This was our first time visit to Mani Pedi Spa. I came in for an emergency lash refill and brought my mom with me for a pedicure. I woke up this morning with my right eye looking bare naked - thank God I didn't have work today!!! I looked awful. They were very detailed over the phone and I am 100% satisfied with the service. First of all, prices are very reasonable. The manager lady seemed really money-oriented which was kind of off-putting, but Yang the eyelash technician was amazing. She advised me on lengths of eyelashes that work for my eye and lash type. I found out that my usual lady doesn't apply them in a way that flatters my lashes best. I have the Asian thin and straight lashes, so I understood where she was coming from. She gave me a shorter length and a more curlier lash which made me look and feel great. So far my lashes aren't doing the usual poke me in the eye thing so I am so happy :) My lashes aren't pointing in crazy directions either which is a plus. Yang was very gentle and did an amazing job. After she finished, she gave me a light massage and my goodness was that a pleasant surprise. Definitely coming back because Yang knows what's up! Yang also charged me a more reasonable price than initially quoted since I have less lashes than most. Nice to know she wasn't out to rip me off and was really concerned about my satisfaction and comfort. As for the pedicure, don't be put off by the price. They do walk-ins and do a terrific job. They are well-staffed and their facility is hygenic which I value very much. My mom was raving about the package she got which was the Creativ Delux package. She has dry feet with lots of dead skin and now not only are her feet nice and smooth, but her skin looks brighter too! Thanks Mani Pedi Spa! We'll be back soon! read more

Very happy with my pedi this past Friday. I went back today for a mani. Did chrome gel polish with Loan. She is very detailed and I was seen immediately. Convenient location and clean! Felt very pampered and loved it! Recommended to my friends to try and will be back again! read more

A friend and I decided at the last minute to get pedis on a sunday afternoon and this is the only place that could take us right away. The decor is very modern and the salon itself seemed very clean and well kept. The pedicure area is tucked behind a wall so there is privacy unlike other salons in the mall that shoppers can clearly see you getting your feet shaved. The instruments used seemed to have been sterilized so major points for that. My friend and I did get to sit together but my friend's chair's massage function was not working. It was fine since she doesn't really like the massage anyway. I also noticed another customer who was informed her chair did not have massage either. The techs are professional and did not chat much with each other and let me and my friend engage in our own conversation. The color selection was a little scarce but I was able to find a color I liked. The pedicure was quick but efficient. I do wish they spent a little more time massaging though. Relaxing experience compared to other places i've been to but be prepared to pay for it. A basic pedi is $30 not including designs. A bit pricey for me but worth it if you're at the mall and wanting a last minute pampering. read more

My friend made an appointment for 5 of us on a Saturday. We were greeted as we walked in and they took us in right away. The ladies are very friendly. They also have an extensive selection of polish including OPI. I liked my spa pedicure that I received. However, I was a little disappointed that I did not really receive a leg and foot massage. Rather, it just felt like she put a salt exfoliation scrub on my legs and just rubbed it in. The next day, my left toe felt a little tingly. When I looked on the side, it looked like a small cut or perhaps when she was pulling out my cuticles she might have pinched the skin. I will search for another place to get my pedicure fix. read more

After a long day at work I decided to beautify my hands and feet with a basic mani pedi and small kine toe art. There was no wait and I was seated immediately. It took a short and sweet hour to finish the whole process. The experience was pleasant but the price was a bit high for a basic ($63) but I will definitely return. read more

I didn't want to leave a review initially but I have waited over a week now for a manager to call me and no one has. I was visiting Honolulu last week for a dental conference, broke 2 nails, this was the first shop I saw at the Ala Moana and reading reviews it sounds like I chose the worst shop in the Center. My nail tech Tina was rude right off the bat, wanted to charge me $12/nail and $20 for a polish change.. At that rate it was cheaper to get a fill so I opted for the outrageously priced fill instead of single repair. Tina began glueing new fake nails onto the ones that had broken off and on the second nail she somehow managed to squirt super glue into my left eye. Thankfully I wear contact lenses so a lot of the glue got on my lens but there was glue in my eye, the lower and upper eyelid and in my lashes. I immediately pulled my hands away and held my eye with the back of my hand. Tina asked if I was ok and I replied "I think you just got glue in my eye." She immediately said "NO, that was you! You touched your eye!" Yes Tina, yes I did touch my eye... AFTER you shot glue into it. She then proceeded to argue with me and spoke very little english so it was like arguing with a rock. I asked to use a restroom because my eye was on fire and my contact lens was actually stuck in my upper lid, it was very scary. I was told there was no public bathroom. Of course... Then I asked to speak with a manager. The manager isn't here. Of course she's not. Then I asked to have another tech and she told me there was no one else. I felt so vulnerable as I'm sitting there with super glue in my eye and 4 inch fake nails glued to my hands because she hadn't trimmed them yet. I couldn't even touch inside my eyes to get the glue out because they had powder all over them. I was finally given a rough paper towel and was able to use that to pull my dirty contact lens out. She continued to deny and blame me as she finished my nails and then proceeded to charge me $62 and asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I left my name and phone number on a piece of paper and asked for the manager to call me to which no one ever did. Honestly, if the tech would have just said sorry this wouldn't have been an issue. But to sit there and place blame on your customer is just flat out poor customer service. I manage a dental office and we would never treat our patients the way I was treated at this establishment had it been my fault or not. After leaving there salon I went back to my hotel and was finally able to look into a mirror. I had super glue splatter on the bridge of my nose and the back side of my hand, on my eye and in my eye. I attached a photo and have videos as well that I will share where ever I can. DO NOT COME HERE! There are two much better salons you could go to at this mall. Went in this morning for a pedi with no appointment but it was early so they were able to take me right away. First off, I don't even know who did my nails because she didn't introduce herself to me. She turned on the massage chair for me which gave me a headache in minutes. No thanks. While she was working on my toes she went a little too deep and my toe started to bleed. Of course I noticed right away because it hurt! But she didn't say a word. She kept glancing at me to see if I noticed but when the bleeding didn't stop immediately she finally said sorry and said I must have an ingrown toenail which is what caused the bleed. Really? I don't think so. I checked my nails last night and I know that's not true. Apart from that it was an okay experience. While she was working on my feet she had me keep my foot in the air so she could scrub it. Not the most pleasant thing when you're 9 months pregnant and swollen. Also, the employees that didn't have customers kept coming into my line of view and putting makeup on each other and themselves. Not very professional IMO. Would I go back? I'll probably be trying out some of the other places between Ala Moana and Kaimuki first but if I need something fast, yeah, I'll go back but it's definitely not my first choice. read more

The price does not reflect the level of competency. It is a clean and convenient place. The service was attentive, however, the manicure and pedicure was below par. I should not be charged $68 to have my cuticles painted along with my nails. Also, at the end of the spa pedicure they ushered me out and did not offer a place to dry. This led to bubbles in my toenail polish. The two stars are for the chairs. They give an awesome back massage! read more

Cons:* Quoted $38 for mani/pedi charged $40 * extra art such as flowers $5 per nail which is double going rate in California * pedicure chairs broken and cannot be adjusted so they put big pillow in chair and I was uncomfortable at 5'2". * Pedicure chairs broken so no massage option * pedicure sink broken for drained to empty twice and I sat with my wet feet dangling as I couldn't actually reach to pedicure bowl very easily while my manicure was done -unacceptable. * nail polish I chose -2 different colors both bottles empty and manicurist made me feel that this was my problem or that I should have chosen a different color. She then "thinned" them rather than open fresh bottle. * My daughter had a pleasant manicurist but I felt my manicurist was hostile and conceited. I felt rushed and as if on a factory production line. No sense of pampering or relaxation even though the salon was not very busy. I left a minimal tip of 15% for all of the above reasons which further angered the manicurist. A tip is a reflection of level of service received, not an entitlement. I have my nails done professionally on a regular basis and usually tip 20% each time and have extra art. The more ripped off I feel the less generously I give. The WORST facial I have ever had. the Facial woman Joanne is either racist or out right unprofessional and uneducated on how to do a facial. I made an appointment for 2pm. I arrived on time to wait over 10 minutes just to go into the facial room. It was dirt and the sheets on the table was dirty and looked as if it is never changed. She proceeded to rub oil on my face then obnoxiously rub my face for over 25 minutes then tell me I will probably have more acne breakouts in the next several days. She then rubbed hot rocks over my face and arms. why? For facial acne cleansing ? I have never had a facial with oil and hot rocks. She spent about 1-2 minutes cleaning my face. Then she announced she was finished. I was shocked and upset. She was delighted with this and had the nerve to ask when I would like to book my next appointment. I declined, paid and left. WHAT A WASTE OF $100. I will never step foot back in that salon again and STRONLY suggest nobody else does. read more

I would not recommend this salon and their sister salon, Nails L'mour, not so much because of the quality of their nails but their atmosphere and service. I was a walk in, and while I was greeted, I was told to take a seat. I waited for half an hour with only one glance from another girl who said that "It'll be just a little while longer." A general time frame would have been nice, also frankly for such a nice looking place I expected to be offered tea or coffee or at least a cup of water. When I was finally ready to be seen, I was given to the male manicurist. He didn't introduce himself or make me feel particularly welcome. I asked them to put on fake nails that I had bought elsewhere, because I had a special event and doing it myself, they come out crooked. He told me he "Never did these before," and spent a good ten minutes hemming and hawing about putting them on me. You put glue on the nail, a little on the fake nail, and press. It's not rocket science. Also, he filed my natural nail a little but to be honest I expected to have my cuticles worked on or something other than the little that he did. He made little to no conversation despite my attempts (when he did say something I often had to ask him to repeat himself because he spoke quietly and the place was so noisy), and just all in all the whole experience felt awkward. Also someone who I guess is the boss also made mention that they don't do the fake nails, but neither she nor him really made a solid attempt to change my mind, but I felt like I was being stared at with disapproving eyes from all sides. Also, even when I paid, I tried to get the tip out, my manicurist walked away at that point, and I tell the cashier and she says "You had the guy, right?" Even the employees don't know the names of their coworkers? There's no shortage of nail salons in Hawaii, especially around Ala Moana. take the extra time and spend your money elsewhere. read more

I am never going back here for waxing. I went in for a brazilian a week before my wedding, and thank God I went in that early cause I was in pain for the next two days at least! I knew it was gonna be painful since I hadn't waxed in a while, but that doesn't mean it's ok to ignore me when I tell you that the wax is too dang HOT! I was bruised and bleeding by the time I left, but didn't realize the extent of the burns until my skin peeled off on both sides. Guess I should've ran when she pulled out the cloth for me to lie on and there was a drop of blood stained on it. This was the first time I ever felt like screaming out in pain during a wax. Oh yeah, I think she was also experimenting on me by pouring the hot wax on my skin and letting it harden, then trying to rip it off. Wrong type of wax biotch. Quit trying to be like Beyond Bare when u ain't got the right stuff! Wish I got her name so I can just avoid her, but now just to feel safe I am just going to avoid the salon altogether.
