my cuticles and the polish is uneven. Although this location is so close, I will never go again :( read more
